This is Earl Grey.  He was brand new for my art show, Artspire, on June 12th.  That was such a fun art show, and I’m happy to say that he found a new owner there.

Earl Grey is made with fencing wire and paddle wire.  I chose something different for the mane and tail and went for a stylized version of it with a twist of three types of chain going from the head down the back and down the tail.  I embellished him further with additional chain, some teardrop-shaped metal pieces, and the gray roses.  The gray roses, however, were removed upon the request of the buyer, who didn’t care for them.  So the horse sold, and the roses came back home with me.

He measured a little over 6 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide by 6.5 inches long.  I hope you like him.  Thanks for looking!

You may notice that I’ve changed up my photo backdrop a little.  While I’ve liked the stark white background, I’ve been having fun playing with texture, warmth, and some color to compliment the sculptures.  We’ll see how it goes.  I’d love to know what you think.  :)

Thank you so much, Kay!  I really appreciate your thoughts on my photo backdrop, as well, because I feel like I’m always guessing when it comes to product photography.  Your comments mean so much.  Thanks again!

Awww, I love horses and this is special.  The backgrounds add to the action and placement (?).  Giving them a real look.  Nice, Jenna! or Great!  (I’ve heard that people say your work is “nice” when they don’t know what to say .. that isn’t what I meant.  Ha.)
