In both formats, an artist must learn the theory, how to use the tools, how to apply the colors, etc., so if an artist learns better in a physical classroom, that is where they should go.  If they learn better in relative privacy of their studio and use videos, etc, to learn from, then that is what they should do.

Most likely, the best scenario would be to tailor the education with some of everything available.

FWIW, Being an artist is about finding YOUR own identity, not using or imitating some heroes.  You have to stay on top of that on your own. I spent too many years avoiding becoming “derivative” NOT being influenced by other artists in the normal ways. LOL

FWIW a lot of what some AI do is to study professional artists the same way MFA artists do only faster… critically (in their case pixel by pixel) observe as many great works as possible and, as Picasso advised, steal what works for you. (BUT not just imitate)  If you like, many T2I generative AI will also happily take YOUR original digital sketch and generate as many different ways of realizing it as you like.

I think digital art will kill traditional art. Just like the invention of photography killed it. Just like the invention of TV killed radio—and the cinema.

                Streaming on the other hand…

PLEASE how do I make these dreadful yellow things go away? OMG there's even more of the awful things now.
