"Painting is my meditation"May 21, 2020 at 7:44 am #1284719tuscanny, Great interpretation of the style of Giovanna Garzoni. I really like the contrast you have used with the yellow lemons and dark blue. Gorgeous grasshopper, fantastic work.
sridhargopal, Wonderful interpretation , and thank you for joining in. Really enjoy seeing your composition. I love the colour combination, gorgeous little flowers thrown in. The grapes are a nice touch.

May 21, 2020 at 7:57 am #1284731Cindy, I almost missed you… I thought I was on page 4.. ( sorry I am struggling with this new format)
Wow to your basket of very beautiful crab apples and the recipe for the jelly.. love the little butterfly too.
It has been years since I have seen a crab apple and now I feel nostalgic. I love the rustic of it all.. the bench and basket.. Wonderful interpretation.
Cheers

May 21, 2020 at 8:02 am #1284737Cindy … lovely basket of cherries (prefer them to crab apples!!) and a recipe to boot! What more could we want? Beautifully painted too.
Merri, that’s a really good interpretation of Giovanna’s style …. love the lemons and especially the one in front, it has a little eye!?
Cheers, Maureen

May 21, 2020 at 2:48 pm #1285000Beautiful work Merriweather. Like the little rose hip on the table also.
Thank you for hosting this month and suggesting this artist for us to study a little.

I really love what you have done. Beautiful.

May 21, 2020 at 5:05 pm #1285068Here is my painting. I did plein air at first then finished inside. It’s a pot by the garage so easy to get to!! Simply titled: Dahlias and Butterfly. I don’t know I actually did this correctly with the Garzoni look. I forgot to paint a leaf of some kind!! Oh well, there is also a honey bee on the right flower…hard to see. It was fun to do.

May 21, 2020 at 7:11 pm #1285125I’ve been considering adding detail, a more formal Garzoni look but sometimes I need to stop when I’m ahead! I had killed a bug to paint even! <Kidding> <Maybe not> (I almost wish I could have removed the appearance of the splash but it may be oil and impossible to paint over.)
Funny how many of us went for the same fruit!
