I’ve lost my studio (aka spare room) to a family member who is staying with us for a couple of months. However I shall be looking at the results of this challenge with interest.
Normal service will be resumed in October, hopefully.
RonC & C always welcome

Eek! Thanks for the link for Lorenna McKennitt’s “The Highwayman”… she did such a beautiful and dramatic rendition. I also really like it!
Maureen— Suzie Dent’s work looks really interesting! I’ll keep my eye out for her book.
Christel— That’s hilarious!
Ron— We’ll miss you, but understand. I hope the time with family is a blessing.
August 10, 2021 at 7:04 am #1427320I really love these discussions too. Actually Maureen, you should be familiar with Sandy Toksvig the host of QI ( and lots of other really cool shows).
Go you tuscanny… don’t forget to wear lots of colours while you paint and add a dab of patchouli oil around to set the mood.
Virginia, your pup sounds like fun,
My dog would absolutely be the sort of dog to tumble through a roof and she would be happy about it too. She’s that kind of dog, haha.
I am sure that at some point I read the Highway Man, but happy to re read. Thankyou for bringing that into the discussion.
Ozeanbay , you have certainly opened up a great discussion – wonderful stuff.
Cheers
Merri
Painting is a complete distraction. I know of nothing which, without exhausting the body, more entirely absorbs the mind. Winston Churchill
August 11, 2021 at 8:33 am #1427498It’s so interesting where these discussions will lead… I agree that this one has been rather fun.
I have a sketch and have started on painting. I’m definitely going in a direction with it I’m not used to! I’ve enjoyed playing with ideas for this.
August 11, 2021 at 7:16 pm #1427595I love finding out where words and phrases come from. I always wonder about accents too. How they developed and so on.
Christel, great idea with the songs! We used to love to sit around and read the lyrics off the album covers back in the day.
Ron, hope it’s a good visit.
Ozean, that’s great that you’ve started. I’m hoping to get mine done this weekend.

I have one done but not sure if I did this correctly. I guess I will see after the 21st. I will post on Monday 23rd as I am not online on weekends, (trying to do “electronic free weekends”). I look forward to seeing everyone’s work.
Regards,
Cindy
C/C always welcome

I’m excited to see it. I was also able to get mine done recently and was happy with how using the metaphor helped me reach beyond my comfort zone. Did however you interpreted this challenge help you with your painting?
I’m sorry that I’ve been quiet on here lately as life had limited my time, but I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone has come up with! Saturday, August 21, is just around the corner.

Yes, not long to go to the reveal date! It would be great if everyone can join in and give it a try, but no worries of it doesn’t work out. However, there is plenty of time until this challenge closes at the end of the month!
August 19, 2021 at 8:31 pm #1429082I am part way through mine. I have been out of town for a few days, so my progress has been “paused”, but I am hoping to join in on or close to reveal date, if not in reality, then at least metaphorically. Haha.
