Carl, cool moodiness in that first one, the second one rocks, love the aurora-ness, and shooting stars. Effective silhouetting of the tree. We have had a good few aurora nights this year, well done
Ron, like the take on your version, neat abstract, good job
Mona, way to go, great selection. I love the self-minded tree, really works for me. Nice work on the Klimt inspired tree, and the impressionism one. And yes, the last one is well cool

"Painting is my meditation"August 21, 2023 at 3:27 pm #1523506Oh wow Mona! Terrific interpretations! A tree doing its own thing, how cool is that? Kolourful Klimt, oh yes! Love it! The impressionist version is beautiful but I also like the lyrical and colourful abstract. Thank you for all of these!
I’m sitting here, viewing before heading to bed , big grin on my face , just thrilled at all these super pics!Cheers, Maureen

August 22, 2023 at 5:24 am #1523545Wow! So many lovely paintings, you should all feel proud:
Merri – Lovely colours and painted with your usual joy. Nice.
Christel – Great mix of colours. The outlining and palette remind me of Cezanne. Good job
Maureen – Thats lovely, those colours! Well done. I wish I could have got out of my “trees are green” mindset.
Scattycat – Wonderful. …. and a great taste in music too!
Cindy – great idea flipping the colours. Its worked well.
David – definitely seeing Van Gogh influence here. Nice mix of colours.
Kay – lovely pastel tones. I love the way you’ve painted the sky. Well done.
Ozeanbay – very imaginative and a lovely interpretation.
Carl – I like both of those but my favourite is the second with the night sky. It looks like the Aurora Borealis.
Mona – they are all very good. Well done. If I had to pick one it would be the first – I just love the shape of that tree. What a challenge! Thanks for all the kind comments on mine and thanks to Maureen for hosting.

August 23, 2023 at 5:22 am #1523684Thanks Merri, and everyone! What a great response we’ve had and I’m so glad you had fun with it.
I watched a good tv programme this week, about Aussie Aboriginal art and culture being the oldest continuous culture in the world ….. and how the oh-so-clever Europeans destroyed it (or tried to) ….. history repeats …. is it something in the human DNA that forever leads to the need to conquer? …. All this to say, I now know where /how all the dot aboriginal art originated…. fascinating! …… maybe that’s something to explore another time!??
Cheers, Maureen
