Different Strokes – Acrylics forum challenge for March 2021

I am totally and utterly disheartened, disappointed, disgruntled, dismayed and any other ‘dis’ words you can think of ……. painting now  binned ….. start again tomorrow in a clearer and lighter frame of mind (I hope!) ?.  ??.   Think I need a glass….. ?

ColinS – Great work!  Love the reflections on the cobblestones.

Ozeanbay – Beautiful!  Love the details!  How you put the light shining on the peoples faces, the gentleman with a tie, scalloped canopy edge!  Wow, just wow!

Look forward to seeing the others.  I said that I had never been to Rome but now wishing I had after seeing these photos and checking out other pics online.

I did paint for a couple of hours yesterday but I was really struggling. The alignment of the stars must have been off for painting lol. But I opened a fortune cookie yesterday and it said, “People are always satisfied with your work.” Well, let’s hope lol.

Good timing Cosmoglot, and good job!

I don’t know if the painting is done but I am! lol This is definitely one that should be looked at from a distance. My old need for realism keeps trying to resurface but I tried to simplify as much as I could to keep my sanity.

10 x 8″ on acrylic paper.
