Virginia – beautiful! I’ve also got that burgundish red and I try to lighten it with yellow/orange; it works sometimes.

Thanks for the lovely comments on my rose.

        Maureen-Beautiful soft velvety rose.

Ron-I would say you lived up to the challenge.

        Christel-Lovely contrast.

I never like my paintings when they are in the beginning stages. wish you would have set the rose aside and come back to it. Sometimes stepping away for a bit is helpful. Your daisy turned out great!

Jim-It was smart to use some purple in the tulip to tie it together with the back ground.

        Virginia-Love your glowing rose. Stunning!

Ozeanbay-Beautiful, vibrant rose. Love the background.

Thank you all for the lovely comments!

            Ozean, your rose is lovely!

I did like using the fluorescences, I’ll probably use them again maybe in a street scene or sunset perhaps.

Deborah— Thank you for your lovely comment on my painting. I also like the vibrant colors of your poppies!

Virginia— Thank you also for your kind comment on my painting. I like your idea of using fluorescents in a street scene or sunset. In a book I have I saw someone use neon colors in an underpainting of a stream. It worked very well!

Deborah – lovely cheerful colors. :good:

Christel :  Nice, I like the contrast and the flow of the petals.

Cindy: Well done – I love the fun dude.

RoadLessTaken: Nice. There’s something uplifting about daisies – shame about the rose though. ;-)

Old_Hobbyist:  Love the mix of blues, they really pop against the background.

                        Virginia:  lovely colours, nice graduation

Ozeanbay: Beautiful rose, great shape and colour – I like the highlights you’ve used.

Deborah:   those are really vibrant poppies. Lovely .

Great work from everyone and thanks everyone for the kind comments on mine. Thanks for hosting Assaf; I’ve learnt a lot from this challenge.

Ut oh- I think I’ve been inspired!  I’ve been seeing flowers all over the neighborhood in a new and good way!

It’s been amazing to see all the beautiful paintings from everyone! Sadly, my commission has taken more time than I anticipated, so I won’t have the chance to play this month – I hope to take part again in the challenge in the future, when things calm down a bit.

On the good news, the portrait commission itself is coming along beautifully and I’m really enjoying it. I’ll post it in the forum when it’s done.

                            Some nice inspiration there Sheila.

Assaf, glad your commission is going well, though it’s too bad we won’t see a flower from you. I understand how things take longer than you expect lol.

My rose is about a third done.

                            C&C always welcome. Michelle

Sounds good about the portrait Assaf … what a relief for you, so fingers crossed all goes well to the finish!

Sorry you can’t participate but needs must! We’ve enjoyed painting this month, thank you again!

Sheila, plenty of inspiration in those lovely pics … the new camera/phone? Nice and clear.

                            Cheers, Maureen
