WC Darkroom Topic Challenge (C&C’s encouraged but not required)

Topic Challenge:THREE (3) Different Shots of the Same Thing

    So, let me explain.

Your job is to select a subject that you wish to photograph. You are to take three (3) different shots of the same thing. You can alter the Lighting, Perspective, Crop (either in camera or post), Focus, Exposure, Shutter Speed, Aperture, Camera Tilt, etc. … techniques using your camera that create changes in the outcome. I am not looking for post changes made using editing software, though you may use editing software to sharpen, adjust tones, exposure, adjust levels or curves, etc., … you know, the basics that you do to all of your RAW images. But for this challenge, don’t change the images to look like a Matisse or Picasso, a sketch or an abstract using editing software. If you can create those effects using your camera, then do your magic and let that me one of your three images.

When you have the three shots ready for viewing, please paste all three in the same post. Yes, all three should be in the same post, one above the other if possible. This way we are able look at and compare how your images changed from 1st to 2nd to 3rd. If you wish to add what you did to change the look, it would be appreciated but not necessary. Remember each post you make will have THREE images which reflect the three different views of the ONE SUBJECT of your choice.

This Challenge will end May 25, 2019

    Guidelines:
    1) All photos submitted must be yours.
    2) All entries are to be posted directly by each member into this thread in the DARKROOM.
    3) You may post more than one image, however, please submit only one photo per post.
    4) We hope that his activity inspires you to shoot new images and not just pull from your archives. However, images from your archives WILL be allowed as long as your image has NOT been previously posted on Wet Canvas.
    5) You may use software to manipulate or enhance your images.
    6) Since this activity is running in the Darkroom Forum, Comments and Critiques are allowed and encouraged but not mandatory. Anyone, regardless of experience, can offer his/her reaction to a photo, because most of those posting in the Darkroom would appreciate your C&C.
    7) Please keep comments and critiques constructive.
    8) Every other Sunday, a new topic challenge will begin.

        Me too.
I keep trying to change things up in these challenges so there’s something for everyone hoping to keep members motivated to take photos. As for me, when I do a camera shoot, I often take a dozen or more photos of the same thing and have recently forced myself to take shots from different angles or use different settings.

While at the city park, I found these long dried stems with a cluster of seed pods at the ends. Here are the three version of the same object.

The only thing I did was move around the object thus changing the background.

There is a large bush behind the object in the first photo. Since the photo was daken at dusk, the bush was quite dark providing me with an almost black background.

In this second shot, I moved around so that the setting sun was behind the object and tried for a back lit effect.

And finally on the third shot I used the pond that was in the background that created a pleasing and colorful bokeh for the composition.

The three photos only took 1 minute to shoot the series. However, the wind was really whipping so the formations of the dangling seed pods loot quite different from 1st to 2nd then finally to the 3rd shot.

Way to show how it is done, Mary. A fine example that shows how YOU see things and how differently things can be viewed.
