Good morning friends, from the temperature outside you would think it was January not July. A cold 10C.
Had a broken night, couldn’t escape the thought of Trump winning the presidency again.
If the weather holds I hope to see the gardener today and a decorator to paint the window surrounds.

Raining and cold all day. 16 deg C right now. Birds still came for their seed. Mr Charlie must be tending his mound, one off his wives came today. Such a scrawny thing.

We must leave our mark on this worldJuly 3, 2024 at 2:05 am #1555261Evening all…
When do you hear the results of your xray Doug?
Had a wonderful day in the Bay, sunny and mild, and the harbour was like a millpond.
Tomorrow it’s a day of probabilities lol Going by train to Auckland, free for the over-65s. Looking forward to it, going to be another sunny day.

July 3, 2024 at 2:08 am #1555262Enjoy your trip Lulu, are you coming back in the day?
I have no idea when the results will arrive, I’ll phone the doctor and enquire on Friday.

?????The boys have been good as gold and are safely off to school. We’re babysitting because their parents got tickets to Wimbledon, so have gone in a well deserved mini break. I will have Miss A tomorrow, while Grandad gets the boys to school. She is off school because in theUK, some schools are used as polling stations for the general election.
In England, schools have about another fortnight to run, Uschi.
I am pleased to report that my total for the 100 Days of Flowers has gone over £1300. Some money popped up on my donations page. Lots of fundraisers for Maggie’s do marathons or bike rides. There’s no chance of me doing that, so I’m really thrilled that my painting marathon and one woman show, has raised so much.
Greetings to all,
QS

July 3, 2024 at 3:28 am #1555264That’s wonderful QS!
Our general elections are held on a Saturday. Is it compulsory to vote in the UK? It isn’t here but is in Australia I think?
Hi JJ.
Yes, Doug, back in the evening.

July 3, 2024 at 5:04 am #1555269Good day all,
A pleasant sunny day here.
Doug, we had those temps last week. What kind of decorator? A painter?
JJ, I guess not all birds in Aussie Land are beautiful.
QS, our school buildings are used for voting also. For the safety of the children, school is canceled .
Lulu, I wish voting was mandatory here, instead, some states, mainly in the south, work hard at keeping people from voting.

July 3, 2024 at 5:13 am #1555270everyone,
I got the last of the garden weeding done yesterday as well as fertilizing the flowers and the grass. It was perfect timing because it rained in the night and will continue today. It will go up to 25 today so with the humidity and rain it won’t be a good day for working outside. I’m caught up on laundry so let it rain.
I will be driving Matteo to and from his soccer camp every day this week. This morning Brian and I have another meeting at the bank to bring in his final finance papers from work so our retirement advisor can set them up all our RRSPs in a RRIF (registered retirement income plan). That should be the last bank meeting until our mortgage is due for renewal in December. Just a few more years and that will be paid off.
QS – that is great news on your sales.
I need to have breakfast next so I hope you can all enjoy your day.
July 3, 2024 at 5:55 am #1555276A painter Bill, he is sanding filling and recoating our hardwood window sills.
We our banks had retirement advisors Ellen.

We must leave our mark on this worldJuly 3, 2024 at 6:39 am #1555279Good Morning all,
It is 8:30 a.m. on a bright, sunny, already hot day here in Oakwood…temps in the 90°F/32°C range this afternoon along with rain and thunder toward evening.
I’m off to my art group meeting this afternoon. I’ve drawn out an orchid to paint from a photo I took at an Orchid Breeders Show last year. I finished the gallery-wrapped painting I did of daughter Christine’s cat sleeping in her chair and waxed it overnight. I’ll take it to the group today and show them the technique, I’m sure some of them have never seen it, they are relatively new to watercolors.
Hope things went well with the x-ray, Doug, and it helps the doctor figure out what is causing you so much pain.
Ellen, I’ve been doing the same in my veggie garden. The weeds are growing like crazy in the area where I have no plants. I’m getting tons of cucumber flowers, but no cucumbers yet.
Hugs to all who need one.
Sylvia
July 3, 2024 at 6:54 am #1555280Good Morning!!!
Hot day 28C with very high humidity makes it feel like 35C.
I was over at the kid’s place for dinner last night and we tried to teach Ethan how to play euchre, was fun. Today Ethan is coming to my place for some sketching, he loves to sketch portraits, he should be visiting Lulu instead of me
Doug, you are very patient waiting until Friday for the Xray results. Positive thinking, we need to visualize Biden winning Glad the painters have arrived.
JJ, yes, not the prettiest bird but then black is elegance
Lulu, re Procreate (yesterday) As I said, I had never heard of it so googled it and immediately saw a video where a lady created a portrait with it which to me was very stiff looking, she traced an existing photo. I did figure that you wanted to learn how to use it. I have seen Steve (Audrey’s Steve ) do some playing around on his tablet but didn’t know that that is what it was called. Enjoy your day in Auckland!!
QS, a house full of children for you again!!! Same here about using schools for polling stations. Wonderful that money is still coming in for your charity. You certainly found a great way to raise money for them!!
Lulu, re compulsory voting, I am sure there would be riots about that in the US – CONTROL, FREEDOM!!!
Bill, re voting, what I said to Lulu above.
Ellen, a wonderful feeling that you don’t have to worry about income during retirement.
Sylvia, that is another super Kitty painting you did!!!!!!

July 3, 2024 at 7:05 am #1555283A good Wednesday to all…….not bad this morning, but there is a “Excessive Heat Alert” starting around 1100. Calling for 113° heat index today………..Guess who isn’t working outside today.
No big plans today, I’m tired. Think I’ll just putter about in the studio.
Doug….I’ll trade temps with you if you want………and Trump is scary and dangerous. I just hope there’s enough sane people to keep him from winning in Nov.
QS,,,,,,1,300 is fantastic. Congratulations!
Time for some breakfast and meds…….Greetings to all here and those to come.
Steve.

They are very slow to report from experience Uschi.
The Trump situation is very scary, fixing the Supreme Court was the first step, then engineering interminable delays in the prosecutions are aimed at giving him power. A dangerous man.
