A good Wednesday to all…….another “Heat Advisory” for today.  97° is the called for high.  But with the humidity that means a HI over 105°.  Not as bad as yesterday or the day before, but still too hot for me.

Not much planned for today other than a few morning errands, then I’ll just putter about inside the house. I’ll be watching the France vs. Germany football game this afternoon.  A thrilling game for England yesterday vs. Sweden….Congratulations to the English lasses! :yahoo: :yahoo:

Bill…..walk way looking great.  Don’t envy you though placing all those pavers.  It would certainly do my back in. Wild Day Lilies are abundant here in the country side….you can always determine where old home sites were by the Wild Lilies or wild roses.  The old family homestead in Oklahoma (great grandparents before the “Great Land Rush”) is still populated with the Lilies and Wild Tea Cup Roses bushes beneath the Pecan trees and Evergreen wind breaks.  The house is long gone, but you can still tell where the foundations were (cut sandstone rocks, one of which I’ve still got).  There still is a natural spring, a good cleaning and it would flow again.  The family (old family friends) that my father sold it to just years before he passed away put in a windmill watering pump and a stock tank for his cattle, but the original home site is fenced off to keep the cattle out.  I always make an effort to go by there whenever I’m back in Colony.

Char……hope they’re getting the infection under control and that you’re feeling better.  Gotta be ready for the pleasant days coming out there on the deck………….{{{hugs}}}}.

Greetings to all here and those coming.  Have a great day, evening or night.  Be safe, stay hydrated, stay cool………..breakfast and meds calling.

    Be good, do good…..

    Steve.

Annie, I think it is wonderful that the young man is willing to make house calls and you are helping him out at the same time!! Sorry about all your family’s auto immune issues. Nothing like excellent genetic material like Bill has !!!! That goes for Nancy’s family too!!

JJ, “front door lock exchange party” – a bit of my weird sense of humor, Juegen, Audrey and Steve were coming  for our coffee klatsch afternoon but since my front door lock needed to be changed that was incorporated into the normal coffee klatsch hence the “front door lock exchange party” :-)

Nancy, JJ and Char, I still have sensitivities to many foods but I can deal with the very restrictive diet but what concerned me more was that the gas in my stomach, that I couldn’t get rid of, REALLY affected my breathing. I really didn’t believe that this Phyllium Husk Powder would work but in desperation actually listened to the specialist LOL and it did the trick for that wonderfully.

Hi Steve, you tell such good stories!!

        Over and out!!

Thanks Uschi got it now.  I’m glad the physillium husk powder works for you too.

I hope Xhar is able to get oh her deck today too.

        Night from me.

JJ~ Uschi got a new front door lock and her son installed it.  Oh, Uschi explained it better than I did—her party!!🤪

            Good morning, all~

Sorry you have another infection, Char.  It can wear you down and it’s so uncomfortable.  Sounds like you’re feeling a bit better.  Hugs!

Annie~ a good looking mechanic that does house calls??  Nice!!!  I’m glad you had the option of having your car serviced at your home, though.

Bill~ your walkway looks beautiful—you are so multitalented!! The wild daylilies are lovely, especially when paired with the queen ann’s laced and chicory (the blue flowers).  Although in my yard, they are unruly and bullies!

Steve~ I didn’t mention how lovely your pool is—the stock tank is the perfect size and you had a great idea of the pool noodles for the edges. Your bit of paradise continues to become more inviting!!

Ellen~ I know they will get Matteo’s thyroid under control.  As you know it’ll take time.  Such a busy lady!

Uschi~ I’m glad you got your lock installed.  Always a good reason to celebrate!

Well, I must putter away!  Watch the heart and the sun out there—Doug and all!

Good morning Washers! The air is actually misty, the humidity is that high.  I don’t really think there’s mist but it feels like it.

Brittany is not working today, so the Kids have gone to town. After a really bad night, Ted’s feeling a little better.  Both he and Kenzie have come down with summer colds. Medication is on its way for them. Both tested negative for covid.

Keeping this short for now… my noon psw has called and will be here early. :bye: bbl

Good morning all. Bill your walkway looks great and the daylilies are beautiful.

Char our pond is really small and a lot of our ducks use it.  Also we get everything people put in their storm drains.  SIL has really improved the wetland before the pond so maybe one  day we’ll be able to take a dip.

Doug once again Ruth has outdone herself .

Wonderful that a (good-looking) mechanic can come to your house to fix your car.

                    Stay cool everyone.  Betty

Just got back from my annual blood draw and some shopping.

Annie, these are the only wild daylilies that I know of.

Steve, it gets to my old back too.  I take a lot of breaks.

:bye: Another reasonable day out there!  I had a good trip down to town yesterday, uncomfortable, but necessary, physio on my neck, and then picked up my books from the library.  One was a copy of the one I just turned in, although of course I didn’t  look at them before I got home!!  I messed up my hold requests I guess, I’ll get back there soon I hope.

No Char, not dancing, but I did prove I could when I saw my physio who helped me with my leg issues :-)   You sound a bit better, I hope that is so, but I’m sorry that cold is going around there, my son has it too.  He is 58 today!

Gosh, Ellen, if it isn’t one thing, it’s another in your family.  I’m hope they get it under control quickly.

Lovely flowers, Bill, and those pavers make an elegant path.

Hi Steve, Sylvia, Doug, Annie, Anita, Kay, Carol, Adena, JJ, Joy, Uschi, Nancy, Betty and all to come!

Maverick is in bed and Max will be following shortly. I’ll put my feet up for the evening. My son couldn’t go to his other job site in Quebec because part way there he was turned back because a large sink hole had opened up across both lanes.

Matteo will be home tomorrow. The endocrinologist says we caught it just in time. For those interested, normal T4 levels (thyroid level) are 11 – 18. His was 27 last week when taken here. Yesterday in Ottawa they were 87 (at least that’s what my son said passed third hand – I have to confirm). He is going to feel so much better once his levels are corrected. My DIL said by the time he was seen he couldn’t sleep, couldn’t focus to play a video game, etc.

I watched Max change the tubing, syringe, and site on his insulin pump. He is independent doing it but we just have to watch to make sure he isn’t cutting corners and skips using alcohol on his skin. He is going to a sleep over at a friend’s cottage tomorrow. They are allowing him more independence in handling his diabetes (with monitoring by adults).

I have some bills to pay online so I’ll see you all in the morning.

Ellen, Thank goodness Matteo got the help he needed quickly.  He has the opposite of what my Amy has with low thyroid.  Even now as she is going through the change, she has to be monitored closely because her hormone levels are changing.  Diabetes camp is so wonderful for Max.  The reinforcement he receives there will help him as he grows up.

Lynn, Glad that you were able to see your physio to assist you.

Char, I will never complain about getting too much rain again.  After not having any since early June, it is getting critical.  The only plus is our lake is still closer to the top.

Cleaned out the weeds from my containers in the garden.  I also just returned from a walk down to the end of the block and back in almost total shade with the sun getting ready to set but still 100˚ with a slight hot breeze.

In looking at everyone’s yards, I can tell the ones who have not watered at all since the ground has sunk down 2 inches below the sidewalk.  Our yard is still mostly green and still at the same level it has always been.  I make sure the lawn gets .50 of water a week with the sprinkler system on manual setting without wasting water.

I also noticed a house across the street kitty corner to us has a huge area dug up by the water/sewer line.  John looked at it and said, they are responsible for it.  Thank goodness we have insurance for that.

Hope everyone has a great evening.

                        Nancy

                            Good Morning!!

A High of 27C but humidity will make it feel like 32C.

Scrabble day and it is my turn to host.

Son borrowed a hand from Steve to cut down some branches. I asked him about a month ago that if and when he did that can he come down because I too have a few branches that need cutting. Well, out of the blue he arrived in midst of high humidity and was ready for the job. Well, I was hoping for a cooler day LOL Anyway, the few branches turned into a lot of branches and we were sawing and chopping for abut two hours.
Next he will come on Friday to take it all away to the recycle place.
Today I am aching all over.

JJ, a few days ago I saw a young woman with the exact same hair colour as yours, I immediately thought of you. Glad you are feeling young and presentable again!!! :-)

QS, OMG what a lot of going ons, wonderful that you have the energy to keep up with it. Will you have the boys for a lot of their holiday??? Hopefully the oasis in your garden can be easily taken care of.

Lulu, yes, I too immediately forget the word after having solved it. So sorry about your older sister’s health situation. I was wondering where all the moisture was coming down because it certainly isn’t here.

Bill, you made me smile at the thought of you putting your crown back on, glad you will get it done properly again.

Ellen, so good to read that Matteo’s condition can be taken care of with medication and also that Max is being so responsible for looking after himself.

Char, thinking of you and sending good wishes for you and Ted and gratitude to the kids for being there and being so helpful!!!

                            Hi Doug!!!
