Well, I am late! Woke at 3 am, couldn’t get back to sleep then suddenly I woke again at 7.30 am.
I have put Ruth’s eye drops in and we are having breakfast now at 9 am.
Uschi, that message from “your internet provider” may have been a phishing attack. You should never click a link in those type of emails but go directly to the ISP in a separate tab or by phone.
Rain all night and the patio is flooded.
Everyone seems extra busy reading yesterday’s wash when I was MIA.

We must leave our mark on this worldJune 12, 2019 at 4:19 am #840622Good morning Doug and all to come,
Doug, I’m hoping I can drift off and awake at 7:30 too.
Can’t figure out why I, all of a sudden, have pain in my right hip. I’m walking around like Walter Brennen in the “Real McCoys. Makes sleeping difficult.

June 12, 2019 at 4:22 am #840634Good evening Doug and all who follow.
Great excitement today. The roofers came around and put up the prevent workers falling off, rails. Should happen Friday. The roofing, not the falling off.
Been watching rubbish TV only alleviated by playing fishing with the cats. Long strip of leather cast over the back off the couch and feel the bites. I prefer not to land the tooth and claws so I let them go and tease them again. Loki became quite athletic with a midair double twist, landing firmly on her stomach. Eli is not allowed to play while Loki shows off. Better for Eli. Don’t want to be under that landing.
Besides sitting the dog, all is well ….

June 12, 2019 at 5:19 am #840619Beautiful day here. Got up to 25 degs. I watered the gardens, replanted the ginger roots I dug up yesterday. I didn’t know one could replant the roots. I also put a turmeric in, hope it grows.
NBN man was a real gentleman. He had a smile on his face the whole time he was here.
He had to put a cable from the pole across the street, to the house, and then put a box on the wall outside, and connect a box inside. All this and the modem is still not connected, because the cable connectors at the pole across the street have water damage. This happened some years ago, when the cable went off, and it was those connectors and water damage. I guess they are not sealed properly.
Alan has to wait another few days until another technician comes and replace the connectors. Then we shall see.
I am amused by it all.
Tania called on her way home from work, she is flat out with end of financial tax stuff. he is going for her Wednesday Blood sweat and Beers run tonight. It is a speed thingy, where they do bursts of fast and slower. She really is doing very well with her running. Hard to believe she is 47 years old, she doesn’t look a day over 30.
Does Ruth have a patch Doug? Give her a gentle hug from me.

We must leave our mark on this worldJune 12, 2019 at 6:12 am #840615Good Morning all,
It is just after 6:00 a.m. here in getting light Oakwood. Rain in the forecast for today. Our new neighbors across the street moved in yesterday. Will go over to meet them in a day or two, give them time to unpack and get comfortable first.
We are off to the Base this morning. Larry is getting a blood test to check on his eosinophil count after his procedure earlier. He has had a high number in the past which could be dangerous, so he monitors it carefully. He went out for a half mile walk yesterday, just testing his knee. He plans to do this for exercise in the future.
We’ll stop in the Commissary and BX afterward before heading home.
Doug, I hope Ruth’s eye heals quickly and easily.
to all,

June 12, 2019 at 6:24 am #840637Good morning All.
I had a brief row with my internet supplier, I have a fast internet connection
that I pay through the nose for.It started to slow down, then drop out, the bright young thing that took my calls said she would fix it from her end, Pah!
I then did a little asking around and it was surprised to find that the company had ordered a “new part” I pushed them to fit it which they did but my connection was still slow.
My son who was on his way to work phoned me to say that they had a junction box open up the road, I walked up and looked over the technicians shoulder, water was almost 8″ deep inside the box and many of the connections ran with condensation. I suggested that might be causing my problems but his glazed look told me he was just not interested.
I took a photo and e-mailed it to the head office. Two days later all was well.June 12, 2019 at 6:39 am #840636A good Wednesday to all……..very cool here this morning for this time of year. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful….highs in the 70’s slight breeze, no humidity. Today is suppose to be the same…….will be working in the yard today.
Lisa got her stitches out yesterday…..could barely walk into the doctor’s office. This is a huge neuro group with 4 separate waiting areas depending on which doctor you’re seeing. You check in electronically at a central kiosk and are then instructed as to which waiting room you go to. Altogether, it’s about 50 yards to each end of the waiting areas in the front of house area and then behind the wall are the exam rooms, diagnostic room and support areas……..talk about having it figured out. They move patient through at lightening pace. Second floor is their admin area, out patient surgical suite and their physical rehab………..they’ve got every base covered in a profit generating machine. Lisa’s doctor now thinks the extreme pain and loss of function is a nerve issue now….DUH. After her cortisone shot last Tuesday, Thursday and Friday it started looking like she was seeing some improvement and then Saturday morning it went to hell in a hand basket……she’s been laid up since. Was supposed to go back to work on Monday. Hell, she couldn’t even get off the couch without ending up screaming in pain and crying. She’s on a steroid pack and Gabapintin (nerve blocker) for now….back to the doctor next week. So, that’s where that frustration is.
Doug….thoughts for Ruth. How long does she have to wear her patch? I just had to wear mine for about 24 hours and then start the drops. I know she’s uncomfortable now, but she’ll appreciate the improved sight when it’s healed.
Annie….how steep is your roof that they have to put rails up…
My niece called yesterday to see if I wanted to build a fence for them if they paid me $2000…….our unusual cool temps will be gone by weekend and then we’re back to mid to high 90’s and high humidity. They got a couple of quotes…I think the lowest quote was around $4800….but they’re will to pay me $2000…….you just gotta love family. I politely declined, but have agreed to come and get them started on the right foot and do their material take off and provide instructional advice. It ain’t rocket science, but they are millennials and think the way you change a flat tire is call roadside assistance, wait 2 hours for them to show up and pay $100….SMH. I love my niece, but she is the very definition of a “spoiled princess”.
Cats are plotting, been up since 3:30 and they can’t understand why I haven’t let them out yet……it’s just now getting light outside….gonna be a long day. BBL.
Greetings to all here and those yet to come……..have a fantastic hump day, unlike “he who shall not be named” who woke up this morning behind in head to head polls in just about every state he won in 2016 by double digits…..(hysterically laughing)……his panties will be knotted up today for sure.
Be good, do good….

Italiano class tonight, learning how to conjugate and use the irregular verb fare.
Also telling the time.
LOTS to learn but loving it.
Next week it’s all about food because the following week we are all dining at an Italian restaurant ordering in Italian! Pizza is easy….and probably the cheapest hahaHoping for a fine day tomorrow so i can take my scooter for a spin. First time since i broke my toe last year. Biking didnt affect it but scootering requires direct pressure.
Need to air my brain! lolBuonanotte:wave:

June 12, 2019 at 8:16 am #840620everyone,
It’s grey, cool (9), and raining. As a matter of fact that’s the forecast until at least next Tuesday. I took advantage of it and two days ago put down some grass seed in a bare spot and fertilizer on the rest. Perfect timing.I have heard of some ridiculous safety warnings on things to protect companies against liability but the most ridiculous one was on something I bought yesterday. I have a heavy ceramic planter outside that occasionally needs moving a couple of feet across a cement patio area because it’s right in the way of a sprinkler. I didn’t want to drag it so I bought a round, metal, plant support on wheels that makes moving it simple. I was looking for any weight restriction on it and the label said “safety equipment and eye protection needed for installation”. I ignored the warning as I simply placed it on the cement.
The last of my seedlings are planted and the mulch spread so all my spring outdoor chores are done and it’s just maintenance now. I was going to go back to the gym today but I have to go babysit in half an hour while my son goes to an appointment. Then I need to get to the grocery store. Tomorrow is our art club’s last business meeting until September and we always have a potluck supper. I need to pick up the ingredients I need. I usually bring a main course meat dish but I’m trying a dessert. I’ve made it once and it was delicious so I’ll upsize the dish and see what they think.
Steve – I’m so sorry Lisa is having problems. I hope they can find an answer soon.
I better make my grocery list. Enjoy your day everyone.

June 12, 2019 at 8:23 am #840617Good Morning! We had no internet to speak of yesterday… and it’s dicey today. The techs will be here tomorrow to relocate our receiver. that this is the solution.
I have Class this morning. And then, we must leave immediately leave for Windsor to see one of the Specialist Dr.’s. Frankly, I have precious little faith that we’ll get any answers or find out much more than we already know.
Our GirlieGirl has gone to be with her sisters in the heavenly chicken run. Her final resting place is by the bird feeder station where she loved to peck at the seed dropped by the grackles and doves.
I did manage to read yesterday’s Wash.
Uschi, I suspected that you’d been attacked as soon as you told us about the porn site. If Malwarebytes didn’t find anything, then your problem runs much deeper and will require a professional cleaning. When my computer was hacked, I had great luck using Geek Squad. It costs. But it’s worth it.
Nancy, your silverware miniatures are brilliant.
Steve, (((Lisa))) is living a nightmare. Thank goodness you are her advocate.
Bill, I hope there’s nothing serious going on with your hip!
Everybody. I have to get down to the Studio. And I’m this will post. Have a great day, everyone. :grouphug:

June 12, 2019 at 8:24 am #840616Good Morning!!
Another gorgeous day, a high of 22C.
Continuing with love seat, window, blinds cleaning, should all be done by this afternoon. The whole downstairs will be almost spotless. All that needs to be done is steam clean the carpet and I’ll have someone come in to do that. Oh, I just remembered that the dining room chair covers need washing too:D
I carefully checked my internet usage and it looks like it suddenly adds on about 500 MB to what would be my normal daily usage. So if I would normally use around 350MB it is now around 850MB if I would do some YouTube and use 1GB it now uses 1500MB.
It started on May 29th. Our Wash is a wonderful Diary:) I checked if I wrote about any unusual happening and sure enough, that is when I downloaded Libre Office. Now I haven’t used Libre Office since I downloaded it so the question is how can it affect my daily internet usage????????? Any idea anyone????????
Steve, I feel sooooooo sorry for poor Lisa’s pain and the absolute frustration you both are going through:grouphug: and for quick and efficient improvement. Glad you managed to say NO to the fence offer:D
Doug, I hope all is “normal” with Ruth’s eye:crossfingers:
Lulu
Rod, very interesting, glad it’s fixed.
Sylvia, Larry can’t be kept down:)
JJ, another one of those frustrating situations:rolleyes: Good for Tania!!
to you Bill, Geoff and Annie!!
Uschi
June 12, 2019 at 8:49 am #840610Uschi, did you download LibreOffice from the official site? There are some dodgy sites offering downloads which may have trojans. I always use the cnet downloads service[/URL] to find the real one which is the Document Foundation.
Steve, I’m so sorry Lisa is going through so much pain. Did it start immediately after the anaesthetic wore off or has she done something to trap the nerve?
Ruth has retired to bed to rest her eyes.
Doug
We must leave our mark on this worldJune 12, 2019 at 9:02 am #840623Steve, poor Lisa. I don’t have a lot of faith in orthopedic surgeons. One ruined my shoulder.
JJ, wish I could grow ginger. It is so good for you. You are right to be proud of Tania.
Doug, has Ruth mentioned improved vision?
Rod, sometimes you have to take things into your own hands. Good job taking that photo.
Sylvia, glad Larry can do the walking. He should take a camera with him.
Char, sure hope somebody can get to the bottom of Ted’s problem. Can you go to a specialist in Toronto?
Uschi, you definitely should take your computer in. Do you have your information backed up?
I was delighted to see a couple of humming birds yesterday. So, they weren’t all wiped out by the storm.
