For those who missed my garden tour, I can repeat it next time. It will look totally different in a month with different flowers in bloom.

Yes please, I will set my alarm!!  Cute swallow.  He/she is in good hands.  Take your boys to your local park, walk them around the lake, they will love it.  Oh a visit to the library.

A good Fourth of July to all…a wet overcast morning here. All ready had a brief shower, but we’ll warm up to the mid 90’s by noon.

No big plans for today… Lisa’s brother is still recovering from gall bladder surgery last week, daughter has a large group counseling session this afternoon with her LBGTQ+ patients and niece is working on parring down house hold in preparation for move to Fairfax county Virginia…..seems she has accepted the job offer from her yet to be named 3 letter government agency in DC.  Her husband has already accepted a teaching position in a private school there as well. They’re all excited about it as the salaries offered are substantially double plus what they are making now…in Arkansas. Of course the cost of living up there is substantial higher too…. their home in Marion Arkansas, listed just under $400K. A comparable home in Fairfax will run a Million plus….and that’s almost an hour each way commute via train daily for her.  Not sure they’ve thought this thoroughly through to be honest……. they’re laid back lifestyle is going to change drastically for sure. I hope the best for them.

Cricket…… isn’t that kindergarten baseball for wannabes…? Kinda like T-ball…??.

Posting this on my cell phone… breakfast and meds calling…. Greetings to all, have a great day.

Be safe, be healthy, be good, do good..

    Steve.

HAPPY 4TH to all our US friends. Steve, sounds like you’re feeling better today.   Your niece will certainly notice a change in lifestyle.

The garden is all down to the hard work  of  SIL, DD, and DGD.  They plant flowers in amongst the vegetables,  except for the poppies that were here when I moved here,  and they reseed every year.

We also have the green hops, but the golden ones are very pretty.

        Take care, Betty

Hi folks, well, the threatened rain didn’t appear and we had a lovely afternoon bowling except that \I left my jacket behind in the bowling shelter. Luckily my friend lives fairly near and has agreed to pick it up for me.

QS, I use a product called OTEX to clean my ears when needed. It is more effective than olive oil.

I’m sorry to hear dear Char has lost her speech.

I look forward to seeing your garden next month Ellen.

            Happy 4th of July!

Well, as per usual, woke up to bright sunshine, then the humidity seemed to rise exponentially, and then boom, pouring down now.  I do not want to see my electric bill next month.  I’ve turned down the number on the AC instead of switching it between AC and fan only.  I can’t open the windows at night and close them for the day because if it rains while I’m asleep I’ll wake up to really wet floors.

            Okay, bit of bragging:

Nice to know sometimes the brain works.

Thanks Uschi for the update on Gail and Char.  I am so sorry to hear that Char has completely lost her speech.  Glad Gail is doing well.

????Char???? thinking of you and McKenzie.

Ellen sorry I missed your garden tour.  Such a cute little baby.  Your sister is amazing being able to keep it alive.  It may have injured it’s wing falling out of the nest.  Might be best for the sanctuary vet to assess it?

Doug glad you got to bowl.  Good that your friend can pick up your jacket.

Oooh, thunder rumbley just did it’s thing!  They are saying that it might rain on the famous Macy’s 4th of July fireworks.

Doris and I were hoping this year we might be able to go.  But no.  I spoke with her on Sunday after the zoom.  I thought she was being released that morning, but it turned out they  released her from the hospital at nine o’clock Saturday night!  Weird.  I’m glad I didn’t try to call Sunday morning because I would have been worried when she didn’t answer.  She said she slept all day.  I will call her today.

QS glad it’s just ear wax.  Here you can buy ear wax removal drops, or those kits with a syringe at the drugstore.  My swimmer’s ear drops both remove water and soften the wax.

Speaking of!  Yesterday on only my third day at the pool I managed to get through my 32 laps/half mile!  No lap swimming today.

            Betty I love your garden.

Gosh Nancy you are so good with your scaling up and down on your miniatures.

Well I seem to have taken up quite a bit of the wash, so :bye: :bye: to everyone.

            Later,

            Kay

Happy 4th of July to those who celebrate.   We slept in until 9:30 a.m.  I guess I am finally catching up with my sleep I lost over worrying about John’s recovery.

I have learned a hard lesson of just leaving the wax in my good ear alone.  So far, so good.  Of course, I go every 3 months to the ENT for them to take out any wax if needed. So far, there has been no build up.

We are going to have carry out from Outback Steakhouse.  Talk about being old.  We are going to order the large sirloin steak (since I only eat a small portion of steak) a baked potato and a sweet potato.   That will save us some money calories.  I can make us salads before I leave to pick up our dinner.

Last night, there was heavy rain to the north of us, we ended up with .11 inches of rain…just enough to get the dust off the plants.

Uschi, I am glad that Gail is doing good.  I was sad to read that Char has lost the ability to speak.

Steve, Lisa’s brother and family are starting a new adventure.  I hope his surgeon has told him to eat a low-fat diet.

            What everyone else has said!

Had my hamburger.  I do it with Big Mac type of ingredients and condiments.  Except my choice of beef is of much higher quality.  I use to work for Mickey D’s.  I also had some potato chips (crisps).  Since seed oils are not healthy oils, I order Boulder Canyon from Kroger shipping.  It’s made with avocado oil.  They also use coconut oil.

Kay, thanks for the update on Doris.  Sorry you’ll miss the firework,

Nancy, steak sure sounds good.  Must be better than store bought or I know you’d cook your own.  Glad John is doing so well.

Betty, does anyone there make their own beer?  Hence, growing the hops.

Char, I can sense your love.  No need to speak. ❤️

                    Good Afternoon!!

I have nothing interesting to say, just checking and responding :-)

After housework and lunch I had an hour long phone conversation with Rita who is still feeling fatigued after her bout with Covid three weeks ago. Then I did some knitting and after the Wash a bit of reading and a bit more knitting and then it will be dinner time and then hopefully it will be a bit cooler because I have to get milk from Zehrs. Aging – found out that Rita now suddenly can no longer digest garlic :negative:

Steve, hopefully it will all work out wonderfully for your nice and family,

Betty, I have been meaning to ask, how is the Pizza oven and hut working out??

Doug, you are getting lots of exercise, I think it warrants a :yahoo: from Lulu :-)

Kay, WOW  for your 32 laps, you must have been so happy that you could still do that after the winter months. Too bad about missing out on the Fireworks, hopefully next year!!! Sending good thoughts for Doris!! BTW, I checked the weather forecast to make sure there was no rain over night or I’d be in the same wet situation like you.

Nancy, they must be really large steaks, having said that, portions in general are really way to big – enjoy!!!!

Bill, you mean the hamburger and you copied Big Mac’s special sauce of mayonnaise and ketch up??? :-)

Hello all and  happy 4th fellow Americans.  Just got out of the pool with the little pups who seem to slowly getting used to water and their enclosed pool pad.  Right now they are running around as wet dogs usually do.  Diggity wanted to sleep on my gravity chair, (which they have taken over), but Mango wanted to play.

Very hot this week and no signs of any wind, (of course I am on vacation).  I did get in an awesome day of sailing this week, but I am quite unhappy waiting for more.  The water is so, so delightful!

Got in to a Total Gym fitness class, which I adore.  I’m off this week, so I will go everyday if there continues to be no wind.

Jack will start his unemployment but will start working for a different synagogue next month.  They love him, but it will be only part time.  He is looking for something to supplement it, he may go back to his original place for part time from them if he can work it on out.

They are basically still screwing him over, so he doesn’t have much faith or trust in them.

He basically has ended up with a dropped foot and neuropathy in on leg and still hasn’t found out why.  He will start PT soon and has a scheduled neurology appointment at the end of the month.

I have been doing better with my hip but only because I am taking added medication for pain and inflammation.  Going to the orthopedist this month.

Well hello to all and special hugs….been so, so busy and miss chatting daily.  Hope you all take care and are safe.

                    Talk again soon,

                    Adena

:bye:   A humid sticky day here, AC on all day.  Had to stake up my regular beans, all the moisture this year has them shooting up as they are blooming, very strange.  And the pole beans are almost at the top of their poles without any bloom yet    Maybe the new soil we added was too rich.

Had to remove my chard, too, it has a virus and I shouldn’t have been planting it more than 2 years in a row.  It is carried by leaf hoppers, I’ve just been lucky for 10 years!

No cricket here!  But I’ll be watching tennis.  Sadly one of ours is out already, and I think another will be gone soon.  The ladies will have to carry the load.

Got to see my kids dad today, looks like he will get to rehab if his Physio has anything to do with it!  I was pleased with the atmosphere in the ward, very busy and crowded, small rooms (perhaps initially intended as singles) but they make a point of putting the right people together in the rooms.  He has a lovely and determined lady in his which may help.  And he’s still able to joke with the staff, so that is a good sign.  I’ll go and see him next week when I’m back for chemo.

:yahoo: Kay!  All those laps

Good to see you Adena :-)

Have read all and enjoyed your news, I’ll see you in my tomorrow

Hi Adena, glad Jack got a new job where he’s appreciated.

Just checking in to see what you have all been up to. The doctor ordered an x-ray, MRI, and Physio. I can drop in anytime for the x-Ray but need to wait for an appointment for the MRI. I’ll decide on a physiotherapist after I hear the results of the x-ray so they know what the problem is.

????? I forgot to post it this morning.

I don’t have the boys tomorrow. They asked to stay with the other grandma at the cottage and swim an extra day. So I’ll go to the art club in the morning and meet two women to do ink resist batik on paper of butterflies. I haven’t tried that yet.

I’m going to look for some ice cream in the freezer. It’s over 27 in the house so I’m not moving much. And we can’t leave windows open tonight because it is supposed to rain around 11:00. I think I’ll stay up and wait for the rain to pass then open things up.

See you all in the morning.

Good evening.  It is still light here at 7:25 p.m.  Another hour of light, then the booming begins by stupid neighbors shooting off fireworks.

I have a valve/electrical issue with one set of sprinklers.  The new system detects it automatically.  I have a funny feeling, my neighbor who planted grass on property cut a line.  So, I have to call the sprinkler repair people.  GRRRR.

Kay, Once I make the 1:12 model.  I copy the group twice in the program.  Create a one inch square.  Add it to the group, and then resize the square to 1/2 and 1/4 inch.  It reduces everything without needing too much tweaking.  My friend from England figured that one out three years ago.

Bill, No, my steaks are better.  I just did not feel like cooking.  Clean up was easy.

Uschi, I only eat a small portion now sticking to my new diet.  I had grapes and watermelon after dinner.  I can no longer eat a large meal.

Adena, Thanks for checking in.  Have a wonderful vacation!  Great news for Jack being able to supplement his retirement.

Lynn, Wonderful that you were able to visit with your ex.  I am sure he appreciates it!  Hope your chemo effects start to lessen.

Ellen, I am so happy that you finally are going to find out what the problem is with your knee.  I hope your can get your MRI scheduled quickly.  I cannot blame the boys for wanting to swim at the lake during the hot summer days.

                        Have a great evening everyone.

Thanks Nancy, Lynn, and Bill.  And yes Bill, I have been “bad” for being away so long.  Actually Nancy, this wasn’t supposed to be his retirement, rather it was forced upon him…. I really would love to work part time and collect unemployment for the balance!!    :-(    Don’t think he was quite ready yet, especially since he loved what he was doing.

Nonetheless, yes Bill, it is nice to be where someone is welcomed, wanted, and appreciated even though not full time that he prefers.

Well, night, night those of you on eastern standard time or better…..(Nancy :-) ).
