QS, start her now and Miss Adorable could become the next female version of Jake Shimabukuro.

August 24, 2021 at 5:50 am #1430071A good Tuesday to all……..another killer day here, “Extreme Heat Advisory” for today, that means Heat Index of at least 110°, nothing happening today.
I’m thinking I might have done too much yesterday, even though I was back in the house by noon. We had shrimp scampi with roasted veggies for dinner. Lisa loves it, but it didn’t sit well with me and last night was mostly spent in the bathroom (thank gawd for the cold tile floor) thinking this is the way I’m gonna die…………………..today will definitely be an inside day. Heat exhaustion sneaks up on you even when you’re hydrating and taking breaks and I think I got way too hot yesterday. Be careful folks.
Mike………good to hear from you and glad you got to spend some quality time with your friends. Hoping your visit to the eye doc gives you some immediate relief.
Doug……enjoy the bowls today.
JJ……loving your videos and photos of the birds……..they simply make ours look drab.
Greetings to all here and those coming…..the cats are clawing my lower legs. BBL
Be good, do good…….remain vigilant and stay safe my friends.
Steve.

August 24, 2021 at 6:00 am #1430076I must be a Debbie Downer today. My diagnosis is not 100 % confirmed, but 95% probable… I have ALS.
We are gutted. But we’ll adapt to my changing condition and make the best of what we can.
Just be positive and your usual supportive selves. :grouphug:

August 24, 2021 at 6:02 am #1430077Good Morning!!
Hot and very humid, I am getting tired of saying that
No need to go to the store for anything but I do need to thoroughly clean the upstairs bathroom. Meant to do that yesterday but son decided to walk down, I can’t understand how he could possibly love to walk in this head with the sun shining right on him too I enjoyed the visit though.
In the evening, after dinner, I went on another adventure, this time to a large park right next to the river, lots of benches for in between hip stretches The many huge trees took the humidity away and it was lovely, especially watching the little ones in the playground. Lovely flowers too. This is the park right next to the Senior Centre and I looked at it longingly as I drove by.
Carol, thanks for the explanation!! Will let you know how it goes.
Again, Doug glad you had a good sleep and Bill sorry you didn’t!!
No grass cutting here, too hot and no rain for it to grow.
JJ, another lovely video and nice that you had such a long chat with Carol!! How are they doing, do they like it as much as they thought they would???
Annie, you described the twirling wind to perfection
Mike, you are becoming a social animal again Sorry about the eye, hope the treatment will work.
QS, singing in church is the best part Enjoy your visit with your friend!!
Sylvia and Joy to you!!

OH CHAR—-I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR THIS. One of those times when words don’t come. hopefully now that you have a diagnosis there can be a better treatment plan. Hoping that you can go home soon.
Well for me today I will break out that paint can & test a bit on the wall. I don’t know why I’m so nervous about this it’s just a cream color. For Pete’s sake.
Yes this week the temps are going to be horrible in our area. Hot Hot & Hotter.
Well I better get up & get started on the project.
Will check back later
Take care
Anita
August 24, 2021 at 8:13 am #1430111Char, so sorry to hear the diagnosis. Remember that love surrounds you.
It was a beautiful, cool and quiet morning to mow for an hour. My quiet electric mower allowed me to hear birds, the cows across the road and a dog barking in the distance.
Now to shower and get bananas for Janet and some paint removing supplies in town.

August 24, 2021 at 8:31 am #1430122Good morning, everyone~
Nothing much going on here, except the weather—hot, humid, with a chance of pop-up showers.
Char~ My heart and prayers are with you. A tough diagnosis! Have they checked you for Lyme disease? An acquaintance had both ALS and Lyme, and the Lyme just exacerbated all the symptoms. I’m holding you up in prayer! What could the other 5% be? Hopefully you have a new room or are back in Chatham. ?
Uschi~ you could double the recipe and bake it in a 9×13 dish instead, if you’re worried about having enough.
Stay safe shopping, Sylvia!
Hi, Mike!
Enjoy your garden time with your friend, QS. Singing in church is so uplifting. I’m glad you were able to manage it, mask and all. We will be masked again in church this next weekend. Delta—grrr!
Hi Doug, Bill, Steve, Anita, Joy, Lulu, JJ, Annie and anyone else I missed!
Stay safe out there!

C&C appreciatedAugust 24, 2021 at 8:33 am #1430123Oh Char, no words here, just :grouphug: :grouphug: I, too, hope you can get home soon with the right help.
A quiet, hot, day in view here, didn’t get out on the trail yesterday, just no breeze at 6. But did vacuum and plan some sewing and knitting, so some exercise was had….climbed the stairs twice And I am back to my hip and leg exercises, Uschi, I do the half bridge too.
Had a lovely talk this morning with my friend who likes to cycle up the hill to me, but we decided it is already too hot for her to do it today. She was just out to PEI last week, so I was refreshed with visions of her swimming in a lake there. I will try to get to our pool before the end of the week. But lots of Paralympics the CBC will broadcast on TV so I don’t have to hook up streaming.
Steve, we have had the heat warning ever since last week (again!) so I understand But never ‘extreme’ yet. You do an amazing amount anyway!
((((Mike))))
You will be fine, Anita, I understand the hesitancy….but it’s only paint. It is just like the ‘white paper’ block that many artists confront
Sounds like a lovely park, Uschi! the tall trees are the thing, aren’t they, a whole different micro-climate underneath. And good to see people active in the outdoors too. Also, there is skating this week again, on the same schedule as last week, but so far no links on YouTube, so I don’t know if there will be anything to watch there. On their online schedule it shows that some of the Canadian kids are staying for it.
A friend of mine has just been out to West Vancouver recently, where I used to live. It was lovely to see her photos on FB and revisit some of the familiar scenery. Even looking at such refreshing scenes helps me.
I hope you are over it soon, Lulu
Hi to everyone, and all to come!

I hope you can work out an easy way to move around. Ruth has a motorised wheelchair when she needs it.
We enjoyed bowls and I played better coming second.
Ruth went to her friends in the village on her scooter and I have just picked her up. Coming into the cul-de-sac a neighbour backed out of her drive in front of us and scraped the front wing. Not serious enough in both cases to call the insurance. Could have been much worse but I stopped dead.

We must leave our mark on this worldAugust 24, 2021 at 9:14 am #1430132Good Day Washers
Sorry, I have not been logging in for the last few days. I am still dealing with all Dan’s investments which he dealt with with so many forms to fill in. I really don’t know what I am doing so Mark is coming up for a day or two to get it all sorted out. Breathing a huge sigh of relief.Char, I am so sorry that you are back in the hospital Hoping they can figure out what is causing your breathing issues. Also wishing that someone gets discharged today so you or your roommate can be relocated to another room.
It poured rain yesterday morning and by some miracle cleared the humidity away so the rest of the day it was a perfect summer day. Hot and getting humid today.
I need to get the laundry put out on the line so waving to all
Cheers
GailAugust 24, 2021 at 9:17 am #1430133Uschi, here’s the info on the skating, Canadians in this week too, so look for the links on YouTube on the ISU site.
Hi Carol, we posted at the same time I guess. I expect you are enjoying your home time.
Cheers, Lynn

I had 10.5 hours of sleep last night. I took half a Xanax after dinner. So, I was quite groggy when I woke up. I am sure calm! Until I opened the Wash and read Char’s post.
Char, :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: There are no words, except I am so sorry. Take one day at a time!
We are going to the mall this afternoon to get some good exercise. Hi to everyone.
