Lol, Bill… you know Ms. Feral is the boss of everything’!
Love your photo, Lynn. I gave all my yarnbits to my sister.

August 23, 2022 at 9:45 am #1482847I am back. I did some research on sleeping with the knee replacement, since sleeping on my back inflames the nerves in my legs and aggravates my GERD. I watched a video on how to sleep on my side and the placement of the pillow to protect my new knee. I should have done this right after my surgery, but I was still too fogged up with meds.
I also research how to sit at my desk. If you could see me now, I hooked up my ice machine to my knee. I have a lumbar pillow on the seat of my desk chair. And a plastic storage container on the floor with a large feather pillow on top of it where I can rest my feet. So far, so good.
Anita, When I was still working, they gave us many goals to achieve for lower premiums the last couple of years. I really was in much better shape, because I walked all over the building delivery and picking up documents. Go for it. Now that the temperatures will only be in the 80s, I will be going for walks outside every afternoon.
Char, I am thankful that Ted’s doctor is looking out for him. I am sure that the hospital in London will have the team that can get him back to health. You are right, I received a message from a friend in East Texas telling me to be careful at 6:00 a.m. I had no idea what she was talking about until I looked at the local news. She got the storm last night, and I know that they lost their power. But since they have had rain all summer, the rain was not as bad. Our area had not had rain since May. Areas that were not sprinkled were like concrete, so the water had no where to go.
Lynn, Lovely photo of your daughter on vacation!
Have a great day everyone!

Anita, my health insurance company is trying to get me involved in exercise too, but I manage it by myself.

August 23, 2022 at 12:29 pm #1482854Hiya all,
Welllllll. My day got upended. I was supposed to have a Dr.’s appt. this afternoon. Around 11:30 this morning the phone rang. I saw it was the office, but when I picked up I was on hold. I held for awhile, but I could hear another call coming in as I held, twice actually. I knew it was the receptionist, so I hung up and calked them. All I got was a click and dead air. So I called again and got the message machine. I left a message although I was sure they wouldn’t get it. Went and looked at my cell phone. Yup. Called from that number. Message. Hung up.
I called every half hour for almost two hours. Finally got a live body. The doctor has to leave early. Did I want to do a telemedicine call? Ummm. I told her it would be a bit difficult to get a pneumonia shot by telephone and I needed a prescrip for bloodwork for my endo appt. in Sept. So finally made an appt. for Friday late morning. I also went ahead and scheduled an appt. next week for the lab, so I can be sure of getting in. ?on all that.
Uschi and Adena I put Salonpas patches on my groin muscle all the time. In fact I have one on now. That’s an old dance injury that keeps getting tweaked.
Uschi glad you finally got some rain. So did we!
Anita Happy Birthday to Keith! Can’t wait to see photos of all your work.
QS that’s a shame about the art store. I love stores like that. So much less antiseptic than chain stores. But dangerous to the pocketbook!
Ellen the roof looks great.
Lynn lovely photo of your DD. Great that you’re feeling like knitting again.
((((Char)))) I’m glad Ted is getting such great care and attention, but sorry he is being moved (farther away?). Have they vchecked for a UTI?
Lulu have fun with your line dancing. I guess John is back to his old self if he’s mowing three different lawns again.
Doug sorry Ruth got drenched. (You too QS!) Maybe a new topper would help?
Bill never mess with the eating schedule of her majesty. You will be punished.
Nancy I heard about the flooding in Dallas and immediately thought of you. Glad you are okay.
Sylvia has your doctor mentioned possibly using a knee brace until you can get a shot? Ace makes a soft one with stabilizers on each side. It’s very comfortable and easy to use.

August 23, 2022 at 2:16 pm #1482859Kay, doesn’t it seem like absolutely nothing in life is easy?
And thanks for reminding me about Ruth and QS… I did lol at their expense.I told McKenzie to drop me into my chair and wheel me outside for a nice warm shower! Too bad for the lightning.

August 23, 2022 at 4:37 pm #1482863Hi everyone. Cold Wednesday morning here.
Neighbours have a tree lopper in across the road cleaning up their yard, noisy. The wind blew all night so my sinus is screaming at me. ugh.
(((((Char))))) I am so sorry Ted is being moved. Did they say why? Big hugs to both of you.
My cleaning lady is here, later..

MY BLOG
My Youtube videosAugust 23, 2022 at 5:15 pm #1482866The original handrail plan didn’t work. It would be a long explanation but believe me, the angle of one part would have been ridiculous. I’ve redesigned it and it will be more secure, less intrusive in the space, and easier to attach. However, I need four more wall return brackets to finish. They have been ordered but in the meantime I have put up one rail of what will be three separate rails.
We also had the window guy in to measure and discuss what we eventually want for the last four large windows in the house that need replacing. He will give us separate estimates and then we need to decide our priorities and what the budget will allow. They won’t be ready to install until spring anyway. They don’t install from late November until about April. I’m going to get the dining room one done for sure and I’m hoping we can also do the wall of windows in our library. We are trying to get all the big projects done before Brian retires next June. Our hardwood floors will also be refinished next spring. We keep telling ourselves that all this money will come back to us when we eventually sell.
We went to Value Village and I found 3 jeans, two tops, and a bunch of boys clothes to have here for emergency messes or spills. Half the store was already empty but what I got was all 75% off. I even found matching bedding for the duvet cover I bought last week. Everything is washed and on the line.
Char – I hope transferring Ted will get him specialized treatment that will help him quickly. Lots of hugs to all of you.
The temperature is dropping and it is feeling damp. I better get the wash in. I’ll see you all in the morning.
August 23, 2022 at 6:59 pm #1482873It was a lovely day weather wise, a bit warm but the north wind helped to make it comfortable.
My achievements for today are normal housework, green soup, lots of research for hip and digestion LOL a bit of deadheading and watering the garden.
Lynn, your daughter is in Paris!! YAY!!! Is that their first time??? Great photo!!! That lightening was scary, glad the only issue was the fuse. I always turn anything electrical off when a storm is happening, I wonder if that would have helped. Glad you are knitting again, I am half way through a knitted slipper and it’s been sitting there for a couple of months, need to also get started again. Soon the stores will offer Christmas stuff in August, they all want to outdo each other. Have you ever considered one of those 2″ memory foams, they really do give. Yes, I saw the skating info, thanks!!!
((((Char and Ted))))))) What Ellen said about the move to the London Hospital, I sure hope they can help him get better sooner!!! I thought of you during your birthday week, was tempted to drive down but the sciatic nerve at the back of my right thigh plays up terribly when driving and I can’t even make it half an hour before needing to get out of the car to let it soothe down so 2 1/2 hours would have been impossible.. The left leg would be easier because I could move it around but I can’t take the foot off the gas to do that. re take meds for pain, yes but none are without side effects, I’d rather put up with it than ruin my liver or kidney or worsen my stomach, but there comes a point when I too will give in, today should have been the day because my back really hurt in spite of the exercises.
Nancy, I am visualizing you at your computer and smiling but whatever works!!!!
Kay, oh what a runaround, but lucky you figured it out anyway so you didn’t run off to the doctor for nothing. Those tweaked old injuries are a pain, literally, why can’t things just heal and be done with. Glad the patch works for you, I should have used one on my back today, never thought about it.
JJ, sorry your sinus is playing up and that it’s cold.
Ellen, that rail looks great, you did a good job. Yes, wise decision to get expensive things done before retirement. I can’t see you ever moving, you love your house too much!! Great buys at Value Village, are they closing????
Talking about retirement, I wonder how Darla and Larry are faring, probably loving it!!
TV time, not that there is anything decent on right now.
Good night!!
