My Youtube videosAugust 15, 2023 at 7:36 am #1522844HELLO EVERYONE
I just glanced over Monday’s posts & saw that Mike must have passed away. I really loved that guy. Him, Geoff & I could relate to the Retina issues. I’m just so sorry to hear this.
I had a busy weekend. On Saturday Keith & I did a deep clean of our living room. Moved furniture around, rolled up area rug, mopped the floors & dusted everything. It needed to be done.
On Sunday we went to an art event about 1/2 hr away. It was held at a very nice community venue called Lincoln Park. There were 115 booths with all kinds of art such as watercolors, oils, acryllic, mixed media, photography, pottery, jewelry etc, etc. We didn’t get to stay long as I apparently had a Diabetic event. I had eaten breakfast, taken my meds & given myself my Trulicity injection before we left. I had walked about a block to get into the event, sun was hot out. No pain from my hip which was good. We had looked at a couple of booths & I felt so hot & I sat down on a low wall that people were sitting on. I had Keith get us a bottled water. I continued to feel not good. I thought maybe if I had something like a smoothie to bring up my blood sugar I would be OK. All Keith could find was an Italian ice so I had 2 teaspoons of it & I said I think I need to leave.
As I was walking thru the venue to get to the park entrance it was like my hearing was turned down. Like someone turned the radio down. I kept walking & we made it to the sidewalk but I had to sit down or fall down. Keith tried to help me up but I could not stand. Plue he does not know how to assist someone the right way I discovered. I have since taught him. lol
A couple walking into the venue saw us & came to help. The woman talked to me & she touched my forearm & said you a very clamey. I told her I was Type 2 Diabetic & I had given myself my injection before we left the house. Of all the people that were there on Sunday I got a Nurse. My guardian Angels were watching out for me I believe.
Her & her husband helped me stand up & he got a chair for me & Keith went to get the car. They waited with me & she took care of me. We talked while Keith was gone. I have never had this happen. She helped me in the car, gave Keith some directions, she even put my seatbelt around me.
Once the air was on me in the car I felt better & drank some water. Within minutes I was OK. After I got home & could think straight I think that the walking which is exercise used up my reserve & the injection lowed my BS too low.
I am so Thankful to the couple & the Nurse that helped me. That was no accident. I rem saying to her “OH, You’re the Helper. Always look for the Helpers. I was a Helper too.”WOW!!! I wasn’t thinking too clearly but got that right.
So Monday I had PT & the therapist agreed with me that the walking burned up my BS reserves. I took yesterday to just relax & this incident has made me think about a few things.
I have now entered all my Health info into my cell phone & I am ordering a Medical Alert Bracelet to wear. I will be getting some Glucose tablets to carry with me.
Well that’s my story & I’m sticking with it. Doing fine but it did shake me up a bit.
Everyone take care
Anita
August 15, 2023 at 8:19 am #1522850Steve, My friend in Spain absolutely loves living on the Med coast. Hot during the summer, but beautiful the other three months.
Anita, I have had that happen also while walking. I kept having those attacks for 2 years, until they figured out my heart problem PVC. The hearing part is so crazy. Then your feet feel like bricks. I willed myself to the car, got in and had John turn on the air full blast. Good planning to update your cell phone and ordering an alert bracelet.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."- EinsteinAugust 15, 2023 at 8:22 am #1522851everyone,
My morning has flown and nothing accomplished. I was chatting with my son about politics.
It’s sunny and will go up to 24. I have the grass to cut later when it dries from dew (it went down to 7 last night) and I have a hair cut appointment this afternoon. I need to cook up two hello fresh meals today as I get another box tomorrow. I can freeze some. I wasn’t feeling well yesterday afternoon and had a two hour nap in my chair. I didn’t feel like cooking so just had a BLT from Tim Horton’s for supper.
Anita – I have started getting low blood sugar when out shopping. I have granola bars in my car and gym bag if I feel it coming on. I’m not diabetic but it usually happens after a high carb meal which causes a big dump of insulin which crashes my blood sugar.
Uschi – I’ll get the painting on there soon. Right now it just looks like a jumble of abstract shapes. LOL

?????Bill – you don’t need to leave your iPad plugged in all night for updates. Plug it in, go to settings and tell it to update now. When it’s updated you can unplug it.
I better get moving or nothing will get done today. I hope you all have the best day possible.

August 15, 2023 at 9:01 am #1522861Good day all! Cool here today and some rain off and on, much like Uschis weather. Thanks for the good wishes re the chemo, it is becoming routine and I just get through it, thinking of the good three weeks coming up
That’s a good point about the batteries, I often leave my tablet or my phone plugged in overnight.
Quite the experience, Anita. I’m glad your “angel” came along
Nice easy pattern in that dance, Lulu, I’ll have to try it, thanks. The one I wanted to show you is done to ‘Above the Rainbow’, but we do it with no turns, in a circle instead Love the music. The dance I did when I was 11 was to ‘The Irish Washerwoman’, another sprightly tune.
Sounds like a good decision, Doug.
You have my mouth watering Nancy!
I think the same thing is happening to me, Ellen, first thing in the morning. Some orange juice helps me to get breakfast made and once I’ve eaten, then I’m OK.

Nancy, that pie looks so good. I watched the whole episode late last night too. I don’t understand how people can still back him after all the crooked things he’s done.
Steve, I might start studying Spanish as Spain looks better all the time. I’d love Ireland but they want to tax the hell out of me. One drawback, we’d lose our Medicare for moving anywhere out of the country. And, at my age I probably wouldn’t be accepted anyway as my possible future health problems would be too expensive for them to cover.
Ellen, thanks for the tip. Now I’m thinking BLT for lunch.

August 15, 2023 at 9:37 am #1522866I can relate Anita, I know the feeling. I was helping out at U3a once when I felt very tired and passed out on a bench, waking to find two doctors and an ambulance there. The doctor says I am not diabetic. Glad to see you are now more prepared.

We must leave our mark on this worldAugust 15, 2023 at 11:10 am #1522870Steve, most of the GOP lied for him after the last election and are now between a rock and a hard place.
Just about anyone who had anything to do with him is dragged down in the dirt with him or for him.Oh Anita, an Angel was definitely right there for you!!! Very scary. I remember Char feeding jam to Ted. I too have weak times and am never sure if it is sugar or low blood pressure, I do always have mint candies in my bag. One thing I have learned for sure, if my insides feel jittery then I need water, but that is different. I am glad you are prepared in case it ever happens again.
Hi Ellen!!!
Lynn, “Above the Rainbow” would slow it down a bit LOL
I don’t understand how people can still back him after all the crooked things he’s done.
Bill, people hear what they want to hear and see what they want to see and totally ignore anything else. We are probably no different except we hear and see the RIGHT stuff

August 15, 2023 at 12:24 pm #1522881Uschi, I think they are just in love with him. They wish they were bullies too. Also, being republican is like having a religion, they just can’t stop believing. And Christians that follow him are just plain hypocrites. Most have never even read the Bible. I could rant a whole lot more.

August 15, 2023 at 2:21 pm #1522906Lynn, Hope that you are back home again recovering from your treatment. ((()))
Uschi, All those politicians that are supporting him are either getting paid under the table, or he who cannot be named has something on them that would compromise their elected positions.
It is only 93˚ outside, and so nice to be out. Unfortunately, only one more cool day, then back to the ovens. Have a good evening. I am having fun creating a new mini.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."- EinsteinAugust 15, 2023 at 8:22 pm #1522923Owners of iPads and iPhones can leave them charging overnight. As long as you are using official Apple chargers and cords. When fully charged, it automatically turns off. I had to research that and finally found the time when I left the studio.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."- EinsteinAugust 15, 2023 at 8:57 pm #1522924That’s interesting, Nancy. But don’t have it charging under your pillow as a lot of young people do. Or under anything, it increases the heat.
The reason for not doing it at night, is, I guess, because it’s unattended , and you won’t smell it or see it before it’s too late. Apparently lithium battery fires are very hard to put out.
Thanks (((Lynn))). Loved the dance.
Anita, hugs for you too. Scary.
Just waiting for a break in the showers so I can go out. Have made some little egg custards in ramekins for a couple of people who are feeling poorly.
Nancy, that looks delicious!
