Good morning everyone, just checking in.  I did have an ear infection, so I am on antibiotics.  I have my eye doctor appointment on Thursday afternoon.  Then the following week John has elbow surgery.  He will be able to drive again a week after surgery.  This is going to be a much easier surgery for both of us to handle.

Doug, I was so sorry to read about Ruth having caught a bug.  It can happen so fast.  I am glad the ambulance was able to help you get her ready for transport to the hospital.   Wonderful news that she can come home today.

Bill, Happy to read that Janet is feeling much better again.

JJ, Alan is his own worst enemy.  Diet changes are hard, but are an easy way to avoid painful, open wounds.

Annie, Wonderful news that Roger is moving to a nursing home system.  It will be hard getting him settled in.  Hopefully, a bed will become available closer to home.

Anita, You had me at anything Beatles.  I just bought two new Beatles t-shirts for John for Father’s Day.  With the Mirage closing for demolition, the Beatles Store will be no more.  It was always that highlight of our trip to Vegas.

QS, I hear you about gearing yourself up to take on a project.  Right now, I have no gearing up energy.  I do a few things each day, and then rest up.  We have company visiting on Saturday from Austin, TX.  My youngest daughter’s BIL and SIL.  They are traveling through Dallas to attend a James Taylor concert in Oklahoma.  They are such a fun couple.  I have to have the house half-way decent.

Hi to everyone I missed, time for a hearty protein filled breakfast.

        Good Morning!!!

Bright sunshine and a high of 20C.

        Painting with Jeanette this afternoon.

I have been keeping an eye on the Barometric Pressure because I have been wondering if the weather really has an influence on my arthritic back and the interesting thing is that the opposite of what I thought is happening for me. I always thought that if the pressure is up and the weather is great the pain should ease but what I found is that I feel best when the pressure goes down and stays down. Weird!! Does that make any sense??????

Doug, not a nice start to Ruth’ birthday but I am so glad to read that she is on her way home again and feeling much better. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUTH!!!!!!!

JJ, sorry to hear about Alan’s ulcer, I don’t know much about diabetes but if it isn’t controlled can they not up his insulin???? I hope the antibiotics work!!!

Annie, HUG for you and Roger and wish and hope that a close by home comes available VERY soon. People here were in uproar when about a year ago they started discharging patients from hospital and putting them in far away nursing homes until something closer comes up. It’s obvious that Loki is disgusted at the situation.

Bill, so glad to read that Janet is feeling better. The only thing that seems to really help my back pain is LOW barometric pressure LOL Glad the Aspercreme works for her.

Sylvia, you did very well with so much scrubbing, that is quite the wall and it looks pristine on this older photo. re the hose, what a frustrating nuisance.

QS, your poor grandson, although proud he must have felt soooo nervous. I always wonder if having parents and grandparents there to watch and support the children makes is better or worse because after all, it is the parents etc. they want to most impress. So great that all went so well!!!!! Good luck with your upholstering :-)

Anita, what a fun concert!!! ” Come on let’s twist again” Chubby Checker – such fun!!!! Not Beatles but since you mentioned the twist LOL You and Keith are already excellent neighbors to the newcomers!!!!!! I have my shot in the eye tomorrow.

QS, no you haven’t missed me, I slept in a bit and this is already a very busy Wash and it is taking me time to respond.

Nancy, I will repeat Lynn’s signature line, Leonard Cohen, “ring the bells that still can ring, forget the perfect offering”, so apropos for many of us :-) Sorry about your ear infection!!! Glad that John’s elbow surgery seems easier than expected.

A good Tuesday to all……..another nice day temp wise ahead of us.  By the coming weekend we’re in  the mid to upper 90’s.  Next week they’re saying 100+……. :-( :-(

Only plans today will be moving dirt from truck bed to rose bed and maybe mowing the yard.

Doug…..sorry to hear about Ruth’s problems, but thankful she’s coming home.  HAPPY  BIRTHDAY RUTH!

JJ…..sorry to hear that Allan’s ulcers are still delaying his surgery.  Not an uncommon result of diabetes that can result in amputations if individuals don’t change their habits in the battle to control it.  I have a good friend that his father didn’t change his habits…..then he lost his toes on his right foot. Then it was his foot, when they told him his lower leg up to just above his knee had to come off, it finally got his attention.  That was almost 10 years ago…..he changed his life habits, dropped nearly 100 lbs, and now he’s an advocate for the large community health/active senior center’s diabetes treatment outreach program.

Bill……..hoping Janet’s ailment  is resolved quickly.

Annie……..thank you, even I got a good laugh with that.  Bad timing though, I had just taken a sip of my coffee and my monitor caught most of it, but it’s nice and clean now.  So much for AI speech to write feature……when my hand coordination is off I use it and sometimes the results are quite hilarious.  This is one to add to that list for sure.

Time to get moving…..Greetings to all here and coming, have a blessed day, evening or night .

        Steve.

Good morning friends.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUTH  (I beat you  by a month).  So glad you are able to come home.

Annie, glad there is some stability in your life.  Why is it that when there is a perfectly clear uncarpeted area, cats always prefer carpet to barf on!

SIL finally had his first eye done yesterday and it went well.  2nd one is  now scheduled for mid July.

            Take care all,  Betty

            :bye: everyone,

Busy this morning. Drove the boys and saw my son packing his RAV for another business trip. He asked me to get Brian over with his air compressor to inflate my DIL’s van tire which was half down. We got the compressor loaded in the truck and that job is done.

Odds and ends done here, washing is on the line, my brother and SIL are on the way but won’t get in until this evening. My sister texted to say the construction behind her house must have hit a water pipe because she got a boil water notice last night but had no water at all this morning. They are working on it. She is coming for a visit tomorrow so she can shower here.

Brian is in the driveway trying to see if his boat motor still works. He is thinking of selling it and the boat. His friend has a big pontoon boat they always use for fishing.

I have a menu worked out for the week but I have to hear from my brother which days they will be here for meals. I have to pick up some groceries this afternoon.

Doug – what a scare for you both. Glad Ruth is home and happy birthday to her.

Annie – I’m glad you finally have a solid path forward. I hope he can be transferred closer sooner rather than later.

Bill – I hope Janet feels better soon.

Steve – you are always so busy with your project’s.

Time is ticking and I need to get moving again.  Enjoy your day.

                Good morning!

Late morning Wednesday here and expecting a man to come and service our security system soon so can’t linger.

Glad Ruth is home again Doug. I did wish her a happy birthday on t’other place but just in case she missed it – happy birthday Ruth!

And, if I am reading your post correctly Betty, belated happy birthday to you too!

Glad things are clearer for you both Annie.

Steve, re gangrene and amputations…..my father had one foot and the other lower leg amputated, prior to the surgery his pain was such that my mother hid his hunting rifles.

A cold day here at 13C, have got the house toasty warm.

John has enjoyed his coffee meet this morning after 2 weeks absence!

Security guy has gone, everything checked and all working well. Gary Cat did not like the piercing sound of the final test! Mutual cuddling settled us both!

Meant to say, my dad didn’t have diabetes but arterio/atherosclerosis that led to the gangrene.

Nancy, all the best to John for his surgery, and gentle hugs for you.

Glad Janet is feeling better, Bill.

Anita/Uschi – I still have my Beatles t-shirt from our trip to Liverpool with Doug.  Oh mentioning Chubby Checker and the twist – loved it!

My all time favorite from that era and still is…… Lulu!!!! :yahoo:

Waving to all I missed, have to head out the door now. :bye:
