Good morning Geoff, good evening Lulu.

There’s one Moule I like Lulu :)

Well. I’m up early as I had to give birthday girl her breakfast at 6 am. She is having general anaesthetic today for her cataract surgery this afternoon and can’t eat after six.

Dull, grey and windy here and we are expecting heavy rain later.

Doug

Morning all. Happy Birthday to Ruth, and my best wishes for a quick recovery from surgery.

June, I loved that video you posted about the little boy in “conversation” with his daddy. So cute.

Char, thank you for passing on the news about Linda. Our paths crossed on threads about buying art supplies.

Sharon, loving your photos.

I’m off out to meet three girlfriends for coffee at the local garden centre.

Good Morning all,

It’s 5:30 a.m. here in getting light Oakwood. Birds are singing happily and noisily outside our windows. Wonderful Spring day in store for us today temp wise. :D

We’ll do some grocery shopping at Kroger’s this morning.

I finished my downy woodpecker painting in class yesterday. Nita has been talking about the triads she featured in her newest book Exploring Color Workshop with some of the newer members of the class. She suggested we pick out a triad to use for our next painting and see what we can do with it. I think I’ll give it a go. First, I’ll reread the chapter in the book. :D

Geoff, That sounds so delicious to me: French Soup and Moules. Yummmmm.

Doug, Happy Birthday to Ruth. Clear vision is a wonderful birthday present. I hope all goes well with her procedure today. :D

Lulu, That is a beautiful part of the country your sister is in. :D

 to all,

My heart goes out to Linda and her family. I have some wonderful memories with Linda and goats. She and I swapped paintings. Doug I am glad you have one too.

Good luck with the surgery, it should be all over by now, I hope xx

JJ, Our phone plan is called a “lease”, but we are actually buying our phones over a two-year period. We have limitless services and are in the senior’s plan with the company. Even renting our two phones and adding the services, we are playing half what we were paying with another carrier. Make sure you check out the carrier company’s ratings for services.

That is how ours work too. I am already on a plan for my phone, I have had it for one year. I now have the option to upgrade, and if I do go for the Samsung10+ the monthly plan will be cheaper than what I am paying now. Leasing is cheaper than the two year pay to own plan.

When the next new phone comes out I get to upgrade again so simple.

I will go to my local Optus store, as I am never going back to the Carina.

I use paper bags when purchasing loose fruit and veg and recently one supermarket chain has followed suit.

I use reusable mesh bags for my fruit, I bought mine in New Zealand.
I have reusable nylon bags I bought from Woolworths for my groceries. The 99cent ones.

Tracey, yes I did find all the information I needed on the wool. I forgot about the information being on the labels. I also have forgotten how many balls of wool are needed for the projects I want to do, so it was a quick google search :) I now have enough wool for three projects :)

June what a beautiful photo. I love hummingbirds. The first ones I ever saw where at Mary-lou house. (the lady with the pink Cheshire cat for her avatar) They kept me entertained for many hours.

Lovely photos Sharon.

I took Alan over to the hospital for yet another cat scan this morning, and when he came out he was smiling. They reviewed the cat scan done last week, and the one today, and told him everything seemed pretty ok. His biggest worry is all the fluid his body is retaining.

His change of blood pressure medication helped some, they moved him off coveram onto a new type. His right leg still swells some, it did today, because he didn’t wear his stockings, and had to walk some distance from the car park to the hospital, up hill too. I asked him why, and he said because he had to take them off for the cat scan. He can’t bend over. He is so unfit, he has compromised balance, and has to lie of the bed to get his socks on. He is only 67/8

I had better move myself, dishes to wash….

Good day all,

A warm and sunny day ahead.

Happy Birthday Ruth. Nice to have clearer vision for a birthday present.

Sadly, after the storm that brought a heavy downpour of nearly 5 inches of water, our hummingbirds have vanished. Only one was seen a few days ago.

Janet heard that eating a kiwi before bedtime would encourage a good sleep. So that’s what we did and we both slept well.

I’ll take advantage of the good weather and mow a lot today.

Good Morning!!

A bit on the cool side this morning but brilliant sunshine and a high of 20C.

Not the best of sleeps, post nasal drips going down my throat and making me cough,

I have two white Ikea love seats and an easy chair with removable covers for washing.. I take them off about every two years and today is the day. Ten cushions and three covers, I’ll take the covers to the laundromat and do the cushions at home. I’ll be busy and not a fun job.

Doug, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RUTH!!!!!!!!!!! So glad that her cataract surgery wasn’t delayed. I am sure all will go perfectly but even so :crossfingers: :crossfingers:

Lulu, I’ll have to check your sister’s FB again.

JJ, have fun with your knitting. Good news for Alan.

My store provides brown paper bags for mushrooms right next to the mushrooms why can’t they do the same for any other vegetables??? My shopping bag has many old clear plastic bags in it that I have reused for vegetables many times.

Kay, thank you for the link about the avocado pit. Clever people came up with the brilliant idea for plastic and clever people will find the way to replace it:thumbsup:

Tracy, I hope your trip to San Jose is a good one, flight wise and content wise.

June, cute video, I saw it before.

Sharon, gorgeous photos!!

Annie has gone missing:confused:

Geoff, Bill and Sylvia  to you and I wish us all a good day!!

To tell you the truth I am missing my sister very much and will be glad when she is home.
So will her family.
It’s usually us away and then I don’t think of anyone wanting us to come home lol

Dear Linda. I hope she is comfortable. How courageous she has been.

From the very beginning John’s dad never liked plastic anything. He would be a happy man.
Plastic bags do have their uses though.

Line dancing today. Love love love….
Learning is no problem now and it is quite wonderful when a beautiful dance just flows and you havent stuffed up once,! Lol I darent let my mind wander though or then I miss a step or three.

Wednesday night is italiana class and I love the learning. So fun with the class. We have 3 more lessons with this current class then I have registered for the next stage too.

I wonder what is in the kiwi, Bill?
Where are yours grown?

I’m off to bed with a kiwi now :D

 everyone,
It’s mostly sunny right now but more rain expected. The high will be 17. I just got a wash on the line to dry before it starts.

I have my monthly Skype meeting online this morning, housework to finish, and maybe errands to run. I’m also trying to decide if it’s a good time to plant the Hollyhock seedlings.

I’m so sorry to hear of Linda’s worsening condition.

Happy birthday Ruth and I hope you recover smoothly from surgery.

Uschi – your house will glow with bright light after the laundry is finished. :)

I need to move the cat on my lap and get back to work. Enjoy your day.

 A lovely day here, I am still doing my late spring cleaning, now much more slowly! But the sun and the breeze help. Hope to get a walk today after someone comes to pick up a 0 gravity chair I am selling….got an xl size, way too big and heavy for me! Had some vague idea of sleeping in it when camping, but now have a camp bed that will be better.

Thanks for the hugs, I am feeling a bit better, the bruises are at their most colourful stage but the knees still work

Your lovely room will sparkle, Uschi!

A busy day for you Doug. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RUTH! I hope all is going well there :grouphug:

Good morning. Hot and hotter is the weather forecast for the rest of this week.

Doug, So glad that Ruth was able to keep her original appointment for surgery. Please wish her a very Happy Birthday! :grouphug: Ruth for a successful surgery.

Tracy, The Model 4 Apple Watch can be a stand alone phone. I can answer my phone on my Model 3 as long as the phone is in range and make an emergency phone call from it to 911. Hope you have a safe trip and good meeting in San Jose.

Uschi, I remember you washing the covers a few years ago. Everything in your house is going to sparkle by the time you get finished.

JJ, Our “lease” plan is the same. We can upgrade every year to the newer model Apple phone if we want to. I like that we do not have dead paperweight phones lying around in drawers.

Last night I designed silverware that is less than an inch long. I cut them out of vellum, and it worked. I will cut them out of thin plastic today and color them with a silver magic marker. I will have silverware on demand now for mini scenes. I am waiting for John to awake before I go into the studio and start making noise.
