Good Morning!!!
It was freezing over night but more sunshine and a high of 12C. The view from my upstairs window is glorious, the frosty white roofs against the bright oranges and reds of the forest that were just lit with the morning sun.
Routine day for me, I like routine days Scrabble at superbaker’s house.
Juergen belongs to the Barbershop Singers and they were performing for a charity event. This used to be a church and now cooks about a hundred daily meals for the homeless. Interesting event – artisans donated soup bowls made out of ceramic or wood and local restaurants donated a variety of soups. Entrance fee was $ 50 (remember, for charity ) and participants used the bowls to taste the different soups. At the end they could take the bowls home with them.
Doug, sorry about the discomfort ((())) The MRI for your back should be happening any day now. I hope by seeing exactly what the problem is it can be healed.
JJ, weird how some days we feel off for no apparent reason. Hopefully you are up to par again today. The plants look lovely. The Missionaries are such a wonderful help. Also so glad the birds are back, still wondering what on earth happened to suddenly keep them away.
Anita, our stores are still filled with Halloween stuff but the very next day they will be filled with Christmas stuff. You are brave going to bed so early knowing that you will be up in the middle of the night. Enjoy your art group, hope you get good news about your friend.
QS, I really shouldn’t have signed up for the Sketching Event because I don’t have the time to really enjoy the offerings. Kind of too many, becomes a bit overwhelming. I too had a good visit with my friend.
Nancy, I repeat, such wonderful news!! Theft in stores has become very common. Many stores now have gates so you can’t get out without paying and even so many somehow manage. Audrey’s sister works in a liquor store and tells us that people walk out with unpaid bottles in their hand and are told not to stop and chase them because it is too dangerous.
Ellen, fun event, so how do they renew the old brushes????
Lulu, I too use and like the self check out.
Bill, I agree, self check out does cost people’s jobs. I guess I like them because I am a very independent person and like doing my own thing Nice photos!!! I wish I had a good camera so I could show you what I see.

October 24, 2024 at 8:17 am #1563537A good Thursday to all……warmer this morning, they’re calling for a high in the upper 80’s. Cold front comes in over the weekend and we’ll cool off considerably.
Well I think we’ve made a decision on the staining process for the island top………there isn’t going to be any. Everything test we did just accentuated the orange sap rings in the cedar wood. We decide just to seal it with 4-5 coats of the clear polyurethane leaving it natural. Sometimes the most simple solution is the best.
I’m worried about this election….people have become so accustomed to instant gratification and don’t seem to comprehend that economic change isn’t instant. You can’t just issue an “Executive Order” and get lower prices or cost in areas like food, housing, utilities………and that’s what many believe Trump will pull off………if he wins, America and the rest of the world will be a far different place…and it won’t be for the good.
Nancy…….such great news. I’m so happy for you.
Bill……love the photos. Trees here are just starting to turn, still more green than color.
Breakfast and meds calling……Greetings to all.
Steve.
