Good morning all, still no sleep!
I’ll ring the doctor today.
Have a good get together with your friends Lulu.

We must leave our mark on this worldAugust 22, 2024 at 1:10 am #1559177Good evening all.
Good idea Doug, I hope you get some answers.
Alan is doing well. They got him up and he walked 10 steps. He is out of ICU and on the ward now. He is very groggy. I rang him, and he told me not to visit. Hmmmm I will be definitely going tomorrow night with Tania. He sounded OK though.
It was a nice day here, sun was shining, and I got to do a little pruning. After four pot plants I was beat, but it sure felt good. I cleaned out the three bird baths, and fed the birds this afternoon.

Doug, hope you can get that sleeping pill and that it will give you some rest.
JJ, now it’s time to take care of yourself. Get some rest.
I need to do some shopping this morning, just one egg in the house and milk is low. I have a list.

?????Doug, you must be exhausted, and I think the longer this goes on the worse it’s going to get. You’re out of the habit of going to bed and falling asleep. Have you considered an audio book? There is probably an App for sending you to sleep, or a hypnosis type thing. I once had a Paul McKenna book that came with a CD. It wasn’t aimed at putting you to sleep, but it was so relaxing that I nodded off every time I played it.
JJ, that’s good news about Alan, and I’m pleased to hear that you’re taking things easier too. Your energy will come back if you give it a chance.
I’m taking my own advice, and having a very lazy day, as since we got back from our cruise, which involved a lot of sightseeing, we’ve had ES and family to stay, immediately followed by all 4 grandchildren. YS collected Miss A yesterday morning as she was booked in for an activity day. We took the boys home last night and stayed for dinner, and a catch up with MS and Dr DIL.
In the absence of Miss A, who bosses them about, my beloved thought the boys were a bit bored yesterday morning, so in between baking bread and recovering a booster cushion for the car, I organised a “design your own bookmark” challenge. Each boy was given 3 blank bookmarks and a selection of drawing and colouring materials and when they finished Grandad judged the results. GS1 really got into it and GS2 said when I suggested it that they really needed more bookmarks. Master C finished first, so we looked at old photographs on my iPad until the others caught up. Everyone got a prize.
With a freshly baked sourdough loaf, it was build your own sandwiches for lunch with pork loin, chicken, roast beef and cheese to choose from, plus secluded raw mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and carrot batons on the side. Master C created 2 open sandwiches with his bread and use a bit of everything except tomatoes. It’s a wonder he could pick them up. GS2 had seconds but stuck to cheese and tomato. GS1 has just one sandwich but finished off the chicken afterwards. We have a small amount of pork, some cheese, and a little bit of bread for our lunch today!
After lunch we took them to Ashton Park where they fed the ducks while trying to avoid the seagulls and pigeons. We then headed to the playground and they had their afternoon snack there so that when we got home we just had to look for their belongings to make sure they had everything, and then head off.
I have the hairdressers this afternoon, which will be fun. The boys will be back next week.
Greetings to All.

August 22, 2024 at 4:39 am #1559184I really wish we had grandchildren around us QS, they really keep you on your toes. Our grandson is 3,000 miles away so we saw little of his childhood.
Thanks for the sleep advice, I put the radio on but there is nothing there to relax you apart from Classic fm.

August 22, 2024 at 5:54 am #1559190everyone,
I pick up the boys after lunch and they will be here for 4 days. This morning I have some gardening to do and some online work. My sister and I are also going to go through the chest freezer to sort through the leftover Xmas baking which will then be organized and plans made on how to distribute them. In two months I have to start baking for this year’s Xmas. I’m sure the art club members will appreciate the cookies at open studio.
I need to get breakfast so I hope you all have a happy day.

My Youtube videosAugust 22, 2024 at 6:09 am #1559192Good Morning!!!!
Lovely weather day, sunny and a high of 23C.
Well, Thanks to the shot in the eye yesterday was a loss. It’s amazing how being blurry eyed affects my whole body, I feel off
Scrabble today, looking forward to seeing the ladies.
Doug, no sleep in spite of the sleeping aid pill??? Just a thought and I don’t know if it would help but have you tried meditation tapes?? There must be many on You Tube or other sites. Anyway, I just really hope you can get back to your old self, in every way.
JJ, I am so glad Alan is doing well. From what I understand this was a major surgery and recovery will be slow. Take this time for rest and relaxation.
Bill, how far is it to your nearest grocery store???
QS, you are right, you have been VERY busy. Stopping the children from being bored is quite the job and you and your beloved are doing such a good job!!! Your lunchtime offerings make me hungry!!! I too laughed about the lost octopus
Annie, a new beginning and new furnishings in the house will help along as well as the blossoms and the lengthening days (((()))))
Lulu, knowing you this will be a birthday week, enjoy!!!! Great attitude about the large floater. I had one after the shot yesterday but am so glad it is gone today.
Ellen, enjoy the time with your sister!! How is she liking her new living arrangements??? I admire your composure with the mouse right next to you Just saw your post, our Superbaker has the same dilemma with her baking but we do help out But since she loves to bake she wants to bake new stuff for when we get there and the cookies stay in the freezer
Anita, how did the art in the sketchbook go???? They sure have excellent speakers at the DNC!!!
Lynn, yes, there is the problem, you have to clean before the cleaner comes. That is why I don’t have one LOL
