JJ, thanks, I love the Galah.  I understand they can imitate sound quite well.

They do indeed, and they can talk if one teaches them.

Uschi, Chile I believe, aand, devastating flooding in Lybia.  That was a beautiful memorie of Char.  I have lots too.  At the moment The Niagara Falls page on FB is very active.  I have beautiful memories of when Char  and Ted took us there.  Also Denis took me there in the winter.

Steve, I hope you work out the camper woes.  I love camping, but haven’t done it in years.  Not much fun on ones own, and dangerous.

Anita, you reminded me I must sort out my fish pond garden.  I want to turn it into a wildflower garden.

    Good night all.

Past Lives is a very moving movie and am sure it will win some awards.

Cooled off a little here at only 70˚ this morning.  Still sore from therapy.  Fall does not hit here until late October or November, depends on Mother Nature.

        :bye: again,

Just back from Physio and no more appointments needed. I can make an appointment if it gets worse. He said just keep up with the gym and pool. Not much they can do about osteoarthritis.

I have to see how much Xmas baking is left in the freezer. I have to use up last years before I make more next month. Our art club has its business meeting tonight so I’ll bring a plate full. I have to get the wash on the line, make an early supper, bring Brian’s truck in to get a new mirror put on (the silvering started peeling off the old one), and some emails to answer.

Worrying news. Ash has what he thought was a hemorrhoid for a week but had a slight fever, night sweats, and the pain was so bad under his tailbone he had trouble walking or sitting. I finally convinced him yesterday to call his doctor to see if she wanted him to go in to have it checked. She told him to come in and then sent him to the ER to see if he needed to have an abscess drained. The ER gave him two IV meds, did bloodwork and CT and told him it is about 3 cm on all sides and needed draining. Then they decided it was too complicated to do in ER so he has to have surgery. He was held there overnight and is waiting for a time for the OR. His big worry was that his phone is going to go dead. He didn’t bring a charger because he thought he was just going to the doctor. He will need someone to drive him home after and that’s hard to arrange without a phone. He texted this morning that his girlfriend is going to the hospital this morning and will get him home (and I assume bring a charger). He is also supposed to drive to Ottawa tomorrow for a movie shoot.

Steve – we had a pop up camper but it was a manual. You had to go to each corner and lift it up. It sounds like yours goes up but one corner doesn’t go all the way and lock? Could it be manually lifted and a bolt added to hold it in place?

I better get the laundry on the line and check the freezer in the garage for treats for tonight. I’ll let you know how things go with Ash when I hear anything.

Sorry to read about Ash Ellen. I hope all goes well for him tomorrow.

Ellen, I know personally that there is no cure for osteoarthritis, but eventually the pain subsides some.  When mine gets bad I take a pill.  I hope Ash can make it to Ottawa.  Hate to see him miss out on the job.

Adena hopefully there is no next time, but, if so, tomato juice. When we lived in Massachusetts my parents used to let the dogs run free, no fences. They were skunked more than once according to my mom. She would put them in the bathtub and wash them down with tomato juice (can you still buy that?) and rinse. Apparently it works.

No news here except it’s cooler and no humidity or rain.

                Hello all,

Anita…right now the hip surgery is delayed, as the orthopod said I am doing so much that I can always delay a year or two.  I overdid my “coming back from the steroid injection” and was in horrible discomfort for a few days and more minor stuff now.  If it doesn’t come around in due time, I may be faced with more imminent surgery.

Thanks to all for their bike suggestions.  Actually, I took a butter knife and gently pulled up one of the sides.  When I did that the other said came loose where it was stuck and felt into place.  When that happened, I quickly let go of my side and viola quick fix.  The manufacturer was no help BTW.  They offered me a refund of $25.00, which I accepted along with the missing parts and wonky directions, which were wrong in places.

Did get to spend a lovely time on the water today.  It was warm, sun shone, and the wind blew.  I did about 6 miles today and want to sail tomorrow and then again on Saturday.  Crossing my fingers that I can.

Diggity I think was not directly sprayed thanks to me and yelling at the skunk and throwing an ax at him, (the skunk).  I believe the air where the skunk ejected was close to Diggity’s face and body.  We didn’t need to use anything fancy to remove the odor from his body other than a good bath.  Bill, Digg’s didn’t learn a thing BTW.  He would do it again in a heartbeat.

My house reeks, the garage reeks, the backyard reeks, and my fingers reek.  I am slowly getting it out of my fingers with some skunk dog shampoo.

Well friends, time to head to bed before I awaken at 5 for work…ugh

                Take care all,

                Adena

PS  Thanks to all on all their help, suggestions and thoughts.

I’m late back here but it’s been a long day. Ash’s surgery went well. He has a couple of drains that stay in for a couple of weeks. He is paying a friend to drive home to Ottawa tomorrow so he doesn’t miss a week of acting pay. He doesn’t have any strenuous scenes. He is home eating and will be in bed early. He has very little pain right now – more of an awareness of the drains. I’m happy he is on the mend and can concentrate on healing and doing what he loves, acting. He will be staying with my brother so I’m sure he will be well taken care of.

I’m heading to bed as well so I’ll see you in the morning.

Glad you got it fixed Adena.

Fingers crossed everything goes OK with your son Ellen.
