Good morning all…
Never can figure out how to start these things, so here goes for Thursday. Fell asleep for a bit and then I was too hot and awoke with too much going on in my mind.
I am going to send this as a test before I write more, so please be patient you early birds.
Adena
PS…Still shows up as Wednesday, so I’ll be back after the pros come on.
September 14, 2023 at 12:18 am #1526075Good morning Adena, I hope you can get back to sleep.
Yes, the date is set by Mountain Time regardless, that’s why we use the local date in the title.
The gardener just about wrapped up the garden maintenance for the season, I have only tulips and daffodils to plant in tubs now.
Chickenfoot was fun last night, although it is difficult to get my friend’s son who has cerebral palsy from the car tnto a chair and back, it was worth the effort.
Art class this morning then fridge cleaning this afternoon.
I hope you can solve your trailer problem Steve. Poor service from the dealer. Is it a gas strut problem?

We must leave our mark on this worldSeptember 14, 2023 at 12:55 am #1526076Thanks Doug…
That didn’t happen…was ready to finally relax and got up to get a drink. I decided to let the pups out, and for some reason I found a Coleman lantern to walk down our dog ramp with. As soon as I hit the bottom and looked where I wanted to go…oh no…Diggity spotted it at the same time…a big freaking skunk. And then..all hell broke loose. I am screaming at the top of my lungs to get the dogs away from it. Mango had good sense, but my hero Diggity went after it. I am still yelling, Diggity is barking, and I find an ax and throw it blindly when Diggs had moved away from it. I don’t even think the thing budged. Finally it ran into the back part of the yard, and Diggs gave chase. May I say, we do have a fenced in yard.
Fast forward…he got skunked, I got the remnants of it when I finally got Diggs to come back to me, and when I picked him up. Showers, lights on all over, hoarse throat from screaming. I’m lucky the police didn’t show up. Clothes in the laundry, husband finally woke up…???…spraying the house…Diggy still stinks, the house smells,…..ugh!!!!!
Well that is that, and now…..
Have a question for you fix it people. I bought an exercise bike that has plastic housing, and where the seam is, one piece is not sitting flush with the other side. It seems as if in shipping it got dislodged. It appears that there is a little plastic piece that needs to go under the other side to hold it flush. Any thoughts on what I can use to fix it without damaging the hard plastic. I will send a photo and appreciate the help. I don’t do torches or other fancy tools!!
Thanks for your help all.

Doug, glad you had a nice evening with friends. Sad to see the end of gardening for the year.
Adena, young Diggs learned a lesson the hard way. I hate the smell of skunk. Sorry, I have no solution to fix your bike. I would ask the manufacturer.
Hi JJ
I have been clearing out my old trail through the woods to my back field. So many trees fell in the way and it is overgrown. I have the tools to make it easy but still went to bed with sore muscles. More of that today.

We must leave our mark on this worldSeptember 14, 2023 at 5:53 am #1526090A good Thursday to all…. cool and dry this morning, pretty much will be a repeat of yesterday weather wise.
Plans for today…..will play it by ear, other than trying to contact Jayco for some additional information. Not going to hold my breath though…..as I told Lisa, if nothing else, I can dismantle the whole camper, sell salvageable components on line and end up with a good sized utility trailer that with a few modifications I could sell for a couple thousand…..or incorporate them into a completely new designed larger “teardrop” camper then sell it…….or just say the hell with it and sell it “as is” to someone who wants a “project” trailer for a couple thousand. The reality is, despite the careful maintenance and excellent condition of the PUP, it is a 10 year old model and I’m beginning to realize that these “things” have a “designed in obsolescence shelf life” for a reason. The last thing the industry wants is “one time buyers”…..as I told Lisa last night in TBR “wind down ritual”, if we had been real smart, knowing what we know now, we’d have sold it after we moved back into the house after the initial renovation work………after living in it for 4.5 months (during the winter) Lisa soured on the “camping” idea…..myself, on the other hand, would camp all the time if it was up to me. While I thoroughly enjoyed my getaways, even in the winters, I didn’t use it enough to justify the expenses and if I did utilize it enough to justify the expense, that meant extended time away from my wife…..wasn’t going to happen. While I may love the outdoors, fly fishing and all that…..I love my wife more.
Doug…. it doesn’t appear that there are any gas pistons. I do know behind the rear bulkhead, where on the right hand end (looking at the rear of the camper inside) is the enclosed locker that the shore power cable (30 amp) is housed in. You pull the cable out from the side of the camper exterior opening. In the center section is the inverter and electrical panel, etc., etc.. The left side houses a wench motor that raises the camper roof, which in the full upright position, is then supported by telescoping square tube supports at the corners. With the wench motor I suspect there are cables and pulleys that are involved in raising the roof up, but I can’t see any cavities in the floor for cables……or underneath the floor frame. I haven’t found any complete diagrams of the lifting mechanism, just small sections and even those aren’t consistent. Some have cables, some have helix coil springs…..I just don’t know yet what I’ve got in this particular unit. I’m hoping that Jayco can provide some specific diagrams or plans that explain this system, otherwise it’ll be an investigative dismantling operation………..or the other options I described earlier.
Adena….the picture is hard to tell just where it’s not meeting up properly. You might try using a hair dryer to heat up the plastic….but I’m like Bill, I would contact the manufacture.
Time to get the day started………it seems Lisa over slept. Greetings to all here and those to come. Have a fantastic day, evening or night.
Be good, do good……
Steve.

September 14, 2023 at 6:08 am #1526091Good Morning!!!
A nice weather day, sun and a high of 19C. Nights are nice and cool now.
Scrabble day and I am hosting and I have everything ready to bake the peach cobbler. It will be the last one this year unless I use canned peaches, which I won’t.
Windows 11 keeps upgrading, the day before yesterday and again last night but apart from a slow start in the morning it is going well.
Adena, poor Diggy and poor you!!! The stink will last a long time. I don’t know, do doges learn their lesson never to go near a skunk again????? Can’t help you with the bike, looks good to me Is it working, can you use it????
JJ, was there another earth quake??? Poor people!!! Your Galahs are lovely.
Bill, that is a lot of hard work. I admire you for being able to still do it.
Lulu, is that a new movie or did you have your past lives read and are impressed with them
Ellen, lesson learned
Steve, sorry about your camper issues!!
I was thinking of Char last night when I got the glass lemon squeezer our of the cupboard. She, Gail and I were browsing in a specialty store and I was looking for a lemon squeezer. There was one right in the front of the shelf and Gail pointed to it saying “there it is”!! Char calmly answered no, she isn’t looking for a lemon squeezer to squeeze lemons but a glass one to paint. She was right and I did eventually get one and I did paint it

?????September 14, 2023 at 6:46 am #1526094Stee, it sounds as if you are not alone, I just watched a YouTube video of a guy who had trouble finding parts. He did however include s link to a Jayco Manual which might help.
PS On the side of this page there are lots of videos on Jayco repairs.
Here’s one with the Electric Lift repair. A bit of a struggle but he did it!

We must leave our mark on this worldSeptember 14, 2023 at 7:07 am #1526096HELLO EVERYONE
A very cool morning here in Ohio I think Keith said it was 50F outside.
I noticed last evening that it seems to be getting darker earlier in the evening & just saw on TV that in a month sundown would be at 7 or 7:30pm so we are going into Fall for sure.
Today at 12:30 my son Josh is taking me to get my eye injections. I’m grateful that I can get them but I also hate getting them because if they dilate my eyes plus do the shots I can’t see well for about 4 or 5 hours. Messes up the rest of your day.
Wanted to share a You Tube channel I have been enjoying for art. The artist name is GAYNOR PATTLE (I hope I got the last name spelled right). She just went on holiday to Dorset & had video of the area. Check her out.
Adena—OH NO!!!! I never had that happen to our dog or the cats when they used to be able to go outside but I’ve certainly heard the stories. Hope you can get the smell out. Poor baby!!!
Steve—Hopefully maybe an engineer with Jayco can be some help if you contact the company. I think you are right on the life of products. I’m sure that the dealerships don’t disclose that we won’t service if over 10 years old either.
Uschi—A good memory to have.
Bill—I need to be getting bulbs & seeds together to plant for the spring/summer. I can just imagine the thoughts of that Thanksgiving turkey —lol
Well time to get moving so will send good thoughts to everyone
Anita
