Good morning all, you all seem to be busy, me, not so much.
Art class this morning, I’m going to give them a gridded portrait reference to help them get the sketch down accurately.
Overcast out there and we are expecting rain showers all day.
I hope Tania can get her flight tickets changed JJ.

We must leave our mark on this worldFebruary 10, 2022 at 12:57 am #1457661Phew!! Tania on the phone she sorted it, but, it will cost an extra 100.00 each because March when it was supposed to be booked is peak time. So it is 327.00 each return to fly to Townsville which is only 1,331.7km (826.9857 miles) Now we need to book our accommodation.
Hi Doug, enjoy your art class.
It has been a lovely but hot day here. I had to go out this morning to pick up Alans script, and fruit for me. I just ate a small bag of cherries. I had to go out again this afternoon to buy the exhaust fans for the bathroom and toilet, because ours are broken. Our local lighting shop had a sale on.
Tania is still on phone lol am off.

My Youtube videosFebruary 10, 2022 at 2:16 am #1457667Good Morning, Doug and JJ. You may not feel that you’re busy, Doug, but at least you have your art class and your role as chauffeur in taking Ruth to her groups. And you have each other. I’m delighted to hear that you’re off to Warner’s for a break. Are you going to Nidd Hall?
When the pandemic started I remember thinking of the ladies I met at “The Singing Café”. This was an event held fortnightly in a local church hall where tea or coffee and cake were served and the tables had songbooks for each participant. A volunteer group of retirees, armed with a keyboard, then led a sing song. Some of the ladies I met said it made such a difference to them as they were so lonely. I often thought of them when the pandemic kicked in.
JJ, I’m so pleased that Tania got the tickets sorted. She must had had that sinking feeling in her stomach when she realised her mistake.
Char, I always thought we would be the distant grandparents, just as our own parents were. At one point all 3 of our sons lived in different towns in The Midlands. However the two younger boys moved back before they started their families, and it has been such a blessing. I never thought we would be so involved with our grandchildren, especially as parents of boys, but we have lovely DILs. I know junior DIL hoped that her parents would be able to see more of Miss A but the pandemic didn’t help. The boys’ other granny used to drive up from the south west once a month to see them, and now that they are both retired those grandparents have moved north to be near them. They downsized from the family home where they’d lived for decades and now live in a bungalow. Funnily enough they only have 1 spare bedroom so can have either the boys or their parents! They’re only 10-15 minutes away so it’s not a problem.
Anita, good idea on the paint samples. Like JJ says paint changes colour in different lights.
Lynn, not long now till the new arrival.
Uschi, I do like a light and airy room and you4 room is beautiful.
Greetings to the many I’ve missed. I must away and drink my tea.

We are going to Alvaston Hall QS, Roy Orbison tribute band. It is our friends’ wedding anniversary.
I once booked flights to the Dordogne for us and my sister Jean to visit my nephew in Sarlat. When I got the tickets I found I had booked Jean;’s ticket in her maiden name, and to be sure |I bought another ticket. However, it was Ryanair and only cost “£100 return.

We must leave our mark on this worldFebruary 10, 2022 at 2:54 am #1457672Good day all,
I’m in-between sleeps and awake for a while now.
My chairs arrived yesterday, so my job today will be to assemble them and store the old chairs until my dear wife can decide what to do with them. I’d love to give them to a thrift store.

February 10, 2022 at 5:21 am #1457694It is a daily word puzzle Gail, you have 6 tries to get the word using the alphabet, Green letters are correct and I the right pace, yellow correct but in the wrong place, black ones aren’t in the word. The other day the word was “frame” for example. You can use the same letter twice.

We must leave our mark on this worldFebruary 10, 2022 at 6:51 am #1457700MORNING EVERYONE
This week is going by fast it seems. Yesterday I worked out in our garage most of the afternoon. I reorganized some things & I also sorted out 9 of our moving boxes. I have quite a section of empty moving boxes that I have broken down & I contacted a friend whose parents are moving & asked if they needed boxes. Yes she said so I told her to come by & take all she needs. Hope she does if not I will list them for free on one of our local neighborhood sites. Someone will be able to use them.
After my shower I’m going to clear a spot & play with the sample paint colors.
This is the big Super Bowl weekend & I need to get my grocery list done so we can go shopping early Saturday morning. It will be a madhouse once again due to the Bengals being in the game.
I have not kept up with the Olympics this season. Mind is on too many other things.
Well time for the shower
Take care everyone
Anita
February 10, 2022 at 7:03 am #1457701Good Morning!!
We received a bit of snow over night and a bit more is expected but nothing to scream about and as Gail said, temperature around freezing.
Yesterday evening’s Men’s skating was frustrating, first it started way late so was forced to watch the snow boarders do their thing over and over again and when it finally came on endless commercials and interviews about a hockey player? Why do they have to interrupt the skating to do this?????? Last time I will ever watch something like that “live”, at 11:00 I taped the rest and watched the news and went to bed. I’ll see the rest sometime today and will click through all the unnecessary stuff.
Scrabble at my place today, I made a very quick Peach cobbler but because I had no peaches it became an Apple Cobbler, they really are easy to make and I am not into complicated baking.
Doug, I have never done anything with a grid but I saw people do beautiful and very accurate portraits on Facebook, will be interesting to see how your group does. Also, I know how much you enjoy your weekend trips so am glad you are taking another one soon.
JJ, glad Tania got the tickets sorted out, and yes tickets get more and more expensive during prime time. Thanks for the summer and birdie photo.
Thanks QS, my wall colour choice was simple – white, no tints into the white, just white LOL but my walls are covered with my paintings so the white is not stark.
Hi Bill! Sleep well!!
Anita, I just saw you, have a good day!!

February 10, 2022 at 7:13 am #1457702Good Morning all,
It is a bit after 9:00 a.m. and a bright, sunshiny day here in Oakwood. Not so good weather arriving soon, so I’ll head up to the Library this morning and pick up the books they’ve pulled for us.
I’ll run by Meijer’s too and get another bag of Cara Cara oranges. They are really sweet right now. I make a fresh fruit mixture to use with yogurt and/or cottage cheese for lunch and another small version for us to have in the evening while watching TV. We go through a lot of fresh fruit each week.
Uschi, I agree about how frustrating trying to watch the skating live is, that’s why we tape the program so we can zoom past the ones we aren’t interested in. We’ll watch the men’s skating program this afternoon.
Anita, your paint plan is a really good one, and you are so wise to keep tackling those moving boxes little by little each day.
to all,
SYL,
Sylvia
February 10, 2022 at 7:19 am #1457703everyone,
I drove the boys to school but I’ll be picking them up again after school to drive them home. The buses are cancelled because of snow. My DIL usually picks them up after but Maverick was upset that I wasn’t. I guess they missed me the last couple of weeks in isolation.
I just downloaded a free app called Minimalist. It looks good. It’s simple to use and I’ll just write out my to do list there instead of pieces of paper beside my chair. Nothing fancy. Write them down and cross off or delete when done.
I’ll be shovelling shortly. Just a few more things to do online like book Brian’s hotel room for next week.
The government finally sent out supplies of rapid tests and Brian picked up a box at the drugstore on the way home. Now we have our own supply.
Stuff to do so I’ll wish you all the best day possible.
