Good morning all, a cooler day with threatened thunder showers today.
Relaxing, feeding the washer and watching golf on the cards.

Whats the bet that Wagner chief has an assisted defenestration in Belorus or puts on dirty underwear? He is no alternative to the Puta anyways. … he was the one early on who said Poland is next.

My ministering Sisters came to visit me late this afternoon, they have just left. It is always lovely to see them. It got dark at 5.30pm tonight, and it is getting a little crisp.
Church was great today. Sadly my singing voice is still a little croaky from the infection, but oh well. Choir hasn’t started up yet. Every second Sunday, we have a Relief Society Lesson. Relief Society is for all the women. Our teacher is one of us. We had an interesting lesson about things Jesus said, and the Basic Doctrines. Reading matter for me for the rest of the week.
Much love to everyone. Stay as well as you can, and stay safe. I haven’t heard from Char in a few days, always very worrying.

Doug, I keep meaning to say, Windows 11 did eventually download here, no issues.
I would say that the Wagner chief won’t have enough eyes to be able to watch his back now.
Interesting afternoon. Went to the unveiling ceremony of the ‘headstone’ for our good friend who died neatly 3 months ago. He opted for a ‘natural’ burial, which meant no embalming, no lined coffin and no super deep grave. Today a tree, donated by the council, was planted on top by the family. A very fitting burial place for him. Not all councils allow this but ours does.
Uschi, one last word, if my brain is as good as yours when I get to your age, I’ll be happy. I don’t want your ciggies though

Be kinder than necessary
June 25, 2023 at 4:09 am #1517660everyone,
A bad start to the morning. Max called to me from the bathroom being sick. His insulin pump ran out during the night, he didn’t hear the alarm and his sugars were very high (25.9) making him nauseous. He filled the pump, gave himself a bolus, and got a reminder lecture from me about being more responsible for his health. He has to live with this his whole life and knows better than going to bed with a low supply of insulin in the pump. At least it wasn’t high for too long. I had him check his sugars at 3;00 and the were 7.4. We are waiting for them to get back down right now. The second bad thing is that the city is blanketed in heavy smoke from one of the fires around us and the house smells heavily of smoke inside even though the windows are all closed. No going out or even hanging laundry. I was looking forward to having the windows open because it should be a little cooler today (25) compared to the rest of the week.
Today will be busy. I have the boys until after supper, I have to pack for our overnight trip to Sudbury tomorrow for our eye appointments, this is the first day of open studio at the art club (every Sunday afternoon all summer) but unless the smoke clears I won’t be going with the boys, and it’s the day I usually fertilize everything but with my bad knee I’ll have to see if I’m able to do that. I might order out for supper.

My Youtube videosJune 25, 2023 at 5:46 am #1517669Good afternoon, All. Ellen, you being a nurse is a huge help to that little family, not to mention all the other things you do. They can leave the boys with you without worrying.
The smoke situation that some of you have suffered from would drive me round the bend.
Our visitors have just left. We had to rather usher them out of the house as they had a train to catch. ES and the youngsters went out last night and got home late, but after a fun filled day at our son’s house, my beloved and I chose to stay home.
Miss A had made beautifully written place names for us all, and most of them were spelt correctly! The children had their own table but ate the same food as the adults.
JJ, will like this. We had sausages and burgers, salmon fillets, pulled pork, lamb kebabs, grilled prawns, chicken kebabs and chicken wings, steak, mushrooms in bbq sauce, potato wedges, grilled courgettes, sautéed peppers, corn on the cob, and grilled halloumi, grilled asparagus, and couscous in a bowl. YS had laid on ciabatta rolls and bread rolls and MS brought his amazing focaccia, and we had as much Prosecco, Pepsi Max, fruit squash and chilled water as we could drink.
The children were able to play on the trampoline and MS had brought a cricket set. ES had brought gifts for all the children and GS2’s was a set of stick on moustaches which he kindly shared with the younger ones. They all looked sooo funny, and provided great entertainment. Later on DIL uncovered their huge paddling pool and all 4 children went in. The weather was gloriously sunny throughout, so they spent a while in there then dried off naturally in their swimwear.
After a while the menfolk including the boys went into the cinema room, which is at the end of the garden, and watched a movie, which gave us girls time to chat. The young girlfriend who was visiting us kept Miss A amused and at one point we though we might have trouble bringing her home with us. Miss A would happily have kept her, I’m sure.
We talked about leaving around 5pm but YS and DIL were enjoying the company so Dr DIL got up and made us a cup of tea and we carried on. Then it was kiddie tea time so Miss A and the boys were fed, and then the boys said goodbyes to everyone, which took a while, especially as favourite uncle was there. Once they were out of the way, we we said our goodbyes and left too.
YS had put in a tremendous amount of effort, and amazingly, he’s said that since ES’s partner wasn’t there he’ll have to do it all again in August.
It was a fabulous weekend, and now us old folks are enjoying just chillin’.

June 25, 2023 at 6:04 am #1517671Good Morning!!
Going to be a hot day, with the humidity it will feel like 33C. Will be a day with all the shades pulled down.
Except for my little bedroom AC I have not yet had need to put the AC on but today might be the day.
No big plans, Evening Primrose, Shasta Daisies and Mallow have started blooming in the garden, they don’t care about the weeds
Doug, glad you had a nice time at the retirement home BBQ.
Annie, you are right, the guy was not a good alternative.
JJ, your church provides you with nice friends and companionship!!
Lulu, we’ll never have last words Mine for the time being is that you are absolutely right about the loss of muscle, hence the lack of strength and the flapping upper arms where there are supposed to be bulging biceps and triceps
Hi Bill!!
Ellen, poor Max and poor you because that is frightening. Every little mishap will remind him more and more what to do and what not to do until he will be a perfect grown up. Too bad about the smoke and the still burning fires.
Nancy, your mini creations are unbelievably mini!!!
QS, oh my, what a meal and what fabulous time you had with your family and friends. Your YS must be a born host and entertainer, rolling eyes here wondering how anyone could enjoy doing all this cooking
