Blue sky now….just spoken to Claire on Facetime…had good but chilly trip to Japan, their weather seems much as UK with blossoms way behind so Cherry & Plum trees not as good as last year…my garden where daffodils were out partially, when we called home last week, they are almost finished and the tulips are full out.
Off to trim pampas grass as lawn too wet for mowing.

April 22, 2018 at 9:07 am #608909Good Morning all,
It is just past 9:00 a.m. here in overcast but dry and cool Oakwood. Going up to 60°F/16°C this afternoon.Saw a glorious brilliant orange sunrise this morning to start my day off with a bang.
We are off to the TriArt Spring Show this afternoon. Will take my camera so I can share some of the wonderful art with you again.
We are having chicken pot pie for dinner this evening with the left over chicken from making soup earlier this week. I have the pastry mixed and resting in the fridge, the meat is cubed, will prep the veggies later as well so when I go to put it together and bake it in the oven, it will be easy peasy.
Annie, Yikes on the messy mowing job you had. Speed kills, especially on dangerous mountain roads. Culling of the herd, I guess.
Geoff, Welcome home. We cut our pampas grass a week or so ago. The yard looks different now.
Uschi, It is so nice that you are so friendly with your DIL’s mother! Brava to you both!
to all who were here before me and to all still on their way.

Sylvia
April 22, 2018 at 9:24 am #608912Good Morning! It’s a glorious sunny start to our Spring day! Ted will be out burning piles of sticks and branches that littered our lawn for most of the winter. Raking them up is a big chore as they get caught in the tines of the rake.
He’s also placed and installed some of the old cupboards downstairs in the former laundry room. It’s going to look good and will be a great place to store bulk items such as paper toweling from Costco.
He’ll be pulling out the laundry tub and installing the old double sink. He’s decided that it will all need to be repainted, and I agree. It’s essentially going to be his room, so all the choices will be his.
My only commitment for the day will be to get the laundry done. I’m going to head downstairs to work in the Studio for awhile. I have odds and ends that need to be finished on a couple of lesson plan studies.
Have yourselves a happy and creative day, everyone!

April 22, 2018 at 10:21 am #608930A good Sunday to all…..started raining about 03:00 this morning and still raining….it’s one of those all day good soaking rains.
No plans for today….studio, shop…who knows. I have an old rocker/glider chair waiting to be restored. It’s Lisa’s great grandmother’s rocker…it’s about 175 years old, with hand forged iron mechanics that give it the rocking gliding capabilities…..needs refinishing, new seat cushion and I have to repair a front leg that has broken off….pegs and a good wood clue, clamps and it’ll be good as new. Do need to give it some attention and get it out of my shop…taking up space, which is a priceless commodity in my one car garage workshop. Just might be the thing to do today…..dry, outside (sort of), put on some good tunes, fire up the coffee pot and I’m good to go.
First things first….feed the cats, feed the dogs, walk the dogs in the rain, fix me some breakfast…..I guess I should get up and get moving, but I’m thinking one more cup of coffee…..it’s Sunday.
Be good, do good……relax. BBL
Steve.

April 22, 2018 at 11:26 am #608923Beautiful spring day here, will enjoy my duty at the Village today. For once I am ready and not tearing out the door, leaving things behind
However, saying that, I looked at the clock and realize I must eat now as being picked up in 18 minutes
Will check in later, but wanted to say, what a great group you have joined, Bill! Looks like they have lots of support. Will be interested, once you get more involved in hearing how they operate. We are always looking for more ways to expand our influence in the community.
Have a great day everyone!

Supposed to get up to 65F! Yippee! Don’t know what to do today. Legs not happy. All that walking and stair climbing for Friday’s audition. Yesterday wanted to walk to the post office to mail thank you to auditor. Only managed to walk to the end of the block and stick it in the mailbox. Then home again. Did manage to do some cooking later.
((((Marielena)))) I feel for you. I lost my little diabetic cat in February, and think of her every day.
Bill your work is lovely. Lots of lovely art there. Have you tried gray mattes? I am wondering if black might overwhelm your beautiful delicate work.
Annie life on your mountain is always an adventure.
Steve can we see that rocker? 175 years old! Wow.
Linda love the sign. Sounds like a movie script in that.
Doug your pie looked scrumptious.
Well I must think what to do with my day.

April 22, 2018 at 2:14 pm #608929April 22, 2018 at 4:32 pm #608911Good Afternoon!
Well, I am spent, will sit and read now.
In the morning I did the laundry, the finances for the club and knitting while waiting for the ice to melt:D
I have been gardening since 2:00 p.m. and it is 4:30 now. Mostly snapping off the perennial stems from last fall. I had to get into all sorts of contortions trying not to step on any daffodils or tulips that were coming up. Nowhere near done yet but the weather will be nice tomorrow too so more then.
The sump pump is still spewing out water. Half the lawn was dug up probably by racoons digging for the bugs that were eating up my lawn in fall.
The weather is GORGEOUS!!!!!! I was working in my Tshirt. 15C:thumbsup:
Sylvia, yes it is nice that DIL’s mom and I get along so well. We became friends when the kids were dating over 25 years ago. She was widowed and I was single and we used to travel together until one year when I couldn’t go and she went alone and came back with a prospective husband whom she did marry:D
Kay, sorry your leg hurt so much, it’s funny because yesterday mine hurt more than normal too and yet it was a lovely day.
Char, Ted really is working very hard on this construction. Moving right along:thumbsup:
Linda, lovely fishies and a funny sign.
to ALL!!!

April 22, 2018 at 9:41 pm #608913We hadvthe most beautiful weekend weather-wise.Warm and sunny. Justin painted the inside of his trailer. It took him all day.
Larry and I cleaned and purged all weekend. I’ve had to be right behind him making him throw things out and put in piles for goodwill. And we have a pile of Jennie stuff in tubs. Mostly kids clothes. We will take them to her when we go in May. We are making a dent so that is good.
We had a nice spaghetti dinner tonight. We are now relaxing and all threw of us are sitting here on our phones as the hockey game plays on TV.
Kelsea spent the weekend here. Her roommate is out of town and she doesn’t like to stay there alone. She worked both jobs yesterday and the pizza place today. She has to close.
Kaitlyn has to step in and take Klaira to the Daddy-Daughter dance because Matt had to work. Klaira was disappointed but loves Kaitlyn so she was happy to go with her. Larry always took Kaitlyn and Kelsea before Matt was once again in the picture.
It sounds like you all had great days.
Bill great pics if the are show!
June I hope you scrubbed your bite from your fur baby well.
Ellen hope the bears stay away especially if they are hungry.
Have a great night and an equally great start to your week.
