Good Morning… it’s -2C and really cloudy, but we’re warming to 10C, so that’s going to make a nice day. Hopefully, the sun can break through the clouds.
First Lady Barbara Bush will be laid to rest today. Bless her legacy.
Queen Elizabeth celebrates her 92nd Birthday today! Indeed, bless her legacy.
Kim Jong Un claims he’ll stop all the nuclear testing. No blessings here (from me), but breathing a sigh of relief.
There are still a few small things to be done in the Sunroom and it’ll be clean and back to normal. While I worked inside, Ted opened up one of the raised beds and planted our peas. And, we’re free of garbage stuff and thrift store stuff. Ultimately, should we put the house up for sale, we’ll have done most of the purging, so this reno is a blessing in that regard.
I didn’t paint. But I did tidy the Studio as much as I could. The ceiling tiles are still down and will stay that way until the wiring is completed. That won’t happen until the cupboards are installed. Oh happy day!
We may make a quick trip to London. Lee Valley Tools has the hardware for our cupboards that we’re interested in. We know exactly what we want, know that it exists, but are having difficulty in finding it. Since the hoosier is the inspiration for our design, we are mimicking its pulls.
Steve, I hope you’re feeling much better today.
Hi Doug! Your garden really looks nice in its Spring finery. Thanks for that link. She has a lot of videos to watch!
Rod, that’s a great setup. You need to create a “Signature” so everyone can remember your name!
Hi Mike!!
Sylvia, I have our hummingbird feeders cleaned but it seems early to be putting them out. You are really fortunate to belong to an Art Group that’s so very active.
JJ
((Linda)) I’m sorry you’re feeling so crappy. Even if the tumour count didn’t make a dramatic reduction, it didn’t increase. What a shame about your pond.
Congratulations on your new celebrity status, Bill! I hope you’ll share that photo with us.
Oh, eeuww, Annie. I’m not good with stuff like that and I wouldn’t have handled it well at all.
Ellen, I look forward to watching your progress on your new paintings. you snow is done and you can store the snowblower away.
(((Marialena))) I’m so very sorry for your loss of Rigel. Your Dad and Rigel do look very happy together and now they can play for eternity.
Uschi, I want to read Dan Brown’s “Origin” but haven’t borrowed it yet. I’ve been reading light stuff because I can’t seem to commit to a deep novel.
Well, the kitties are fed. The coffee is brewed. My hubby is sleeping in today and he deserves the extra bed time.
I hope that all who’re under the weather feel much better today. Geoff, I hope your cramps didn’t keep you up all night. Have a great day, everyone!! :grouphug:
We x-posted Lynn!

April 21, 2018 at 9:30 am #608407Thanks Uschi…at least one person remembers me! We left Stratford upon Avon just before 9.00 and as there wasn’t any room for parking caravans in our favoured service station I kept right on and less than 4 hours we were home.
Just had a ‘sub’ roll of ham as brunch and have emptied the car, washing over in the studio ready to go on….and me? Am off for the newspapers as we missed yesterday due to ‘posh lunch’….Very warm but reasonable around 20C (70F)…..my daffodils have nearly all turned without me getting to see them..may photograph later.

April 21, 2018 at 10:48 am #608400Hello all,
It’s sunny and going to be a lovely day I don’t know what is planned for today, maybe we’ll just take it as we go.
Kelsea came and stayed the night and has gone into work at the pizza shop. She works there from 10-2 and then at the restaurant/pub from 4-10. She’s trying so hard to be an adult and succeeding much to our surprise. Her roommate is out of town for 4 days so I think she’ll be hanging around here with us.
Justin has to go into work from 3-11pm. It’s Larry’s weekend off. I don’t know what he has planned for today. I’ll try to get him to clean the back room in the basement but I’m sure it won’t work. He will most likely want to do something else.
I’m going to paint some today, I hate being downstairs when it’s so nice outside but I’ve been wanting to do some art lately so… I could do some sketching outside too I suppose.
I have laundry to do today too and some to fold and put away. The bedding needs changed and I want to clean my bathrooms so that will be first off the list.
I have to return a call that a friend made to me last night. I’m sure she’s wanting to know how my test came out.
((((MArialena)))) I’m so sorry about your Rigel passing so unexpectedly. That is a nice age to have had him with you. Your Father must be so happy getting to play with him again.
(((( Linda)))) I hope your pain goes away and your numbers improve. It must be so hard staying positive. :grouphug:
Bill, your work is amazing and I love it. What a pleasure it must have been to talk to the WWII vet.
Sylvia, we don’t expect the hummers yet for a week or two but that reminds me we need to get the feeders ready. Soon we’ll have to put out oranges and grape jelly for the Baltimore Orioles.
Annie, oh my….YUCK is right!!!
Char, poor Ted must be exhausted working so hard on the reno project.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

April 21, 2018 at 11:54 am #608411Good morning – sunny, but we still get frost. Cut my small patch of grass for the first time this year, and mower battery still worked.
((((Linda)))) – you can complain to us all you want or need to. I heard a very interesting thing on CBC radio this morning. A young woman successfully defended her Master’s Thesis at Northern University of BC with poetry she wrote and performed about her battle with a very aggressive form of breast cancer, including how her own doctor ignored all her symptoms. The snippet I heard was very moving, and courageous.
((((Marialena))))
Bill – thanks for posting the photos of your pictures in the show – they look wonderful.
Char – I am enjoying from afar your renovations and look forward to the completion. I do love the “tin” ceiling tiles!
I’m still watching Landscape Artist of the Year and Portrait Artist of the Year. Fast forward and mute (for the inane comments by the “judges”) are wonderful.
My DD got me some melatonin pills – I actually had some good nights sleep – still woke up a couple of times, but was able to get right back to sleep.
Annie, your description was not great while I was eating my breakfast! Some kind dog owner didn’t pick up after their dog – fortunately I saw it before I ran the mower over it.
Hi to everyone I missed. Betty
April 21, 2018 at 11:58 am #608417A good Saturday to all….warm today, high 70’s low 80’s possible…rain tomorrow.
Feeling better today…at least no retching, weak and sore. Not much planned for the day other than some light household duties, punctuated with periods of checking the backsides of my eyelids…..such is the monthly reaction from each shot. One month, I may not have much reaction other than some mild gastronomical cramps….some months it’s like a full blown case of intestinal and gastric nuclear war that leaves me fatigued and high levels of pain….there’s no consistent pattern other than each month is a roll of the dice.
Bill…I really like your sketches. Congratulations and good job sir…good job.
Hey…to everybody else….think I’ll go check the backside of my eyelids…Be good, do good….Peace. BBL …maybe.
Steve.

April 21, 2018 at 12:14 pm #608415Good morning. Rain is moving in very slowly into our area—heaviest storms are to the west of us. It is gray and overcast here.
Only thing planned today is for me to go buy a sewing machine for our granddaughter as her birthday/graduation present from the Academy. I have looked around, and Walmart has the best machines at the lowest prices. Now I just have to decide which brand to buy.

April 21, 2018 at 3:49 pm #608396Bill,
Lovely works in the Show, Bill, and yours shine amongst them very nicely. I think you are going to enjoy being part of this group.Marielana, So sorry for the loss of your furry friend.
There have only been a few hummers sighted in this area so far. My neighbor Pat has her feeder out too and they used to flock to it last year. I’m hoping some spot mine on the way to hers and begin feeding in it this year.
Steve, I’m glad you are feeling a bet better, it is a shame the shot you require leaves you feeling so poorly at times. :o
{{{{Linda}}}}
We are having a Turkish dinner tonight: lamb kofte, rice pilaf, and ratatouille (the French side snuck in). The kofte are made and in the fridge, will put them in the grill pan when it is time to get things ready.
Time to go ride my stationery bike now so I can enjoy that dinner.

April 21, 2018 at 4:16 pm #608403It’s spring! I’ve been outside puttering in the yard with Brian. There were a few spikes of the cedar hedge too high to get to last year so he put a ladder on top of the snow which gave him an extra two feet and cut them off. I was able to get the sides of the yard by the street raked and the sand swept into the street from the snowplow pushing it into the yard all winter. I was outside for two hours in a tshirt! It’s 10 degrees and sunny. Just wonderful!
I saw the first red-winged blackbird. I don’t know what they are going to eat until the snow melts. We can’t put out feeders because of the bears. They are awake and roaming the edges of town because there isn’t anything for them to eat either. We saw small bear tracks in the yard yesterday.
I got Brian’s hair cut (outside ) and now I have to have a shower and go for groceries. Tomorrow I might even put some wash on the line as long as they don’t touch the snow. Enjoy the beautiful weather everyone.

April 21, 2018 at 5:02 pm #608398HELLO EVERYONE:cat:
It has been a busy day. We attended a funeral for our friends father. He was am MD & 91 years old. Lots of great stories told. Then off to the grocery & home. I have felt since yesterday that I was coming down with a cold or something. It hit me hard sitting in the church. I felt miserable but now not as bad. I just wish it would decide what it is going to do.
Marilena—So sorry for the loss of your dog. I’m sure the two are together now.
linda—-Hang in there. Sorry you are having such a rough time of it.
Steve—-Sounds awful. HOpe you feel better soon.
Bill—-Oh good for you. Your drawings are wonderful. I think you are going to love this group.
Well I’m done. Brain is mush today.
Everyone have a good day
Anita
April 21, 2018 at 6:28 pm #608414Bill I see whaat you meant by Black I didn’t realize it was the white next to the colour , good for you . I hope you enjoy being with that group I take it that it is a co-op program ? I was in a group like that for about four years eventually I left and joined the seniors centre where we can only accommodate 16 people at any one time , We have a turnover of people to allow others the chance to paint one of these days I will step down.

April 22, 2018 at 12:00 am #608420MarialenaS, I’m so very sorry about the loss of your pet, but as you say, I think he’s with your father at long last.
Spring is definitely here in Tacoma, Washington. The sun was out all day, it was relatively warm, and the trees are leafing out. It’s been a beautiful day.
I had intended to paint according to the directions I got from Marialena yesterday but instead I was just lazy. I live with my daughter and her domestic partner, who are both very sick with flu right now. I had my shot but I’ve heard the shot is only about 65% effective this time so I hope I don’t get it. I’ve cut down my dosage of prednisone as a precaution. They’ve been staying in their room and all of us are diligently using hand sanitizer and disinfectant.
Yesterday my youngest son and his new wife got back from Las Vegas, bringing with them the news that they’d gotten married. I wasn’t surprised. lol But my son became a widower in 2015 because his wife had melanoma that finally took her. I wish him and his new wife every happiness for their life together. My son has been through hell and now I’m watching him and his new wife enjoying a little bit of heaven at last. I’m very happy for them.
