Doug, I could report you, you know??????
Doug and QS, I guess it all depends on the intonation of how it is said i.e. Oh, you are a Canuck vs oh, you are a Canuck a delightful realization
So many things we say depend on that too which, I guess, is why we have to be double careful when we are writing things and there is no intonation – which reminds me of a university course I attended where the whole theme was kind of based on how things are said and perceived and who said it and what is meant by it etc.
We had to do a book report and try as I may I just couldn’t get into it and suddenly a whole essay fell right into my head, it was just there. So I asked the prof if I could do an essay vs. the book report and the answer was yes.
On the very first page and large black marker I wrote “Fu… You!!! and I hid my name and ID in the middle of the essay so he had no idea who wrote this. I was feeding back to him what he was basically teaching. I figured I was either going to get an A or fail and if I got a fail I would argue him into the ground
I got an A+ , he thought it was brilliant and asked me if he could keep my essay to use it for future teaching purposes
I made my soup, still need to puree it when it is cold, did my “dust if you must” thing and had my lunch so I think I’ll knit a while before I can think of something else important to do.
