We must leave our mark on this worldOctober 9, 2023 at 4:17 am #1528537Good morning, Doug and JJ, and Happy Thanksgiving, Canadians. Can’t you tell me if it’s polite to use the term Canucks, or insulting?

?????Lovely little maple tree, Doug.
JJ, that’s how I tackle housework – one shelf at a time.
Bill and Uschi, I should have explained that the idea behind Saturday’s workshop was to generate ideas to come up with an original painting, rather than just copying a photograph as it is. Everything Bob was doing was just play and practice to come up with something original.
I also remember Nancy saying that she wouldn’t be posting for a bit. Hi Nancy, hope you’re enjoying reading the Wash.
Anita, thanks for the recommendation.
Lynn, sounds like a lovely celebration, and not too exhausting for your ex, who seems to have improved, health wise.
My beloved is feeling much better, meanwhile I have developed a rash around the injection site. It’s nothing to worry about but I have to avoid scratching it.
We had the alarm system chap here bright and early for it’s annual service, and then I got distracted.
Major tidying required today for the family part we are hosting this coming weekend, so I must get on.
Gentle hugs to all in pain.

October 9, 2023 at 4:18 am #1528538everyone,
Too dark to see much outside but there is a light dusting of snow on the cars. It will be warmer today (6) but more rain all day. The stores are closed for the holiday so we will get all the baking supplies up from the pantry, washed, and ready to start baking after a grocery run tomorrow morning. Regular house chores today as well. I might do dusting of one room. I also have a canvas that I have to wrap in watercolour paper. I might give my sister the job of using a hot glue gun to put the boys names on their stockings. The day will be full.
Breakfast next while waiting for the sun so I can see to start some chores. I don’t have energy when it’s dark out. I also don’t want to make a lot of noise while my sister is sleeping. She is usually up by now but I’m in no rush to work so I’ll use her as my excuse to procrastinate.
I hope you can all have the best day possible.
October 9, 2023 at 5:14 am #1528540A good Monday to all…….slightly warmer this morning, with a high of near 80 later.
Today, I’ll get my plywood base for the counter top and some heavy cardboard from Michael’s to make my template. May even swing by the Woodmaster’s tool store to see if they have the 2″ flattening CNC router bit, I’m sure they do, it’s just a matter of how much they want for it. I can order it from Amazon for about $29.
Have my quarterly Endo consult tomorrow to go over my lab results. Got email from LabCor with my IGF-1 numbers…..still hanging in there at 119 (lower half of my acceptable window)……it’s sooooo nice not having to harpoon my thigh every month. One more lab result come Dec. and if that one’s good, they’ll consider that I’ve reached “chemical remission”……..then I’ll just need blood work every 6 months to keep watch over it. Will talk to her about the kidney pain as well….this is really starting to get very annoying.
Kitties are demanding food…….pesky little ingrates. Greetings to all here and those to come. Have a wonderful day, evening or night.
Be good, do good…
Steve.

October 9, 2023 at 5:48 am #1528542Hi folk, lunch break them off to U3a.
I’m waiting to be summoned by Specsavers for my annual examination Bill and I hope they can correct my left eye. They will possibly book me in for a cataract op, they mentioned it last year.
Glad you appear to be in remission Steve, I hope the second results are favourable and they can pinpoint our kidney pain.

October 9, 2023 at 6:21 am #1528549Good Morning!!!
No sun and no rain, just dull and a high of 9C.
Yesterday’s trip to Mississauga went well, the traffic ( one hour’s drive) wasn’t bad. The company was delightful the food incredible as usual. I was very careful what I ate and also had a teaspoon of everything I love but doesn’t agree with me. A lovely afternoon and evening!!
Lynn, I am glad that you too had a nice celebration visiting with your EX and little ones.
Thanksgiving is actually today so once again HAPPY THANKSGIVING to our Canadian friends and I love Canada and its assortment of people and cultures so am indeed thankful for a lot of things.
Doug, a nice day for you and I love your little Maple, such a great idea!! You could get a variety of them and thereby create a typical Canadian Fall
JJ, those spontaneous cleaning bursts are fun and no hardship.
QS, thanks for explaining the reason for the workshop and that makes perfect sense and a lot more creativity than copying a photo, so he is right!!!
I didn’t realize that people are now taking three shots, the Covid, the flu and the respiratory one. Glad your hubby is feeling better and sorry about your rash.
re Canucks – I think it is usually used in a playful, positive manner which in my mind would be fine but I really had no idea so Wikipedia to the rescue and this is what it had to say
“Canuck /kəˈnʌk/ is a slang term for a Canadian. The origins of the word are uncertain. The term Kanuck is first recorded in 1835 as an Americanism, originally referring to Dutch Canadians (which included German Canadians) or French Canadians. By the 1850s, the spelling with a “C” became predominant. Today, many Canadians and others use Canuck as a mostly affectionate term ”
Nancy mentioned that some time ago, so I guess this is the time Hi Nancy!!!
and Hi Kay and Lulu!
Ellen, thinking of wrapping a canvas with watercolour paper, is the painting in the park still hanging and how is it looking now???
Steve, keeping fingers tightly crossed for you for tomorrow’s doctor’s visit and I hope there is a good answer for your kidney pain.
Hi Bill!!

October 9, 2023 at 6:26 am #1528550QS, WOW, they are truly quite fabulous!! I love them!!!!! They are paintings!! What a great creative idea. Question, do you have to reglue the tape or does the glue hold for the second time.
I am sooo glad you showed us, thank you!!
Uschi

?????October 9, 2023 at 6:39 am #1528551HELLO EVERYONE
Sun is out bright this morning at 8:15am. I think it is in upper 40’s.
I’ll be busy doing house things this week & deciding what to pack for our trip to VA. Yesterday I talked to my childhood friend John & he had contacted another of our group & we are going to meet on Saturday. I’m so excited I could bust!!!!
These were the friends & town I grew up in until I was 15 yo & it broke my heart & spirit when I had to leave due to my Grandmother passing away.
Been reading & watching a lot on the attack on Israel. It’s the human stories that matter most.
Well got a phone call so will check in later.
Anita
