Good day all! bright sun and warmer here too, I may get out if I get myself going, already 10:30! I have a great need for gelatin that I get at the Bulk Barn, helps with hair and nails and skin. We have a light coating of snow, but there will be more by the end of the week.
Am working on a quilt I started many years ago, have slowly chipped away at the batting for other things, may just have enough to finish it. I have a duvet and a thick quilt, but they are both too hot, just need a light extra covering so this may do it. It can be a lap robe too, although a bit big for that. The baby’s hat is coming along, once I figured out the right circular needles.
That is a dark green. Now I just have to find the backing, have given away so much fabric in the last months.
Also getting stuff ready for the Art Auction at the Art School, lots I can give them, but some finishing and framing needed…..having difficulty with my priorities, as you can tell!!
(((((((Anita)))))) That is a hard load all at once
Good that they are doing OK, Ellen.
Good luck with your busy day, Sylvia.
That will be a fun visit, Nancy!
Oh, Carol, so sorry to see that. My best wishes for her and you, getting through this
That’s where your nice white hair comes from, Doug, red often goes that colour. My mum had curly red hair, I always wanted it
Hi Steve, JJ, Uschi, Bill and all to come!
Cheers, Lynn

"Ring the bells that still can ring, Forget your perfect offering, There is a crack in everything, That's how the light gets in" Leonard CohenJanuary 31, 2022 at 9:01 am #1456018A quick update. My son was feeling off with a mild sore throat, achy, brain fog, and lethargy. You guessed it. He just tested positive. We knew it would go through his family but that was fast.
I spent the morning going through my dresser sorting and downsizing. My sister will have a lot of things to take home if she wants them. If not they will be donated.
Anita – what a week of bad news. I’m so sorry.
Carol – smart to travel before the storm. I’m so sorry to hear about your sister.
I’ll check in later if there’s any more news.

January 31, 2022 at 9:04 am #1456020Hi everyone.
Carol – rotten news about your sister; I’m so sorry and hope and pray the situation is not as bad as you fear.
Anita – what a bad week for you. One thing after another. I sure hope the coming week is better for you too.
Uschi – good to hear of your ‘heatwave’ !
Steve – your description of the hairbrained driver drifting the bends was great. Amazing he didn’t kill himself or anybody else.
My wife’s nephew is in hospital in Australia having suffered a slight stroke plus failure of his laryingnx and cannot swallow. He is very distressed and has been told he probably will be unable to talk again. Only 56 years old . Life can be very tough.
Ellen – hope the Covid infection doesn’t cause major concerns and that everyone is well again soon.
Must go and puts Daughter’s dogs inside before it gets too chilly.
Bye for nowMike
January 31, 2022 at 9:09 am #1456021Good Morning! It’s going to stay cold today, warming up above freezing tomorrow and then rain/snow for two days. Lovely.
Katherine, my Sister, called right at Zoom time last evening. I haven’t talked with her (in person) since Christmas, so didn’t have the heart to cut our call short. We text every day, but it’s not the same.
It’s a busy day here in Pinehurst… with my PSW to arrive (she’s late), Ted’s bloods, the handi-van will be going to the dealership for repair and my respirology tech will be here this afternoon. I want to get a few things ready for tomorrow’s visit by my Class.
Lynn, thank goodness your Son was not injured, but it’s sure a frightening thing that could stay with him awhile.
((Anita)) My condolences on your losses. What a terrible week!
Ellen, that’s a scare and I’m glad that the boys seem to be doing ok today!
((Carol)) My thoughts are with you and prayers for your Sister.
Love and hugs to everyone… Sabrina (PSW) has arrived.

January 31, 2022 at 9:46 am #1456034OK BACK AGAIN
Breakfast over & fresh shower does wonders. LOL
I have library books to take back today & I’m tempted to go by Sam’s club & purchase a heavy pot I saw I think they are called a Dutch oven. I have never had one. This one I could afford. Might be nice to have something in the oven for our bad weather on Wednesday/Thursday.
Thanks everyone sometimes things just hit us hard.
Ellen—YIKES sure hope your son does OK. I sure will be glad when we can out from underneath this stuff. Your sister’s visit will be nice.
Carol—Sending good thoughts for your sister
Steve—-hope Lisa is not coming down with the bug too. Sounds like you have the right approach to getting your reno done correctly.
Our weather predictions for Wed/Thur are making me a bit nervous. We have to go for Keith’s follow up on his eye on Thursday afternoon. It’s not too far from us but he will drive to the appointment but I will be driving us back. Snow I’m OK with it’s the ice.
Anywho everyone have a good day
Anita
January 31, 2022 at 10:47 am #1456040Anita~ I’m so sorry for your bad week. Life’s crises seem to come in waves, don’t they?
Lynn~ lovely quilt, but a lot of work wrestling that batting and backing.
Ellen~ I’m so sorry omicron is running through your family. My DIL and granddaughter had it, but our MS and grandsons escaped it—this time. It took a week to get energy back and test negative.
Char~ isn’t it amazing how busy your days are? I hope you can relax somewhat and have a free day every once in a while.
Congrats to the Bengals, Sylvia!
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for my beautiful sister. She was moved into ICU during the night with compromised breathing and had surgery this morning for a trach and feeding tube. We are crushed, but trust in the Lord for comfort and hope.
We’re packing up and will leave in about an hour. Rough estimate! As you all know the last 10 minutes before you leave usually turns into an hour. :-/

C&C appreciatedJanuary 31, 2022 at 11:02 am #1456042Hi All. Lovely to speak on zoom again last night even though there was only a few of us. Thanks for organizing it again, Ellen. I was so sorry to hear that your family have contracted Covid. Fingers crossed it will only be a mild dose.
((((Anita))))) you surely had a bad week, honey, Things can only get better. Thinking of you.
(((Carol)))) You are in my prayers.
So sorry to hear of your nephew Mike. So young to be struck down like that and a difficult prognosis.
Your quilt looks lovely, Lynn.
Not been a good day here today. I slept badly and have an IBS flare up which has kept me close to the smallest room for most of the day. I’m okay just exhausted, Forgive me for not replying to more of your posts. Please be assured I have enjoyed reading all of them.

My websiteJanuary 31, 2022 at 5:43 pm #1456108Hiya… my respirology tech adjusted my cough assist machine yet again. It feels a little better and I hope to be able to make this work. It’s important to keep my lung function stable. My oxygenation, however, is excellent at 95%.
I spoke with Katherine, my Sister, again today. She is knitting a wheelchair appropriate sweater for me. My clothes are all too long in the back and very difficult to arrange comfortably. She has fancy dancy knitting machines and can knit 250 rows in under an hour.
That’s a beautiful quilt you’re finishing, Lynn!
Mike, that’s really sad news about your Nephew. So young…
(((Joy)))
Shutting down the laptop and getting ready for bed. I know it’s early, but I can raise the head and watch our tv from there.
Love and hugs to everyone…

Ellen I am going to google YouTube for decluttering.
I too decluttered all my books a couple of years ago. It was soooooo hard, I love each and every one of my books. I gave them to Lifeline, they were all in new condition. There were many many boxes full. Alan donated all his too, he had a heap of novels.
Anita wow, glad Keith got his eye sorted. What a week you have had. ((()))
Lynn, I am so glad you are still take the gelatin. It really helps the connective tissues as well. sure helps me. Your quilt is going to be beautiful. Are you hand sewing?
Mike, so sorry to read about your wifes nephew. So young!
How busy are you Char!
Joy I can relate to your IBS flareup. Big Hugs.
Glad your tech is on the ball Char. How wonderful your sister can knit for you. I used to have a knitting machine when they first came out in the 1970’s I knitted a whole lot of Tanis clothes and with my sewing machine I made all her dresses shorts and blouses. I didn’t need to buy any clothes for her for years. I was lucky she loved everything I made.
It is stinking hot here, and going to get worse. I love my fan, keeps me nice. Weather forecaster just said tomorrow is going to be worse. Just a normal February.
