March 21, 2022 at 4:06 am #1463665Good Morning all,
It is 6:00 a.m. here in dark and sleepy Oakwood. Even the birds are still quiet this morning.
Busy week ahead for me starting with a dental visit tomorrow for a check up and cleaning. We go every six months. Then art class on Wednesday and a mammogram at the Base Hospital and some shopping on Thursday, finishing with a TriArt meeting on Friday. I’m not used to all this gallivanting any more.
Uschi, hope your bp is down a bit today and you can talk to your doctor about the meds.
to all,
SYL,
Sylvia
March 21, 2022 at 5:04 am #1463668Good morning all from a sunny Cornwall. Wind has dropped to manageable level and it’s really quite pleasant.
Hope your BP is back to normal levels, Uschi. Get to a doctor, love, and get the meds sorted out.
Congratulations on the sales, Char. Well deserved.
Glad to hear that you are back to normal routine, Doug. Love the “Poo Tin”
Well done on Wordle JJ. Glad your knee is pain free.
Enjoy the trip out Bill. Even shopping and banking gets you out of the house.
Sounds like you have a very busy week ahead, Sylvia. Hope everything goes well for the medical appointments.
Hope you’re none the worse for wear after your soaking, Lulu.
Scrumpy is back on top form again after his visit to the vet and the pep up shots. He needs them every 5 or 6 weeks these days but he is almost 15. A pretty routine day in prospect for me. General housework and I have a load of laundry going through the machine as I type.
Such chatty Washes. Everything else has got muddled up in my head so I’ll just say Hi, to anyone I’ve missed. I’ve enjoyed all your posts and laughed and commiserated with you by turn. I’ll try and catch up again later.
Have the best day possible.

Overcast and -5 today and going to -1. Spring continues.
My sister and I are going uptown this morning. The mask mandates are finished today. No more masks in public. She wants to get Covid now while she is still protected so we are going out in crowds. That wasn’t my idea, she did her own research and decided she wants it this week. She leaves to drive home after lunch and I’ve given her a box of tests.
I drive the boys to school this morning first (their first day without masks). Brian has to run to Home Depot to do an easy repair on our pantry light (the pull chain broke off). But then he has a big plumbing job to do. The laundry tub overflowed with a washing last night and isn’t draining at all. It’s a problem that has happened before and we usually have to snake out that pipe once a year. It hasn’t been done in two years. There are three reasons it does this. A very shallow slope in the drain, and both the kitchen sink and laundry area empty into it. It’s fairly simple to do with easy access under the laundry tub but it’s a dirty, smelly job.

?????We are expecting big storms today with up to an inch of rain. I will not be leaving the house, and I have a date with my vacuum and floor mop.
I will be working on special t-shirts for my daughters that I started designing last night. Hopefully, they will like them.
I will need to adjust the settings on my CPAP machine yet again, until I find the correct, comfortable settings.
Ellen, While we have been mask free for about a month, we are still avoiding crowded places. In fact, our pharmacist was mask free for the first time on Saturday. All the plastic partitions are starting to come down in stores. I keep waiting for the shoe to drop. I checked the CDC website, and we are now green in our county for not having to wear masks.
Joy, I understand your feelings of being muddled after reading the wash. It depends on how much sleep I have had.
Have a great day!

My Youtube videosMarch 21, 2022 at 7:27 am #1463690A good Monday to all……..clear and 54° this morning. Clouds will move in during the afternoon hours, but we should be end up in the low 70’s again today. Tomorrow, chance of thunderstorms. Green shoots coming out of the ground, plants budding, trees fuzzing up…….Spring is here.
Today’s a busy one. Have a lab work appointment at 10:45. Need to get a new tire for my truck. Woke up Saturday morning to a completely flat tire……..luckily, it was the one I needed to have repaired anyways. It already had a screw in the tread that was a slow leak that required an air up once a week, but now it has a 10 penny nail in the side wall. City still hasn’t shown up to address their problem in the drain line, so I’ll be on the phone a lot with them…..checked the 311 site and my report number says the problem has been resolved and the report is marked “Closed Out”. SOP for Memphis 311 system for non-emergency issues…..file report, promises to get to it within 24-48 hours, after 48 hours, it’s closed out as “Fixed” or “Investigated, no issues found”. Wash, rinse, repeat…..meanwhile we have to juggle showers, laundry, dish washing……….could be weeks before they actually send someone out and then weeks before they fix it. I hate dealing with this City…..any government job in Memphis, it’s not about being qualified…….it’s about “who you know”, “who your family is”, “what you know about somebody already with the City”, and the all important “what color your skin is.” Rant over…………..and I need to start whacking the Knockout Rose bushes…they’ll be leafing out very soon.
Wordle kicked my butt this morning.
Nancy…..I’m still wearing my mask…who knows, maybe it’ll help with the pollen as well.
Breakfast, meds and shower calling me…..Greetings to all here and those to come. Have a fantastic day, evening or night. BBL
Be good, do good……
Steve.
