Good morning/evening all
We had a very rainy night but I slept well.
The class were challenged using the gouache, but there were some excellent results. I think the Caran d’Ache pan gouache sets are more suited to class work, they are easy to pack away at the end with no waste.
Food shopping and baking as usual today.Doug

When it should be lighter Geoff

Feeling great today. It was a twenty four hour thing which is probably more than anyone really wants to know.
Remember I was whinging about the cold a week or so back? It’s going to be filthy hot for the next week. That’ll teach me. I’ll never whinge again. Oops, just did.
Merriweather I hear you on Adelaide temps. Are you in line to get one of the free tesla solar systems and battery? We want him here.
Can’t remember your name, stockbroker retired …. so don’t smack me. The pillage continues.
Anita, what happened to under stated menace. Groan up boy children should not be in charge of anything except their toy trucks, preferably without nuclear capability.

Hi Annie, good to hear you are feeling better. Elon Musk is a remarkable man, he certainly delivered on the back up power station.
If we were much younger I would certainly be having solar panels on our roof which faces due south.

Ok it is 5AM & I’m up & I might just get to see the Olympic opening ceremony & check on our2nd government shutdown. !!!
Last night my husband helped me get the eyehooks on the picture frames & all 3 pieces are ready to be dropped off this morning at 9AM. Yeah:clap:
We had a good laugh because I had wanted to see what baked pears tasted like. I had bought 2 & looked up a recipe & put them in the oven while we were finishing up the artwork. Our timer on the oven does not work & you guessed it. I burnt the pears:lol:
I did manage to get some pics up on FB & it may be Saturday before I get them up on here.
Thanks for all those nice comments everyone.
Char====I forgot to say yesterday that your story of the exploding meal was horrible. I’m surprised you did not get seriously burned. I’m sure you got a few laughs in eventually. What a mess. See I knew I should not be gifted one of those at Christmas:lol:
Oh FYI we had just a week ago looked at our 401K balances. I had my husband look Tuesday night & we had lost $1,200 in the stock market dropping. We will look again this weekend.
Well gotta get something to eat.
Will check back later

My Youtube videosFebruary 9, 2018 at 8:18 am #562461Morning all. Got just a dusting of snow -so far. I’m looking at the huge snow storm on National Weather Service Radar that stretches across Michigan heading our way. I heard a Chicago total of up to 17 inches of snow could fall by the end of the weekend. At my cottage in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula they have had 106 inches of snow as of last Friday.
Char – my best to you. I have the same hands.
Bill – looks like more snow for us.Well off to the shoveling…

February 9, 2018 at 8:25 am #562439We are under a winter storm. Getting to work was not too bad. We got around 4-5 inches at our house and it’s still coming down. The authorities are suggesting staying home if you can. It isn’t supposed to stop until around 4pm.
Rich, where in the UP is your cottage? My daughter lives in Marquette and my Aunt in Gladstone.
I’m glad it’s Friday. I have plans to re-arrange my art area which will be an all day job, maybe to.
Larry has to work tomorrow at least so far. That could change.
We did some errands last night including picking up our computer from Best Buy.
Have a GREAT DAY all!! :grouphug:

February 9, 2018 at 8:28 am #562434Good Morning!!
Dull, cold and a fair bit of snow expected.
I did my grocery shopping yesterday so I don’t have to go out if I don’t want to.
No appointments either so it will be a housework, reading and knitting day.
Char OMG, never mind the mess, you are sooooo lucky you didn’t get burned. I bet you are not going to do that in a hurry again. I hope the snow holds off long enough so you and Ted can make it to Windsor.
Anita, hurry up with the pictures!! I can see more pears on your grocery shopping list:)
Bill, that would truly be Murphy’s Law:rolleyes:
Geoff, if you need another shot in the eye I that you don’t feel a thing. I am with Eileen on history go by the principle that is in Kay’s signature line – something like “don’t look back, we are not going that way”:D
That reminds me – Hi Kay!!
Doug, nice that your class is doing such surprising work with the gouache.
Annie, so glad it was only a 24 hour bug. Talking about whinging, I was whinging plenty yesterday during scrabble, lousy letters, only vowels etc. then I won the game. Have no idea how I did that. Well next, game, whinging again, lousy letters, won that game too:confused: My whinging is no longer welcome in the scrabble group:D
JJ
to you Rod and wish everyone a good day!!
P.S. Rich and Darla we X posted. Don’t send us too much snow, O.K.
