Good morning all
I have to be up early, we intend to be away for the weekend by 10am. We are at Alvaston Hall until Monday so I will have intermittent wifi.

We must leave our mark on this worldJanuary 3, 2020 at 1:31 am #928172Evening Doug.
For Bill … the first sitting at Restaurant nebo. Sulphur crested screechies. Did have a visit from four long billed Corellas a few days ago.
The seed eaters are having a hard time of it.
By the way, sorry Bill, but their names all start with B.

January 3, 2020 at 2:43 am #928178Morning all. Enjoy your trip to Alvaston Hall, Doug.
Annie, what an amazing picture. We get pigeons in our garden – it’s not quite the same.
Char, yesterday’s sunrise pictures were fantastic. They sparked joy in my heart.
Lulu and Marshall, the Amsterdam to Basel trip was recommended to me just last year. We’ve done the Danube, from Budapest to Nurenburg, at Christmas and it was like living in a Christmas card. The Christmas markets were amazing.
I’ve woken up with a really sore throat. There’s so much lurgy going around. We’ll start putting away the decorations today. I’ll miss the trees they look so pretty, so I think I’ll start with the Christmas cards and the stair garland.
Greetings to all who wash up later.

Yes, amazing Char, so bright from 93 million miles away!
All packed and ready to go.

We must leave our mark on this worldJanuary 3, 2020 at 3:49 am #928167Good day all,
I’m up early tending to Janet. She is disoriented this morning with one of her migraines.
Annie, thanks for the lovely photo. Such beautiful birds and so lucky to have you feeding them.
Doug, have a good weekend away.
Later,

January 3, 2020 at 3:51 am #928180Good morning Doug, QS, Lulu, and Annie, morning to all who wash up later, and huggles to all who need them :grouphug:
I hope you and Ruth have a great weekend at Alvaston Hall, Doug. (*now has Glen Campbell singing Galveston stuck in her head!* :music:)
Lovely pic of the schreechies, Annie!
I hope your sore throat doesn’t progress into anything else, QS. There’s so much going around at the moment, and they seem to be lingering a long time. So far (touch wood :crossfingers:) only Matthew and me in the family have escaped it. I generally have a pretty strong immune system, which is extremely fortunate given everything else that doesn’t work, and only tend to get a cold every few years.
Marshall – if you’re wanting to travel in Europe, a river cruise is one option. In 2002 I did a coach holiday to Germany, where I stayed at Remagen, the location of the film “The Bridge at Remagen”, and from there took a river cruise down the River Rhine, where we stopped off at various towns along the river. The one I did was just within Germany, but there are river cruises that go from northern Europe right down to the Med.
Char – of course we all know how important you are, but it’s nice to see that Google Maps have recognised how important you are too!
(((Bill))) – I hope (((Janet))) feels better very soon. :grouphug:
Off to the hairdressers this morning to get shorn.
Back later!

C & C welcome!January 3, 2020 at 4:24 am #928160Good evening all.
Doug, have an awesome trip. Don’t fall out of bed.
Annie thanks for the photo. I love the skreechies too.
QS I hope your sore throats gets better quickly. Have you got some Difflam Spray?
Morning Marshall. I too watch the European River Cruises, and Cruising With Jane McDonald. I have been to England twice, Ireland once and France once. I intend to do way more of Europe in the next couple of years. I had a hiatus from travelling to be where my family needed me, but right now they are pretty self-sufficient, all grown up, so plans in the making.
Lulu, Alan says hello, and asks which township are you moving to please.
Steve, oh my gosh. I am glad you were on hand for that driver, but wow, they were quick to take his car, and what expense. Same here. I would hate to break down alone, although, I do have RACQ You are a very kind man.
Bill, I am so sorry Janet is ailing again. Much love and hugs for both of you xx
Tomorrow, I have decided to have a gardening day!
Much love everyone.:grouphug:

My Youtube videosJanuary 3, 2020 at 7:39 am #928157Good Morning!!
Warmish with a high of 5C but forecast is for dull.
Plans for today are resume my painful massage in the morning and having Ava and Ethan over for painting in the afternoon.
JJ and Annie, the fires are just horrendous, looks like the whole country is ablaze:eek: I saw the brown snow of NZ on the news last night:eek: If the wind can carry that 2000 km to there we can imagine what it does to your country.
JJ, I hope your healing is going well!!
Annie, beautiful birds!
QS stay healthy:crossfingers:
Doug, wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Lulu, your family sure had a nice break!!
Bill, so sorry about Janet’s recurring migraines. Has she always suffered with them or is this new??
Rachel  for your strong immune system, I am lucky that way too.
Char, yesterday’s photos were fabulous.

January 3, 2020 at 7:52 am #928182Hi to everyone.
Woke up t 7:30 and I feel like I have lost ground on this cold. I felt a lot better yesterday. I had to cancel another Chiropractor appointment. My back will never get better if I keep canceling.
THanks for the travel tips. Seems like this bunch likes to travel. so does my wife and I like being where ever she is. So I guess I have to like travel too.
Don’t feel like doing anything but going back to bed after my coffee. So, I hope everyone has a great day.

Living the retired life in NE FloridaJanuary 3, 2020 at 9:42 am #928159Good Morning… it’s cloudy and warm at 5C this morning. The dull and dreary will stay with us for a few days.
Ted didn’t sleep well, so I didn’t sleep well. He goes back to bed and I do what needs doing. Today, I’m grogging around the house and dragging my feet. I have garbage to drop off at the transfer station and paintings to deliver to the ArtSpace gallery. I think I’ll pick up McKenzie for a quick lunch, too.
I’ve been working on Lesson plans for my Classes that will start up again next week. One thing I want them to do, is learn to draw and sketch. I encourage Beginners to trace their images if they are uncomfortable with their drawing skills. But, at some point, we need to refocus. I bought a set of water soluble graphite pencils. Each Student will find one at their place when they return. We’ll do a 15 minute warmup before each watercolour lesson. And being able to wash out the graphite will add to the fun!
Doug! Have fun! I broke my scissors on New Year’s day. I have a spare pair.
Annie, those cockatoos are really beautiful. Do the turkeys avoid your yard when the screechies come to feed?
Hi Lulu!!
QS, I’m sorry that you’re coming down with “something” that’s been going around. I trashed the gingerbread houses yesterday. Three of them… gone, gone, gone.
Bill, I’m sorry that ((Janet)) is suffering with a migraine.
Rachel, there’s no one of importance here. I did add my name to the image! It’s amazing that your immune system is strong given all your challenges!
JJ, you sound as though you’re feeling much better. I hope that’s so. We saw the news about the brown snow on the glaciers.
Uschi, how exciting that you’ll have the Grands over for a painting session again!
((Marshall)) Go to bed. Drink lots of fluids. Get your vitamin C.
I’d better get a bite to eat before I fade to a shadow and then I need to gather up all the stuff that will come to town with me. Have yourselves and happy and creative day!
