Ikea…the Facebook of stores to me.

Eyes,I am having short term treatment for another complaint, one of my many, and it was felt that a reaction of my usual injection could cause severe discomfort at least, and possible blindness at worst…so we said pass till other options open.

        Cool here and dull.

Well, there you go: I really like meatloaf too!

I always associate the big hot dog deal with Costco. My old office was close to Costco and a group of us used to go there for the $2 soda + giant dog lunch deal ;)

We have sunshine and 76F here today but of course I’m inside working. Larry took the afternoon off to go to a race with Justin. I will have the house to myself tonight and can watch what I want on TV.

I don’t have much planned for the weekend. Tomorrow they are calling for rain and on Sunday some sun with a high of 61F. We will see.

This afternoon seems to be crawling by, typical Friday. :D

Doug and Geoff, I LOVED the Cotswold’s and would love to see it again someday. We rented a car and drove ourselves and it was so nice. It makes me want to go have a look at my pictures again.

Uschi, my Mom always used vinegar, baking soda and ammonia to wash painted walls with and boy did it clean nicely. The ammonia though would about choke you to death!! Vinegar is what we use on our all wood floors, it cleans good and is all natural.

I might stop on my way home from work to pick myself up something to eat since I’m all alone tonight. Hmmm…..now what sounds good? :p

Char, we planted our pots of flowers and Larry got our hanging pots hung. I guess summer is almost here! ;)

JJ, how nice of you to sing Tania happy birthday. She seems to be genuinely tickled pink. :cat:

I have a few online things to get done tonight, I ordered another place setting for 4 of my pfalgraff dishes. I wanted service for 12. I had to order a pen for the stain that we used in the bathroom because Justin didn’t get the corners and cracks very well on our mirrored medicine cabinet hangs on the wall in front of the vanity. I did it and you can’t even tell. I was hoping it worked well because it costed $15.00 plus shipping! Expensive pen.

I’m anxious to get started on my kitchen now but Larry said we might wait until the week in July we have off. I’d like to start it sooner, we will see.

There is some controversary over the job that Larry put in for and he thinks he may be facing discrimination against him because of his age. That is a NO-NO in America now. It’s going to be interesting how it plays out. Especially because they are asking the young guys (and we both get that) when Larry is more experienced. It’s just the principle of it.

I hope you all have a great weekend and are able to do something fun. I hope those who are under the weather get to feeling better real soon.  :grouphug:

Well I’m just feeling sorry for myself. My birthday was spent doing PT and then it started to rain just as I went to my car. Everything hurt and throbbed last night. Finally took a muscle relaxer and passed out.

Today I was hoping to treat myself to a new iPad. This one is just too old, can’t be updated anymore, and just gets weirder and weirder. Thought I’d get my packages and then take the train into World Trade Center to the Apple store. But no. I’m stuck here. First, I’m waiting for a package. Then I called the coordinator about my pre-testing and she said the surgeon might be on vacation the week of my surgery, so call back later. So I waited until quarter to four. No, no, call back next week. Apparently his father is not well, soooooo . . . . . Oh, man. Sigh.

And my PT runs out next week. At least one package arrived. My downstairs neighbor very sweetly brought it up. Twelve pounds of cat kibble. But I am just a little disappointed I didn’t get to try out my climb cart.

Well, got the laundry put away and took down the recycling. And I have a migraine.

                    Later,

:grouphug: Kay :grouphug: And a belated Happy Birthday! Sorry it was not better for you

                    Had meatloaf for lunch :)

Thanks, Tracy! I understand about the blackberries we had a real jungle on the Island, many years ago. Loved the fruit though.

                    Cheers, Lynn

                    I’m home!

I enjoyed Bourton on the Water and did four wobbly sketches but the journey there and back were horrendous due to roadworks and accidents on the M6 motorway. The journey home took 5½ hours of stop-go traffic, Google Maps had it as 3 hours 11 minutes and 155 miles:eek:

Bought myself a set of Trekz Bluetooth bone conduction headphones at a service station and they are great – I recommend them. I can wear them with my hearing aids and hear general sounds as well as the headphones.

While I was away I had a postal delivery which I have to collect and pay £24 duty on – a $100 gift from Dick Blick.

Darla, no cooking for you, I like that part:)

Char, That is probably why your neighbours opted for that big tower. Maybe you could attach your dish to it????

My DIL’s mother’s delicious meatloaf took me literally 4 days to get it past the stomach into the intestines. Lesson learned, no more beef for me, ever again:)

Geoff, you certainly don’t want any of those dire consequences ((())))

Ikea, it’s not too far off our Royal Botanical Gardens and one of my friends and I used to visit that and then head off to Ikea for the lunch – 1$ Haven’t done that in a long time, haven’t taken millions of iris photos in a long time either:D

tracy, you are wrestling with the blackberry and my lovely neighbour put in bamboo and then left for all of us neighbours to struggle with it. You cannot kill that stuff.

Lynn, gorgeous art!!! I am not doing anything really strenuous like lifting heavy stuff etc.

Doug, nasty trip back:eek: Yes, we tend to forget that we order stuff from outside our own country, so easily done on the internet.

Eye drops time and then I am making a sardine salad, I used to love sardines, not so much in the last so many years, hope making it into a salad will liven it up, or make it taste less fishy:D

Uschi, I had a neighbor at the condo (years ago) who got the brilliant idea to plant bamboo. Good lord. Apparently some of this growing knowledge that seems ABC-like to many of us is quite foreign to others!

Besides the blackberries here, I have to contend with morning glory vines – those are courtesy of the previous owner. and SOMEBODY in the neighborhood has holly (another noxious weed in this state) and the birds are dropping seeds everywhere).

Boy Geoff, that definitely sounds like QUITE the potential consequence to be avoided!

Today on the way to go vote in the runoff election for city council, we passed a mimosa tree in full bloom. I have not seen one since I lived in Florida. They can survive in our area. Such a treat to see.

Uschi and Tracy, My mother learned the hard way when she planted bamboo in Florida. It took forever for my father to get it out. The only safe way to grow it is in a container with no holes in it!

We survived our trip to Ikea, but we only walked the lowest floor. We got back home before rush hour traffic. Rested, went and voted, and then went out to dinner and had pizza.

                            Have a great evening!

Tania thanks all of you for your kind wishes.

Char sorry you are having internet problems, i was too this morning, and Optus are sending me a new modem to install. I use olive oil, or Coconut oil instead of butter, if I have a need. Usually dry toast (gf)

Ii need a meatloaf recipe for my pressure cooker :) Love meatball if they are moist, same with meatloaf.

I have those bone conduction earphones Doug. Good for listening to my audible, and not so good for phone conversations. Tania says i sound like I am under water. I have to remember to charge them is the other draw back.

My lunch is calling me.

I think Walmart (in the us) or Amazon, would be the facebook of stores. I’m just curious, why IKEA?

Tracy, we stopped visiting the IKEA Labyrinth when they closed the pass-throighs and insisted you walk the whole route even if you only wanted one item.
