Greetings all –
Another overcast day here. Betty, we’re happy, right? I *do* need tomorrow’s DRY and overcast forecast to happen though so I can mow the lawn. I expect that mulching doesn’t work real great with wet grass, but I’m going to try the mulching feature this time so I don’t have to deal with the heavy clippings bag. I’m getting over the cold, but I know that mowing the lawn is going to tap deeply into whatever energy I have.
And AFTER the mowing…I hope to take my folding chair and camera and go watch some of the bike race. We have a stage race here once a year and the time trial happens tomorrow morning (boring!), but the crit is in the late afternoon into evening. The last race (the biggest one) doesn’t start until 8pm and with overcast skies, those guys are going to be racing in semi-dark I think. Hopefully enough light to get some pics though that I can use later for sketching (no way I am up to capturing that action live with my sketchbook, lol).
I started sorting through my London photos last night. The camera I used is getting a bit long in the tooth and it seems to have taken TWO shots for every photo much of the time. It’s a known issue that the buttons wear out on this model and I might need to decide what I’m going to do. I’m kind of in the process of following in Steve’s footsteps and letting some of my higher end camera equipment go and then I can maybe begin shopping for a new model bridge (super zoom) camera which is what I’ve been using more lately. Anyway, I’ll try to post some of the pics for y’all at some point although I don’t think any are fantastic. Many have people or cars in there that I wouldn’t want as photo club pics, but I keep them as reference photos.
Sharon, Monet cracked me up yesterday. Definitely quite proud of his “do.”
Steve, any plans with Lisa for the weekend? Her surgery date is fast approaching. From what you’ve said before, it sounds like she has supportive colleagues so I hope that her work responsibilities are covered in a way that she will be able to focus on her recovery after the surgery (instead of fretting about getting back to work).
Darla, Larry’s activities gave me a good bump….I need to get some Weed-n-Feed on my lawn too. I really should do that after mowing Saturday since more rain is then expected in the days afterward so then I wouldn’t have to worry about watering it all in.
Annie, what a scary thing for Roger with the tick!
Nancy, how nice this project is almost done!
Uschi, did you have any apple pie left after scrabble or did everybody finish it off?
Aw Carol….I’m so sorry your travel adventures had to take that turn to Colorado. Nice that the whole family was able to attend though.
Char, Doug, Geoff, Sylvia, QS, Ellen….. (and anyone I may have missed or to come!)

The decorative tiles are on mesh, so he has to stop when he does that round. Then on Monday, he will finish the top tiles, put the trim on, and then tile the floor. The next day will be grouting. And the final day will be Wednesday installing the fixtures. UGHHHHHH. I am going to clean up some of the dust tomorrow while John is at baseball.
Geoff, I had a whole bunch removed about 20 years ago all on my neck. It was from wearing necklaces to bed. I stoped doing that and have not had any since. My doctor just snipped them off with scissors. Talk about a burn for the first 24 hours.
I am getting ready to do a patio on my newest project and trying to figure out the best way to do it. I need to look at my Paris photos to get the tiling right.

Nancy, you made me remember something! My dad was in the swimming pool business and when my sisters and I were small (I would have been 3rd or 4th grade I think), we used to earn a little pocket money by making those kinds of tiles on mesh for swimming pools! Depth numbers and some designs (like dolphins). I can actually feel that rough feel of the bottoms of the tiles thinking about it. Funny how our memories work sometimes.

Now just chilling out with a Marjorie Eccles book. I have thoroughly enjoyed her books but sadly am almost at the end. I know I’ll read them again though….one of the benefits of failing memories
Picked up some supplies for the garden, so that is on the agenda for tomorrow.
Good to see all your news, I am reading , just reducing my online time!

"Ring the bells that still can ring, Forget your perfect offering, There is a crack in everything, That's how the light gets in" Leonard CohenMay 18, 2019 at 12:52 am #828992Hi everyone:wave:
I had the weirdest thing happen to me today! I went to a convenience store to buy a lottery ticket and when I got out of my car, I noticed a cute Golden Doodle next to me that had just pulled in, so I said cute dog! Both windows were open, the dogs and the driver.
The guy who is younger than my son, ( 40’s somewhere) got out and followed me into the store! I bought a ticket, and and was too close to me, and then followed me out of the store, and then followed me in my jeep. I was thinking I am not going home now, so I drove to Wendy’s and he followed me for 8 blocks and pulled up beside me and put his window down and said, Bye cute Lady see you around. It was a white Mazda SUV, but I did not get the license Plate!
As a women who is 66 maybe I should find that flattery, but there are also Mental Health issues out there, right! Whey on earth would any man in there 40’s find me attractive,:o
I hope I do not run into him again!!!!!!!!!!
