Hi these are for the Fantasy and Sci-Fi April Challenge “Historical Monsters”.
I asked for and got some helpful advice on here as I was having issues with the Patina and my Liver of Sulfur.
Not sure if they count as sculpture but I did want to share the results.
So here they are Hydra and Minotaur both done on copper about 8×10 inches each.
Talisman WOW! I love monsters, some of my best friends are monsters. I love these pieces! I don’t know how you do what you do but it’s amazing. I’ve always admired blacksmiths for there craft, also Japanese samurai sword smiths folding metal a thousand times or more to get the perfect blade. I work with clay, it talks to my hands when I work with it, but clay is also very soft compared to metal. I couldn’t do what you did, beautiful pieces.
Thanks!
These are done on thin sheets of copper and I push into it with tools to make the indentations, then flip it over and push out on the other side to make raised areas…repeat as needed!
No heat required and only little hand tools, like an orange stick (for cuticles)
They are a bit tricky to get a good photo of them, very reflective.
