Just received a Conte a Paris charcoal pencil 2b 728 and love it. immeadiately ordered two more. Quite like this sketch, but criticism welcome…
P.S. I’ve found I’ve been getting a bit loose with my drawings, especially with the sanguine sticks so I tried to get some reasonably accurate marks on this image and blocked in the shadows before using my fingers and getting messy. I think I might need to get back to pencil for a bit

I might suggest varying your strong contour edges .. where should they matter ? where should they be lessened ? softer forms can work better with softer contours.. bones can work better with sharper ones..

Nathan.
C&C always appreciated.
