SO, I’ve been on a search for a great transparent red for acrylics. The one I want is more warm and very transparent and deep.  I used this one for oils and LOVED IT. But I can’t find it for acrylics? I’ve been doing mostly acrylic now with airbrush and I wonder if there’s a pigment for this somewhere so I could make a ton. And to any of my oil painters, I do recommend it a lot.

Golden makes a few Pyrrole Reds that might be worth checking out. They make them in their heavy body, fluid and open ranges. They have a Pyrrole Red Dark too.

I haven’t used them myself to be able to compare. But they were the first I thought of.

I have Golden fluid pyrrole red. I guess it’s semi transparent but would be more transparent if thinned.

            C&C always welcome. Michelle

I had Tri-Art transparent Pyrrole Red. It’s a nice color but not very different than a light/middle Naphthol Red PR112. That Holbein one looks a wee bit more orangy/warmer based on the online swatches…gorgeous.
