Hey,
I am looking for the best camera for traveling which can shoot HD video as well as a photo.
My budget is $500.
I am interested in Sony and Canon.
Suggest me the best camera.

Thank you for your suggestion.
I think when it comes to an image quality we should keep in mind the Shutter speed, ISO, and sensor. Sometimes smartphone cameras become weak when you shoot quick action and it does not shoot a quality video in low light and there are many things as a photographer and videographer we know that why a DSLR camera is better than a smartphone.
Of course, there are many expensive phones available that can shoot well. But still, I prefer the Camera…. a DSLR camera.

I had a similar budget number. Mine will serve mostly as a family camera. I also wanted to be able to take photos for art reference or to use in design projects.
I ended up choosing the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV. For Canon, I would think you might consider an older Slr or the mirrorless M200. I also looked at the M50 Mark II and the Fuji X-T200. Those were nice but, I wanted to keep to the budget.
June 19, 2021 at 9:06 pm #1416503Smartphones have a small sensor compared to a DSLR with a full frame sensor…something like 9mm compared to 35mm. Smartphone cameras are designed to take photos and selfies for posting on FaceBook, Instagram or TikTok. They can look very good in those small frame formats, but if you blow them up size-wise you start to see the pixels – “pixelated” as they say. You might get a usable 8×10 print. Full frame cameras however will allow a photo to be blown up to a wall size mural before you start to see pixels. Both of these cameras are expensive for different reasons.
I have two DSLRs and two pocket digitals, my go-to camera is a pocket Canon Digital Elph at 12.1 megapixels. It’s a little smaller than a cigarette pack. It has a telescoping lens that retracts. It has a flat screen about 2-1/2″, no eye viewfinder. It has a metal chassis and is built like a tank. Canon makes tough cameras. Price is usually between $100-$150 USD, look for them on sale at big box stores like Walmart, BestBuy, Amazon, etc. I’m very happy with the pictures I get, I photograph my paintings with it, I usually tweak them with Photoshop. It will shoot stills or movies. I recommend this camera. ZD
