While walking my dog Sam, I often take pictures. I have a small Nikon digital I carry with me. One of my favorite subjects is when the sun peeks between the trees. Here is a “before” and “after” from yesterday. The “after” really changes things, doesn’t it?

It sure does. It looks like the branches and leaves are melting from the super hot sun. A very liquified effect.
Photography is the art of observation. It has little to to with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. Elliott Erwitt

I actually got into this because of an interest in creating similar effects in video, where you take live action and “cartoonize” it.

Surprising result from Dream Generator:
November 27, 2018 at 2:56 pm #733494Took this with my Nikon this morning. Looks like the Dream Generator replaced the sun with an angel.. or is it my imagination?

November 27, 2018 at 6:12 pm #733490My goodness these make for interesting photos to look at and study. They almost belong in a story book. In the latest one you did, I see 2 turtles, a prehistoric dinosaur, fish, mouse, and a beetle. Wowsers. I also like the colors which I attribute to your original photo.
And then, in the open field post, the AI decided to put some animals in the field. I wonder how it decides to do these things.

The Deep Dream Generator is a Google AI project. I “think” it is associated with the algorithm used in captchas but I’m not sure. It apparently interprets shapes in the original photos it believes could be animals, cars, or whatever. Just making a guess. But it makes some interesting artistic assumptions..
