12×16 AUTUMNAL DESERT – palette knife, Chroma interactive acrylics, done alla prima on heavy linen paper with gusto and emotion. The SW desert is such a vast open area that it gets reflections from 360 degrees of its surroundings- up – down and all directions.

http://painterofthesouthwest.blogspot.com/July 15, 2018 at 12:18 pm #657450I like this – the shapes in an odd way remind of waves in an ocean, tying the vastness of the desert to that of the sea; different colors, and one is a lot wetter, but there’s a common theme of color, huge views, and a great sky above.
