Happy holidays everyone!  This reference is one of Robert Frost’s summer rentals in Vermont (Robert preferred renting to buying more often than not, and wasn’t opposed to moving around!);  it is actually next to the road that he wrote ‘The Road Not Taken’ about… The painting ended up close to where I was headed – it has a LOT of dust packed on it! 16×12 on UArt 400;  Mount Vision, Sennelier, Great American, Terry Ludwig and Unison, with myriad pencils for blending (no underpainting, Karen).  Comments greatly appreciated as always.  Thanks very much for looking.  Stay safe and healthy.  Neal

My first thought was “seasonal”. Your palette choices convincingly relay the time of year. Interesting story to accompany your painting as well.

Beautiful picture Neal. I like the softness of it. For a more convincing feel of depth, I would consider to soften the distant mountains.

Very nicely done, Neal!  We get to appreciate the beautiful autumn foliage as well as the rural architecture and view into the distance.
