Becca's Fine ArtJune 3, 2018 at 10:39 pm #632491Marcia, cats do have that look when they get things wrong, like obviously this is absolutely not my fault…you set me up!!! Must be nice to never feel guilty!
Mary, all that traveling would wear me out. Wave to Becca when you pass her for me too, please!
Becca, We went out for dinner today in one of our favorite restaurants, but it was packed tighter than I have ever seen it. They kept running out of food even though they were working as hard as they could. Next time, we’ll make sure not to go on a Sunday. I think a lot of them go just to show off their clothes after church.:smug:

Tourist season is pretty much over here, so the restaurants are not so packed. Although I think around here, people start eating out more because it is too hot to cook. I met my bf at a local place because he wanted to watch a ballgame, and they were pretty busy.
I didn’t get around to painting yesterday, so going to try and get to it this morning, bfeore errands in the afternoon. It is already heating up, so it won’t be so hard to stay indoors today!

So sorry, but I didn’t do it to you, that’s just the fickleness of mother nature! Maybe you’ll get it back tomorrow.
Marcia, staying indoors to paint is soooo good for you in the hot summer; I’m lovin’ it!

I am going down to Trader Joe’s early tomorrow, hoping to get there when they open at 8 ayem, and ought to be home by 10 ayem. I am out of some things that TJ’s has spoiled me for, like Bolivian coffee.

I may possibly have found a home for a few art supplies this week…
The weather here is so strange. It was so unbearable for a week or so, especially this weekend. Today it’s downright pleasant comparatively, and no reason for the difference that I can really see.

Nancy, I’m fine giving up those cloudy days….have had my fill…but honesty today was hazy and for a while felt like rain…
glad for any painting that happened…for me it will be a while again I think.

Becca's Fine ArtJune 4, 2018 at 11:09 pm #632493I had a new lawn mowing done today in this nicer cool weather. I doubt if the gentleman will have such a pleasant mow on the next Monday that he’s back.
So I went out and trimmed my rose bushes and it looks much better. What I need to know is how to get the bare grass patches fixed. When My son had this house, he had several friends (or should I say fiends?) living here with him, and with all their cars to park, they decided to use some chemical that still keeps the grass from growing in that section. He’s gong to be over here soon, and I’ll ask him what keeps it plain earth after all these years…

Dreaming ties all mankind together. - Jack KerouacJune 5, 2018 at 12:13 am #632520Sounds like he needs to remove a layer of that earth to a ? depth and replace it with healthy soil. You could probably take a soil sample into a local nursery or your county extension agent and have it tested.
Just booked a flight for bf to NH for 10 days at the end of June. Is it worng to be looking forward to some time alone?

Becca's Fine ArtJune 5, 2018 at 4:11 pm #632521Just got back from Palms Springs, or as bf calls it, “Crematoria”, although to be honest, it wasn’t that much hotter than here. I had a horible night’s sleep last night, so now that groceries are put away, and I have had a bite to eat, I think it is time for a siesta.

Have passes tomorrow to see both Lord Huron and Xavier Rudd at Bloodworks Live Studio…they come in and do a short set and interview…usually about 4 numbers and there are giveaways and usually a meet and greet…LH is at 12 noon and XR at 3…so I have just time in between to have a late lunch…

Becca's Fine ArtJune 6, 2018 at 10:00 am #632522Good Morning Oilycats!!!
Wow, Becca, that sounds like loads of fun! What a great way to get to know new bands and music. Or meet a fave. Just got a notice today that Mokoomba is coming to Joshua Tree on the 16th:
[antv]NBOF0L23CFs[/antv]I have really been getting into African muisc, African Jazz and Afro-Cuban jazz, so I am very excited about this!
In other news, I took a nap yesterday, and still felt awful, had another bad (but better than the night before) night’s sleep. Woke up stiff from sleeping on the couch (I fell asleep there, plus it is closer to the bathroom, which seemed important at the time, logistically speaking), slowly feeling better. I am looking forward to a day of painting and meeting my friend for dinner later. It is cool this morning, but I skipped on my hiking group, will take a walk through the wash after I finish my coffee. Maybe remember my camera and take pics, it is really beautiful now that the willows have leafed out and are blooming.

interesting about the african jazz…glad you have a performer coming to your area…and hope you are feeling bit better by now…
