That was the whole point I was trying to make with the link to Lenard Cohen preforming Anthem…one of his few songs I love most by him….

My apologies for not responding to the link Becca; I hadn’t managed to get to it b/c of my internet issues.

June 30, 2018 at 11:16 pm #632572Nancy, I am honored that I could inspire you. Since the gallery manager was there when I arrived, I had a chance to wolk across the parking lot to see the local arts council show, which is coming down tomorrow. There was a series of small plein airs by an artist whose figure paintings I really admire. Her small landscapes were equally inspiring! I love her palette! There was also a series of nocturnes by another artist. They were okay, but so black. And gray. One thing I have noticed out here, is when there are clouds for the moon to illuminate, they just glow with a luminous aqua color. And the sky isn’t black, more of a deep indigo. Also I think studying the artists known for their mastery of nocturnes has helped me immensely, although I feel I still have much to discover.
Didn’t feel much l ike painting when I got home. Also, there is a huge cobweb in one corner of the library/studio near my easel. I have been getting welts from bites and once or twice seen a tiny spider crawling on my arm when I am in there. I saw the matriarch once too, big, ugly and black. Not quite like the black widows I am used too, but similar. Anyway, before I left this morning I set off a couple foggers, and wasn’t able to open the windows later (per the instructions) until it started cooling off. I really hope it did the trick and the spiders are gone.
