        Trying to figure out what size margin to us for a mat to fit, different mats are all over the place in sizes for images to fit.

            I try to paint to fit standard-size frames, 16×12  frame for 1/8 sheet, 20×16 for 1/4 sheet paintings give a reasonable margin. You probably need a 24×30 frame for 16×20 to give a good margin.
