Two more paintings in “Lines” series.

        1. Oil on canvas. 9×27
        2. Oil on wood. 11×14

These are both interesting, but the wood really attracts my attention. Anything with texture and color has great appeal. Nice work.

Both very striking but the top one on canvas with more blue is your best I think.

That top piece is an exciting colour scheme. And I like that your lines are very “painterly” lines.

In a place far away in a time long ago, I studied Color Field Art.
Louis-Morris-3-Where-1960 is a painting that comes to mind.
I really like your work.Fresh, free, and colorful.

Oh my…the [em]texture![/em] Love it! And especially on the second one. How did you achieve that incredible frosting-like impasto? These are both very successful pieces.

                                    Hi Annie,
Sorry. I just realized I didn’t respond to the question about impasto. I often use tools that are difficult to control or one suited for something completely different. For example, on this one I used a pencil or the end of an empty paint tube to push thick lines of paint, or scrape them off. If I get too comfortable with it I find something else laying around. I find that this keeps me very focused on the marks I’m making. That said, I also use the usual tools – I’m not a complete Masochist!

                                    Here’s another example.

Let me start by saying I enjoy looking at these works. They are indeed unique.
I do understand you are looking to control your medium and therefore I am thinking that is why these are kept to a rather small size. Whether canvas or wood both are favorable for your style and technique. My only question then would be… have you any plans for creating large pieces i.e. 24″ x 84″ or possibly 48″ X 120″? In my humble opinion I think large would really do justice to your work… just sayin’. But other than that… these are amazing and mesmerizing.
