Another image upload as attachment test. Image size 1.99 mb.
Edit: 1.99 mb is the maximum file size I can upload as an attachment to a post or to my profile galleries. Issue remains in both Chrome and MS Edge.

October 18, 2020 at 9:31 am #1346309You have to be within the 5Mb limit for attachments. When displayed they are cropped to a square, click the picture once or twice to see it full size. I assume you are trying to attach a picture? Doug
Yes, a .jpg image. See previous post for a successful test with image under 2 mb.
Seems my account has been limited to images 1.99 mb or smaller no matter what browser I use. Not really a deal killer, but resizing everything I want to upload is a major inconvenience for me.

October 18, 2020 at 9:43 am #1346314Let’s try a large image a nondescript image 4.75 Mb. Wow, that was nondescript here’s another 4.25 Mb
Shocking photos, both of them taken from car window, but both medium-sized files. Here’s a better one taken through ferry window.

We must leave our mark on this worldOctober 18, 2020 at 10:22 am #1346325A test reply to see if it gets nested as per https://codex.bbpress.org/getting-started/configuring-bbpress/forum-settings/
Edit: guess not. No nesting. 😟

I looked at those shocking images, even touched them, but, alas, no shock.😂
Already tried larger files. No luck. I’m limited to 1.99 mb. That really is big enough for attachments that can be viewed in a new tab/window, just a pain to resize everything I want to upload.

October 18, 2020 at 10:43 am #1346332You will have to insert them with the mountain icon, there’s no size limit. They can be right-clicked and opened full size in another tab or window.

Not so much, Doug. Using the mountain icon inserts an image at the cursor and inserted images cannot be left or right clicked to enlarged. I’ve checked my own posts and well as more than a dozen other posts in the acrylics and watercolor forums.
This image file was 3.77 mb and only a portion of it showed in the post so had to be manually scaled. Right or left clicking it does not open a new tab or page.
Attachments like the one at the end of this post, on the other hand load at the size of the file, are automatically scaled, and can be clicked on to enlarge. They are placed below text no matter where the cursor is placed with a gray separator line between the image and the text. A poster cannot even see them until the post is submitted and actually posted.
I registered to participate in the artists’ forums, not struggle to make it work , look for work-arounds, install plugins (bloatware) into my browsers or fight about technical issues that, obviously, are not going to be fixed.
No need to respond.

October 18, 2020 at 11:11 am #1346349Works for me, I right clicked your picture and opened it in a new tab and then clicked it twice to get a huge image which went totally off all sides of the screen I;m using Chrome in Windows 10.

I remember contacting an Image Editing Services company in the past to develop a layout for one of the presentations of my architectural project. Then I thought that it was possible to find good specialists only in the best companies, but when I now got acquainted with the work of people on the forums and ordinary freelancers, I realized that they should be taken into account and considered as full-fledged contractors.
