        Hi!

I’m trying to draw some objects in 3 point perspective, but I find it hard to make a grid, like I’ve done in 2 point perspective.

Is there other way to know exactly the distance between objects and measures?

        Thanks!

There’s plenty of advice on the net, here’s one site:

It’s a laborious process to do the grid.

It you have a wide enough drawing board, the traditional method is to drive a thumbtack in at both horizontal vanishing points, then use a long straight-edge pivoting around either tack’s steel pin as needed.  If you need a 3rd or 4th vanishing point, just add more tacks.

There is a gadget, invented in 1814 by Peter Nicholson, an English architectural writer. It enables the user to draw accurate perspective lines when the vanishing points are beyond the left and right sides of the drawing board. It’s called a centrolinead.  I’ve never seen one, and they don’t seem to be available to buy.
