He has a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. He attended Theological Seminary in Toronto and has completed Teachers College in Ottawa. He worked for Canadian Tire as an Internal Auditor while in Toronto.

He was married to Elizabeth "Beth" Helen GOHEEN (daughter of Alan GOHEEN and Muriel (GOHEEN)) on 28 Dec 1996 in Wishing Well Acres Baptist Church, Scarborough, ON, CAN.⁽¹⁸⁸⁶⁾ Elizabeth "Beth" Helen GOHEEN was born on 15 Nov 1969 in Toronto, , ON, CAN.⁽¹⁸⁸⁷⁾ Beth grew up in Toronto. She attended Wheaton College in Illinois where she earned a Bachelor degree in Sociology. She is presently working on a Masters degree in World View Studies at the Insitiute for Christian Studies in Toronto. She is employed in Ottawa as a Research Assistant with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.
