Watercolour Painting, My Way : Shagrock, Sumner

Here, masking fluid is applied to save the whites for the surf.
A mix of Ultramarine Blue and Raw Sienna is used to paint the trees and shrubs.

The foreground rocks are painted alternating between Burnt umber and Raw sienna, giving a variation of color.

The texture of the rocks is added with Light Red and Burnt Umber.

The shadow areas are painted directly, and the texture is applied by scumbling across the paper.

A wash of Raw Sienna (with a touch of Light Red) is added to foreground. The curved sea edge is softened with a wet brush.
