Watercolour Painting  My Way : Magnolias

Grey wash applied, edges running into wet border.
Edges tidied by lifting paint with some tissue or kitchen paper towel.
Now we have our background wash in the shape of an oval.

Bordered by the white paper.

French Ultramarine and Burnt Umber tend to separate when left in the palette.

Palette is a white plastic plate, handy for large washes.

As pigments settle and partly separate, a nice granulation effect is produced.
