My first inktense attempt...

Hi, this is my first time posting in the watermedia forum. After seeing some of the beautiful inktense art, I just had to try them. I usually work in acrylic, but haven't posted there in a long time either. Anyway, here is my first attempt with the inktense pencils. It's all inktense except the white, I used white acrylic paint for the sign and the fence.

Well, I can't seem to upload the image. First it says it's too large, so I resized it, now it has failed to upload... Anyway, here's a link...

NOTE: Picture appears later in the posts.

Re: My first inktense attempt...

My apologies if anyone clicked on the link and got a "different" site that was described. It appears my website was hacked, but it has been fixed now.

Re: My first inktense attempt...

How can I upload an image? I haven't had this problem before, although it's been a while since I have done so.

Re: My first inktense attempt...

Yea! It finally uploaded. I resized the image so it is not as clear as the larger one. I had resized it before and it still wouldn't upload, so I have no idea why.

Thank you Shirl. I forgot to say it's done on hot press arches paper.

Missed this one. It is really well done and those bright Inktense colors work well on this subject. Can't wait to see more of your work.

It really have great depth. Can't believe inktense does so well. You have very nice paintings at your site. How big is this original piece?

Nice painting! I have an order of inktense on the way, now I really can't wait. Is this considered watercolor or pencil?

Re: My first inktense attempt...

Thanks everyone! The size is 12 x 16 Arches hot pressed watercolor paper. I'm not sure if they are considered watercolor or pencil. Actually, I believe they are soluble ink, and not exactly watercolor. But they are fun to experiment with!

They are ink so you are correct. They still work well and work with WC and WC pencils as well as other mediums. Great color and you sure handle them well.
